Yes, is Carlos still around? It would be cool if he could translate the D'elles DVD :flowers:

Hey there! I'd love to do some new translations. Hopefully I'll do a couple of new ones in the coming weeks :)

This is one of the best music videos of Celine Dion's career, the single was #1 in France, and during the 10 years it's been available on Youtube it still hasn't reached 2 million views. How is it possible?

It wasn't available in the Us until last year

This is also one of the songs that could have worked soooo amazing with the orchestra.

They really ruined the song at the TC tour.

The entire "D'elles" era was botched so incredibly badly. I mean even for TeamCeline standards badly. The fact only one song from the album was included in the tour was absolutely pathetic. "A cause" would have easily fit the "taking chances" theme. It could have been the uptempo song to replace "Shadow Of Love" during the Francophone concerts. (Not to mention the arrangement for "Shadow Of Love" was absolutely horrific.) Heck, more was done with the dang "Miracle" album than was done with "D'elles." She says she has regrets about not doing more with "D'elles." Then, assuming she'll ever return to the stage, she needs to prove it. Otherwise, it's all just more lip service. Actions speak louder than words.

D'elles is now available in Dolby Atmos on Apple music. Sounds quite lovely! Hoping this means more of the French albums get Dolby Atmos mixes soon!

It's not on Tidal or Amazon Music 360 RA yet...

Can you confirm if the album One Heart is available in Dolby Atmos please?

It is available on my Apple Music as Dolby Atmos! Very subpar separation tbh

The selection of albums on dolby atmos is a bit random. This and Miracle, but no Unison, self title or TCOML?

Femme comme chacune is quite different. Celine’s voice is much forward from the second chorus on. The adlibs at the end are beautiful, less blended.

Same with Les paradis where we can hear more things, variations from Celine

Unfortunately we can even more say that A cause is such a badly produced song. Never liked it. Sounds like a demo made with cheap electronic instruments

D'elles is a masterpiece lyrically and musically.

However, the project as a whole is a bit of a let down due to Celine's interpretation. Her voice did not quite shine, I've always felt the album was recorded in a rushed manner.

A Cause

Les paradis

On s'est aimé à cause

Berceuse

I think she sounded phenomenal. A bit more raw than usual.

I really think what you describe as raw is what I describe as dry, because to me her voice was rather dry in this album, same goes for Miracle and Taking Chances. And the singing approach in this one was one-dimensional, especially as far as her phrasing is concerned. It is as if she did not pay attention to each individual word/phrase. She could have utilised more textures/layers of her voice to approach each song. Just listen to ''La Mer Et L'enfant'' in Sans Attendre or ''Que Toi Au Monde'' or ''Les Petits Pieds De Lea'' - they blow D'elles out of the water. Even ''Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour'' has more emotion despite her using the ''bedroom'' voice. This is because she took her time to record Sans Attendre, it came after a break and she was restful. D'elles was unfortunately recorded in between the Vegas residency and a World Tour. Edited by LukeD

The very example of a dry voice in all of her albums will be Loved Me Back To Life. Dry voice + Her voice are more forward/crisp = ouchy in the ears. Tho, Dolby Atmos kinda fixed that.

Add Encore Un Soir album except the EUS song because it was produced by JJG, vocals blends with the instrumentals.

Have you heard Ma Faille? It hurts my ears. It’s like the one who edits Céline’s voice oomph the tremble. That’s why she should hire only 1-2 producers so her voice will not be different in any song.

Her vocals in D’elles & Taking Chances may be a bit dry but still her vocals is still blending with the instrumentals. Which is why it’s still pleasing to hear.

Idk, I feel like “D’elles” has such a lovely and intimate feel to it, which is what I feel like they were going for. “Je be suis pas celle” is gorgeous as well, in addition to my favorites that I listed above.

I don’t necessarily find her voice “dry” on TC. Definitely brought more into the foreground, but not dry.

She actually took a lot less time (3 weeks) to record “Taking Chances” as opposed to “D’elles” which she took between 2 or 3 months to record.

It's such a shame. And a waste of Celine's talent. She's much more talented than her last few albums have demonstrated. Although, there are some gems on each.

I didn't found any difference in the Dolby Atmos mixes...

only that the sound is more "warm" and "rounded"...

Nothing different on the Dolby Atmos. The fact that Celine doesn’t do anything other than a lead on her songs also makes it kinda boring to dissect compared to other artists :(

I’m unsure about D’elles, but Celine does a lot of her own backup vocals throughout her discography.
