The Quebec TV Network TVA will broadcast a short version of the concert "Celine sur les plaines" on Sunday, September 21st, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The broadcasting will also feature new footages taken from the behind-the-scenes of the show.

Le Réseau TVA diffusera une version abrégée du spectacle de Céline Dion donné sur les Plaines d'Abraham à l'occasion du 400e annniversaire de la Ville de Québec, rassemblant 250 000 personnes à Québec, 100 000 à Lévis, et déjà vu par 130 000 personnes à la TV à la Carte.

 

L'émission sera présentée le dimanche 21 septembre à 19h30 et dévoilera des scènes inédites tournées en coulisses.

I just finished watching the dvd and i am simply speechless. I have two things to say:

 

First to all, those of you who have worked their asses off to bring this on this forum, and to keep this forum alive and kicking: thank you one million times, you have no idea how much i appreciate it.

 

Second of all, this is - if not the most emotional and finest concert i have ever seen by her or anyone else - one of the most emotional and finest concerts i have ever seen! The voice, the guests, the collaborations, the settings, the occasion, and definitely the crowd altogether played a part in what will go down as a milestone in not only the history of Celine as a singer, but also in the musical history of Quebec. Forever. Period. So many highlights in the show, that it would be easier to name the parts that were not a highlight, and I will do so right now: there is no song that was not in a way or another a highlight, and that is what makes such a concert something that will live in my memory as well as that of many others for as long as i and they shall live. This concert made me appreciate the Quebec culture even more (which you could really hear in the songs of the many guests and their duets with Celine).

 

Thank you Celine and guests for such a magnificent couple of hours in my life. Thank you.

I just watched the second dvd another time. And I noticed something: Is Clade Dubois lip-synching during Si Dieu Existe?? He sounds really different from the song before, and the same as during Sainte-Justine and the recording. By the way during this song, his microphone is miles away and his mouth closed during a longer note..

 

Did anyone else notice??

All the people cheering and singing and Céline was really brilliant, she started in a very powerful way! I loved "Toi et Moi", ok I didn't understand the lyrics but what a great love song!! A Céline crying... I also liked a lot when she sang Degenerations with that band I can't remember its name and with her brothers & sisters. And... well, I think I loved the whole first part.

I find that the duet goes better has Céline whom has Lara..

The emotion of the song is stronger, I find on the duet with Céline.

Around 250,000 people attended outdoor directly on the Plains of Abraham in Québec city. Also not very far away from the Plains in Lévis, Québec, there were 80,000 more people outdoor looking at the show on many giant screens(7 I think). Finally, on pay per view Céline broke Canada's all time record of viewing with 130,000 people buying the live broadcast.

I've just finished watching the show and i have to admit - i cried!! At the end when Celine sings with Ginette Reno Couldn't help it!! Seeing Celine crying, her talking at the start instead of singing, and then at the end of the song. We finally see how she feels when she gets to sing with her idol - how a lot of us would feel if we met her!!
