Well, remember that OH was supposed to be rocky and edgy as well! It has been hailed as such and it failed to live up to its expectations. But perhas this time as René himself announces it, it will be the case - though I personally believe he is merely basing his opinion on those 4 songs that are already recorded.

 

I was hoping for a pure RNB record a la Justin's Sex Sounds or Robin Thicke's Evolution. Very refined pop-RNB with class. We still don't know how to interpret Reney's words... I have hard time accepting that she may record yet another ANDHC! She's worth far more than that. Let's hope Evanescence influenced her a lil and she will sing something grand in English.

 

I don't know the ability of Ne yo for doing "rock" songs. But Timba can do what he wants... (bjork for example). And I'm also worried about René's words...I'm sure he thinks naked is totally edgy and rock. But I'm more enthousiastic...I love when Celine sounds rock.

There was no word about the Swedish Curse yet! So I'm also very optimistic and am very much looking forward to this album. Céline deserves the best music and the best producers, she has to live the song she's singing and the ppl will appreciate it.

I hope that "My Hand Over My Heart" is only a code name until the real title is announced to the world. Come on now. I think they're trying to see how people react the sound of this title until they find the right one that will suit the album.

Rene said there won't probably be ever an album like D'elles or D'eux in english cuzz "there would be somebody needed that gives all his time, talent and writes all the songs for the album just for Céline".

 

I think that this is just an excuse for recording yet another commercial album in English! He sould have known better but I admire him for seeing the vast quality difference between her English and French albums. I for one think there is a huge possibility for a great uality English album that could be compared with D'eux or D'elles. They just have to try and cherche encore...

I just watched Salut Bonjour and they said her album would be more rock'n'roll. I think it would be great if she finally realized the Freddy Mercury tribute she said she wanted to do.

Unfortunately Sebusiu may be right, they said it also in the Belgian newspaper article. She'll release an English album just to satisfy everyone, but we've got D'elles now. That one has staying power. So whatever she might come up with, we have at least one new album that compensates for everything else

Do you mean "Tell Me Why"?? He sung this song (of course without Céline) during his concert in Warsaw in 2003 and to be honest I don't really like it so I won't miss it much if it will never appear on any album.

I will not be happy to see If I Ruled the World or I Knew I Loved You on this CD. I would deal with IKILY if the rest of the album was brand new...but let's hope it's ALL new.

 

I cannot wait for the Annie Lennox duet!!!

Rene said he won't put If I Can Dream on the next english album.

And i hope it will be a new album, with a beginning and an ending, something of quality like D'Elles.

Well, I personally think that it is possible to do an english album like D'eux or D'elles, but, it's highly unprobable. And that's ok, I'm sure that her music will be sophisticated and elegant, just like it's always been. In fact, I would be glorified to have an english album that matched the quality of SSD or 1F&4T. I really think this album is going to be her best since LTAL.

I am really excited about this new English CD. I thought we had been told about a month ago that she had already recorded half of the new English songs, but Rene would be the one to know exactly how many songs have been recorded. I think the only "old" song that may end up on the CD will be IKILY, but doubt it would fit with the other songs if they are more edgy...or maybe it will be an extra in a Collectors Edition or something like that.

I'm trying to stay optimistic about the upcoming English album. I hope it does not have too many duets on it, hopefully just the one with Annie Lennox. There are so many different ways she can go with the album. Personally I wish she would go in more of a rock direction. I thought "Tout l'or des hommes" from her 1F4F album sounded different and more "edgy"(as Celine has mentioned). I think she really would like to do more songs like that, whether in French or English since, as she herself has said, everyone always gives her ballads to sing. I don't know who is producing the album but I hope it's someone good. If it were up to me I'd love to see her work with a producer like Rick Rubin although I know he's not producing the album. I wish she would do something a little bit unexpected. Maybe someday!

it's like he already gave up on her english career - the english part of her career is just for commercial success , looking for some quality? - that's why we released DELLES .

what's wrong with him? does he really think that celine cant record some quality songs in english? and what's the deal with that remark about how diffrent it is in english since people wont dedicate their entire time for her record? - i'm in shock!!

 

he should know better than anyone how many amazing and talented authors would kill in order to have celine singing their songs in ENGLISH!!! celine is an icon and many talented people would be more than happy to concentrate only on her project and come up with a concept . the problem is that he is lazy and he wants the easy way when it comes to her english records - he is just calling the hottest producers out there , mix them together and holla - a new english album .

they could do the same thing they did with DELLES in english...there r enough talented writers who write amazing poems in english but i guess rene isnt aware of that fact

I think exactly the same, gogo! Céline could not only offe gorgeous music in English but also lyrics.

 

Today René has been also interviewed on Canadian TV and he said her next English album will do to her English career what Incognito did to her French career as far as the change of style is concerned. He said there will be "surprises". Surely for the general public cuzz every fan here on the forum knows what's coming. And personally I'm looking forward very much to it even if it seems scary at first glance!

Seb knowing that rene said that we can either be thrilled at the thought of something new with surprises or be scared. At the moment I'm halfway inbetween. I want something new but scared to think what might be coming up.
