Concert residency in Paris 2026/2027! *Spoilers*

For personal reasons, I think I might have to sell my tickets for the 10 October show 😪

If I do end up having to sell them, would anyone be interested? Would only want what was paid for them back (which was £249.62 per ticket, or around €290). Would want to sell both tickets as a pair. Tickets are in section E, row 71.

Just some thoughts! I think her coming back after 6 years is very admirable! Especially after everything she went through that can be seen in the documentary.
Yes most songs are in a lower key, and her chesty belting is worse than before. But during the Courage tour and some years prior, she was clearly pushing herself way out of her limit when it came to the more chesty belts and the strain can be heard at many points. To me, her tone is far better than it was before, and the softer arrangements sound so much more vulnerable. 
Usually I am very critical of her voice, but given recent events, I don't think it would be fair of me to be overly harsh. And it's the first concert in six years! She's learning what she can do with her voice now, and I do think future shows will sound slightly stronger. With all this into consideration, saying things like "she sounds terrible" aren't really fair. I've been a fan for a long time, and this change in her voice, which is necessary, will not change that.

I took this photo last night. I recorded the audio of the whole show but it didn't turn out great.

I'm still totally thinking about this show and the thrill of having our Céline back.

I am glad she said a word to her international fans in English, but this is France and in France we speak French so I think it was handled perfectly.She's the best selling francophone artist in the world. That is a title she takes seriously.

I was hoping not to spoil anything for myself, and instead I gave in right away!

What an emotion, guys! Not a dream setlist (but that's just personal taste) but definitely a very respectable setlist.. The looks aren't among my favorites, but if that's what Céline wants and it makes her feel confident and strong, then that's perfectly fine ❤️
Yesterday morning I was really anxious, I even dreamed that I hugged Céline during the concert and triggered a crisis for her, and with last night's delay I admit I started to really worry...
The production, the stage and the overall Mood of the show want to put the voice front and center, and that's what pretty much everyone was hoping for.. yesterday the voice was shy and insecure, emotional and full of pathos, I'm sure that what we heard yesterday is only a small percentage of what Céline can still offer us: the 2025 tribute, TPOL with Hoda, and the soft vocalizations during the TV interviews for the documentary let us hear a much stronger voice...

People acting like she can’t belt in the 5th octave anymore when she was out there casually hitting D5s and Eb5s, and sustaining C#5s and F5s and higher. Go watch “Ne bouge pas” or “J’irai où tu iras” or “Destin”. She even mixed some A5s in DUAM. Perfectly in line with the range she’s always had. 
 

Sure, it’s obvious her voice is restricted on some types of notes, and she seems to struggle more with some songs than others, but it’s not that dramatic - and her tone is beautiful. Ironically, it’s the lipped vocals on the biggest hits that are arguably ‘subpar’, while the live ones on the French songs are really good but got overlooked. Anyway, it will only improve as the shows progress.

By the way, the songs played over the end credits of the show were "Map to My Heart" and "Somebody Loves Somebody".

This is how I felt interestingly enough- some of her live vocals were far stronger than (especially for me) the IACBTMN track. Songs like Je Chanterai she really gave her all.

And a ballad right after that, I don’t remember what it was but I’m pretty sure it was from LMBTL or newer.

Edit: I notice you said credits, the songs I mentioned were played after the credits finished.

I too went to the show last night.

I thought I could not admire this woman more, but I was wrong. The resilience she showed us yesterday was nothing short of spectacular. To think this is a woman that  could not sing 3 years ago...

It is clear that she's singing in a way that's much more deliberate than before, when everything used to come so naturally to her. You can often see her carefully approaching a note. Her tone is clear, beautiful and her delivery is filled with meaning, though perhaps not as technically powerful as before.

But then sometimes, she forgets to think, wants to let loose and that's usually when the notes don't come out the way they should.

It's still a work in progress I'm sure (it's hard to let go of 50 year old habits) but I can only imagine how exhausting and at times discouraging it must  be for her, to have to think about every note when she never needed to.

But she still does it, out of sheer determination, because she wants nothing more than to sing for us.

The woman continues to amaze me.

I’m over the bun, but I will digress and admit she looked stunning yesterday. 😍

Annie is a more contemporary, sophisticated stylist. I love what she does with Céline. I think the dress she wore with the feather is a tad odd, but maybe it’s one of those dresses that presents better in person. But with the feathers ❤️

I did not like how Law styled Céline at all. There were some good ones, but her stage outfits… 😬

I rarely post these days because so many criticize for anything that is said if everything is not perceived as awesome.... but I went to the concert last night and since I sat in the 2nd row center I think I have had a good view of everything from so close. First a round of short questions.

The voice? it's truly amazing live, the recordings don't do justice, she was very careful with every note she did as it was clearly the most stressful concert for her but she sounds really GOOD. 

