Okay so I'm listening to the concert (the amazing files the forum provided) and I failed to realize Celine singing solo in the duet with Ginette Reno! She sings her freaking butt off at the beginning of the song, which I never listened to until now! How can anyone say she doesn't sound amazing? It's flawless!

Since I downloaded the mp3 version of this concert I have not stopped listening to 'Une chance qu'on s'a'!

What a beautiful song! Celine's voice is incredible and the music is so simple. Perfection... I absolutely love it!

I have also listened to PQTME and On ne change pas quite a lot and I agree with what has been said: the performances of these songs are among Celine's finest.

I have also found myself enjoying L'amour existe encore. Eric Lapointe's voice is certainly not to my taste (I'm not sure who came first but he seems to be trying to out-Garou Garou!) but the gravelly strains seem to work well in Quebec and I must say I like this interpretation.

Si dieu existe: I was worried that Celine's performance might not live up to her delivery last year at Ste Justine but this version is wonderful. Her voice does seem to have changed a lot in just one year and she seems to struggle in places but I find the arrangement and the differences really enriching. Her breathy, almost haunting introduction works really well and I just love it when her voice breaks at certain points. A flawed Celine is a perfect Celine! I love this performance!

The thing I love about this show is Celine's humility. Although the stars on stage with her might be local heros and successful artists in their own right (obviously Ginette Reno was hugely influential in Celine's childhood) Celine was the biggest name on that stage (in terms of sales and fame etc) and yet she was so visibly touched and honoured to share it with all those other artisits. She treats them with such respect and deference and it is all so sincere.

This is definitely one of those moments to be remembered - career-defining as some have already suggested. We need more of this: Celine with a microphone, backed by a genuine orchestra simply singing. Get rid of the fancy staging and be done with the cheesy, synthesised backing tracks... Next time I see Celine, I want it to be like this... She shined that night!

Koolan I'll be glad to do it but are you able to post some of those great caps as I haven't seen that many pics in HQ from this event (or a link 'cause i haven't managed to see them)....and don't forget it's not just the covers but also the art for the discs :msn-wink:
