Alex_Incognito Posted September 18, 2006 at 05:29 PM Posted September 18, 2006 at 05:29 PM Wow! This news one year in advance! That's too early to know! Now we're all dying! This concept sounds absolutely amazing. Even though I am an American, I am glad she's doing a French album next. Her French work seems to be more carefully planned. I love her anglaphone stuff, but her French is out of this world! Now and English album isn't a bad idea, either! It has been years! Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
LVCeline Posted September 18, 2006 at 07:17 PM Posted September 18, 2006 at 07:17 PM I'm mostly excited about the fact that it's female songwriters. She's worked with predominantly men in the last...well pretty much since Diane Warren, isn't it? I'll expect a different style of song, but really am excited about the idea! Quote
Zora Posted September 20, 2006 at 11:59 PM Posted September 20, 2006 at 11:59 PM Yay can't wait for this album! Even though I don't understand most of the french songs they're amazing, and v different to the English. Quote LIFE BEGINS WITH LOVE
Spacewuppie Posted September 22, 2006 at 10:06 PM Posted September 22, 2006 at 10:06 PM That's also my problem; I sooo the French songs, but I don't understand a word of what she's singing. And that's just really :frusty: But hey, any new Céline album will be a great one. i just know it! Btw, what's the deal with Vito? Why is he no good? newyorksnl15 Posted September 23, 2006 at 05:31 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 05:31 AM yay! can't wait for a new french album Quote
layyou Posted September 23, 2006 at 06:12 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 06:12 AM Good News!!!! I'm so excited Quote
Céline's Blues Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:09 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:09 AM I just read that Galvada indeed received a proposal of participating in the project but b(i)tch refused. How dares she!? That doesn't look good. If more of the niche songwriters have refused (past tense, the lyrics are all finished) to participate Céline will get another bunch of crappy songs with garbage lyrics. Céline's Blues Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:21 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:21 AM I have faith to JJG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>But I already find it smelly if EVEN JJG's friends are REFUSING to work with Céline! I mean, PUHLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE salope, it's Céline Dion you'd be writing for, not Alizee! Good grief. I hate her now. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
firebird Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:21 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:21 AM It's not really such a great loss, that she refused. I mean she writes that typical boring "woman literature" (I don't know how to call it otherwise). In my opinion Amélie Nothomb who is also one of the great stars of female French literature has a lot more to offer, her style is a lot better, and her themes as well. Then I also think, there are a lot of French writers we don't think of because they aren't that well known abroad. Quote

I mean Brigitte would be the one to ask to write something for Céline. Perhaps I will write to her and ask. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
firebird Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:26 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:26 AM Actually I'm more excited to know about the writers from Quebec. I mean Quebec is not a book market that is really internationally known, so it's nice to see what they have to offer. Quote

Céline's Blues Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:36 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:36 AM (edited) Quebec: * Marie-Claire Blais - ALIVE, possible, 60% * Denise Bombardier - ALIVE, Radio Canada associate so connections to René are possible, 85% * Esther Delisle - scientist, lyricyst, not really an option here, 20% * Susan Glickman - is working currently on a book of poetry and is releasing a new book, quite quite 70% * Anne Hébert - dead * Antonine Maillet - pretty old but elegant lady, may be an option 65% * Gabrielle Roy - dead * Marie Uguay - dead For French contemporary literature I would say: Alice Ferney, Annie Ernaux, Olivia Rosenthal, Anne Wiazemsky and Catherine Millet are possible. It's much more difficult cuzz in France there are so many females authors....Quebec is more limited. Edited September 23, 2006 at 10:42 AM by siur Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
firebird Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:42 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 10:42 AM So I really don't care about who would write for Celine as long as it's not Veneruso.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Exactly Quote

firebird Posted September 23, 2006 at 11:06 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 11:06 AM Britney? That's a bad joke. Come one, Céline is not tone-deaf.I just hope on her next English album she won't work again with mediocre unknown songwriters who don't cry out loud when Rene takes all the rights and money away from them. I'd suggest he falls on his knees and this way approaches Jim Steinman to apologize to him and make him work on her next English album Quote
René 2 Posted September 23, 2006 at 11:08 AM Posted September 23, 2006 at 11:08 AM Of course he will. Quote