The show? Was it important? Yes. Was it emotional? Extremely! Was it good? Yes. I liked it but don't love it, it's nowhere near 2016 setlist 

It's also the first show ever that, as some of you pointed out, has some surprising highs and surprising lows which are so obvious...

Highlights

1. ONCP - It's AMAZING, loved that they continued playing the instrumental during the ovation and that they didn't stop, the ovation became part of it

2. Destin, EUS, LDSLP, TLDH, NBP, JC, DMDB, PQTME, SSDA - all AMAZING! the French part really stood out love the transitions

3. new arrangements for all old songs (French and English), maybe not for forever, but finally something fresh and it was so interesting!

4. the stage - it's hard to actually dscribe the stage because it's basically empty, apart from those columns there is literally nothing and sometimes even the band (or part of it is hidden) BUT this gives an amazing spotlight on Celine, the focus is all on her, It's her and the stage. Simply stunning, we don't need more

5. The voice which is gentle and soft and you could see that she put a lot of effort to sing technically well and have good pronounciation, she will improve even more when the stress will disappear and she will get used to the new show

6. Celine's energy and warmth - it's soooooo good to just be with her around

 

Average moments

1. The Chase - as much as I loved this song and it's great she brought it live, it was definitely a low moment for general public + she needs to get used to singing it live, was struggling a bit

2. MHWGO - I loved the surprise and that it was finally moved, also the new instrumentals were great BUT it lost some charm... 1) the video interlude has nothing do with it 2) the costume is hideous for this song, I needed more time for MHWGO and she literally jumped to BATB without even giving us time to clap

3. LCMM - appreciate the placement and choir but it could have been left behind

 

Low moments:

1. Dansons - it's the most boring song in the whole show, they will probably never cut it because of the video interlude where she dances, but it's SO boring live

2. IA/TTWII - as much as I liked their arrangments, I hate those totally unnecessary covers that were interwoven which made both songs lost their full meaning and exposure, especially TTWII was super short

3. BATB/ABM/TP - I really think we could live without them, especially in the French show, if Barnev has to sing something do IYA at least. Also, I feel they are pushing for ABM too much, I was so happy that it was not in the concert that when it showed up at the end I was even more disappointed that it's back

4. MHWGO interlude is so WEIRD - the desert has nothing to do with the song, Celine looks weird/ a la IA video in Shakira's concert/ there is a spaceship or something at the end? SO WEIRD

5. the opera - while I understand the REASON, everybody was just sitting and asking what it was and didn't really enjoy it, this was maybe the only second time people sat in the front

6. lack of Celine's talking - some transitions between the songs were weird or long. She probably didn't want to talk much so that she is not to teary but it was not enough. I don't mean 20min Ashes bla bla bla speech but she literally barely talk. She didn't leave time for ovations between songs, didn't comment the songs (like a transition between MHWGO and BATB could have been a sentence of doing movie songs), or a comment before/after the opera - maybe then the opera would make more sense, because we know why she chose it but not everybody + nobody knows what the song is about and you couldn't understand as it was neither in French nor English, a comment was missing

 

MISSING 

Where the hell is BPM? People were literally singing BPM while leaving the stadium and she didn't do it even though Ycare was in the arena

ANDHC - it's OBJECTIVELY missing in this setlist. I don't get it. Celine is literally paraphrasing the whole song in her speech : waiting for so long, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, then seeing the sun (I was waiting for so long, everyone told me to be strong, I see the light in the sky, it's blinding me, I've been touch with love)

 

After PQTME there is kind of a mosh pit even though there is not a lot space but they literally told us to come closer

And it was so weird to hear Map to my heart, Somebody loves somebody and Bewitched bothered and bewildered while leaving. So different from what is included in the show. They were surely not rehearsed, my guess they might be playing just random songs while people leave

 

Take it or leave it. It's a solid show but leaves to be extremely desired. It gives hope though that it's not the end, just a new beginning

Overall for me… I might get flack for this, but  though “shaky” in moments her vocals last night for me are better than anything from the CWT. 

It was clear to me as a fan for 30 years, she held back last night. And her voice has improved since she has had treatment.

You are completely missing the point.  Celine Dion is the definition of a legendary artist and these shows will make that solidify in the history books and people’s hearts for decades.  It’s the story, the ups and the downs, and what she has overcome to get where she is now.  

Julie Andrew’s lost her voice - that didn’t diminish her status as an excellent singer, and she will always be known as so.  

What Celine did last night and will continue to do, is show the world she is the greatest most passionate singer there is in modern history.  Her determination shows those people who thought Celine was a phoney for all those years at a time she hit every note, that this is someone who has pure passion for art and music and will move hell and earth to reach her goal. It’s a human story. It’s moving.  It’s the best story in music history. That’s the point.

I liked this part. I think this is what need to keep in our mind. It felt she finally felt a way to play a lot more with her voice.
