i was listening to the morning show today on radio and they played IA and AND and LV was mentioned as well as Celine and how her show is ending this year. they touched quickly on the new french album and moved on to speak about the english album and the guy implied the name of the album was

"My hand over my Heart". i nearly dropped down dead when i heard this. i tried calling the radio station immediately but couldnt get through and when it finally rang i had to hang up because i had to get back working i'm going to try again tomorrow. hopefully someone can confirm something or give me their source.

if the new album is going to called "My hand over my heart" its like a "part ll of titanic "MHWGO. hopefully the success will be contagious on the new album too

yes, it's not "that" kind of show. like imus in the morning. they were one of the first to talk about celine/elvis duet on AI so yea but i don't mind the name though. at first i hated it but now i think it kind of fits Celine

"My Hand Over My Heart" it sounds like a play on words from MHWGO. It doesn't seem like it would be the title...i think they were either being sarcastic or they got the wrong information from someone. I don't like that title, and it doesn't fit a Celine Dion album.

The album sales are trembling from year to year. She will be lucky if she will sell 2 million in the US and 3 million in the rest of the wrld. The times of 30 million albums sold are a song of the past.

seb - 5 million copies worldwide will be considered a huge flop . no she wont sell 30 million copies and probably not even 20 million . but judging from their intentions and the people they r working with - they really want it to be a best seller and for celine 2 million copies in the u.s. is a major flop and it doesnt matter that times have changed and all the other known facts .

Well then it will be a huge flop, gogo, cuzz there is NO WAY IN HELL she will sell more than 2 million albums in the US and in Europe she will be also luck if she surpasses the 2 million mark.

and why is that? she'll be EVERYWHERE - yes she could sell much more releasing this album in march 2008 but with the right promotion she can sell 2 million copies in the u.s. in less than 2 months - with the holidays coming and her cbs tv special , not to mention oprah , ellen , leno , letterman , regis&kelly , the view , good morning america and much much more....

as for europ - if the album would still be relevant til march 2008 her tour might boost the sales...

 

dont get me wrong , i know we r dealing with sony and i know celine would have to promote herself like always but common ONE HEART sold around 2 million copies in the u.s. with much less promotion

I know, gogo and perfectly get you but you have to differentiate the two things: what you want and what the reality is. And I don't mean Sony or Céline and her undoubtedly HUGE effort - I rather mean the blunt facts... music isn't selling like it used to. The best selling CD of 2006 has sold a mere 3,5 million LOL! And considering the year before - 2005 - the ho sold 5 million you get the point. The best selling CD this year will top at 3 million max I suspect. If not less. So how could Céline stop that trend? Even Josh Groban's CD flopped by his standards.

seb i'm being rational here . i know she wont sell 30 million copies like i want her to but she can sell around 15 million worlwide - it IS possible .

already this year - there is more than 1 artist who sold more than 3 and even more than 4 million copies in the u.s.

i dont know what would happen with this album but anything less than 15 million will be considered a flop in the media

Céline will never be considered as flop in the media as she is known to to care about the sales as others do. That's the reason the media aren't really concentrating on this issue. For an artist of Céline's caliber it is important to debut at no.1 and everything else isn't as important. She hasn't ever been criticized for her COUNTLESS single flops so why would she be blamed for her new album that won't be selling that much in the times where albums simply don't sell?

albums do sell . just check the billboard chart and see - with the right promotion artists can still sell 4/5/6 million copies in the u.s.

and celine was never considered a flop because she always sold many copies from her album , it's a well known fact she was never into singles success...OH is considered by many a flop

but i remmember reading more than once sentences like - "eventho she is not selling like she used to...."

or more recently in an article about the growing gap between album sales and concerts success....they gave celine as an example to someone who is not selling alot of records this days but still has one of the most successful shows....they gave mariah as an example of an artist who sell alot of records and cant sell out her concerts BTW

actually One Heart was the 10th of 2003 i think and "hand over my heart" doesn't HAVE to be a track from the album. and i rly hope she'll sell 10 million copies or be the best seller of 2007/2008 or something

The fact of the matter remains that she is the World's Biggest Selling Female Artist. Her albums will unlikely be number 1 for weeks on end like they used to- Celine isn't what's Pop at the minute- that's what we have to remember. That doesn't mean that they'll flop. If it debuts high and has a couple of well played and popular singles then that's alrighty- if it enters the Billboard chart at 87 and slips off after a week, then we can call it a flop. I'm nervous for Celine this time cos I want the UK to recognise her again and I don't now how she'll break the mould of criticsm and scorn and "I thought she had retired for good" or "she's been in Vegas for 5 years???!!" sentiments that I hear so often.
