Wow! This news one year in advance! That's too early to know! Now we're all dying!

 

This concept sounds absolutely amazing. Even though I am an American, I am glad she's doing a French album next. Her French work seems to be more carefully planned. I love her anglaphone stuff, but her French is out of this world!

 

Now and English album isn't a bad idea, either! It has been years!

I'm mostly excited about the fact that it's female songwriters. She's worked with predominantly men in the last...well pretty much since Diane Warren, isn't it? I'll expect a different style of song, but really am excited about the idea!

I just read that Galvada indeed received a proposal of participating in the project but b(i)tch refused. How dares she!?

 

That doesn't look good. If more of the niche songwriters have refused (past tense, the lyrics are all finished) to participate Céline will get another bunch of crappy songs with garbage lyrics.

It's not really such a great loss, that she refused. I mean she writes that typical boring "woman literature" (I don't know how to call it otherwise). In my opinion Amélie Nothomb who is also one of the great stars of female French literature has a lot more to offer, her style is a lot better, and her themes as well. Then I also think, there are a lot of French writers we don't think of because they aren't that well known abroad.

Actually I'm more excited to know about the writers from Quebec. I mean Quebec is not a book market that is really internationally known, so it's nice to see what they have to offer.

Alice Ferney, Annie Ernaux, Olivia Rosenthal, Anne Wiazemsky and Catherine Millet are possible. It's much more difficult cuzz in France there are so many females authors....Quebec is more limited.

We have 2 years to go for an English album so that has much time. I bet it will be very special. David won't be working with her either. Doesn't have plans to do so at least I heard.

I just hope on her next English album she won't work again with mediocre unknown songwriters who don't cry out loud when Rene takes all the rights and money away from them. I'd suggest he falls on his knees and this way approaches Jim Steinman to apologize to him and make him work on her next English album

seb , david wrote 5 new songs to celine - celine was supposed to release those songs as part of a new christmas album - however as we all know reneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee canceled the all thing , so there might be some hard feelings there BUT we have to remmember that there is still a very long time til her next english release so ofcours david is not working with her now , that doesnt mean they wont work together on her next english album to produce those high and very long notes that u like so much

I am more concentrated on her upcoming French masterpiece. Everything in English is just (sometimes) a nice bonus. We have no news about the English CD so let's just look forward to thze French release in the fall 2007.
