It worked here...."I'm Alive" was a summer hit. It was played quite often on the radio here..

Well...in Greece ANDHC was the foreign best selling cd of the year reaching almost double platinum status.The problem was not I'm alive getting released maybe a bit late imo but the Goodbye's

getting released as a single.THAT was a joke.Should i surrender or another uptempo song got released it would do so much better.i don't really care about One heart album's fate but ANDHC deserved better.Celine needed it to do better...

ANDHC wasn't really a long-term album, especially because it was a comeback album: the goal of it was really; BANG! "Céline's back!". And the moments/hype leading up to that. ANDHC didn't perform that well on the long-term because they chose to not promote it [properly] anymore after "I'm Alive". Sure, they could've picked a better single than GTSW, but I believe that song also had potential if it was promoted properly. But that was one of the factors, as well as the fact that "One Heart" was only released a year later and Céline herself was already in Vegas (in her head), summer '02 onwards.. oh and forget she didn't tour for it, which is also a very imporant factor. If she did, the album would've done even better. So IMO, the album didn't really get a fair chance.

Not really. This discussion stemmed from how Sony are or aren't promoting D'elles properly and we are merely looking at example from the past where they have or haven't done the same.

 

There is no doubt that GTSW killed the ANDHC album but in my opinion One Heart had nothing to do with the lack of longevity of promotion for ANDHC because One Heart wasn't even planned until Celine hastily left Belgium to sign the Chrysler deal.

And again WHO promoted OH - not Sony - it was René's strategic decision to involve Chrysler and they succeeded big big way. They payed for the Goodbye video off ANDHC and gave her 10 million dollars to record OH and IDAN.

I think something more upbeat would've been better, I also think Sony had different priorities at the time. We'll see what happens with the new cd this year.

Goodbye's The Saddest Word didn't kill the ANDHC album. Fact is, in our country, it went into our nationwide chart. And "I'm Alive" didn't. Though it's easy to remember the song and IA might have been more recognizeable than GTSW, but based on the charts and people around me, they like GTSW. GTSW is even better than ANDHC. and for your info, ANDHC also didn't get into our nationwide music chart.

I just bought a copy from amazon.cn. It's quite cheap only USD$3.5.

Does anybody have an idea how many albums has been sold for Celine's D'elles album? i would really, really appreciate it.(",)

 

 

D'elles is still hot. But I still don't it. But when i find it, i'll buy it without second thoughts. I've been hearing it's one of the best album package from Celine.

I have just read through the last 15 pages to find out exactly what versions there are *yawn*

 

I wan't to buy all 3 versions (from UK), and I think I have found all 3 here on Play.com, but can someone confirm that this is correct becuase £17.99 seems very cheap for the box set (which is the collector's edition, right?)...
