Concert residency in Paris 2026/2027! *Spoilers*

Looks like Eric Tewalt (ex-band member) is a bit miffed that the horn section wasn't included (I've included the screen shot), I see he unfollowed Céline as well. 

Honestly I don't miss the horn section at all, but I do understand what a bummer it must be to see all of the old gang reunited for such a historic run of shows and not be part of it. 

But I wouldn't burn bridges if I were him, you never know what opportunities the future may hold.

I agree, “Courage” is beautiful in this show, but for me it was one of the highlights of each CWT show - it was one of the songs she sounded beautiful on, and the visuals were great too. Same goes for the studio version.

I didn't get to go to CWT but in every video I saw she didn't sound too great doing it live. Sometimes it seemed quicker than the album version, kind of rushed. I absolutely love that song and album so I guess it was hard to hear it in her struggling voice. Now I think it's even better than the album.

Reminds me of when they got rid of her old violinist and he was moaning too online that he was let go… lol.

Scott is a genius.

Let’s face it, he and his band are MUCH superior to Mégo and his.

One of the many great decisions made as part of Céline’s revamped image in 2015-2016.

It’s great that Danson’s was removed, they tweaked something to now make Courage amazing and I am starting to like LCMM.

Still think another song should be added and I still find the video interludes boring especially the ballet video which we seen something similar in the Courage tour, but it’s such a beautiful, classy, relaxed and cosy show if that makes sense. 

Seeing so many people online seeing Céline live for the very first time… of all ages and it’s really heart warming to see.

Will hopefully be back in October or definitely in  May.

 Scott and his band have allowed the instrumental sections of her songs to shine a lot more! Instrumental arrangements before from Mego sometimes sounded lacking but that's not the case now. Even some of the slower songs sound a lot better. Ziggy comes to mind. It was slower with Mego and dragged on more, but with Scott it's more interesting and the arrangement is far superior! TTWII when it was done in full is another example.

I think a big difference is too, that if Celine said to Scott she didn’t like something and wanted to change it, or modify something, he’d be more than willing to and genuinely seems to love rediscovering her discography and expanding and building upon it… where as Mego seemed to have this, I don’t know, almost “I know best and what I say goes, we don’t need to change anything” attitude. I mean Scott has never written himself a song about himself for Celine to sing on stage 💀

That could very well be because when they met Celine was such a young woman and Rene took care of everything.  Mego was fantastic in the very early days all the way until the millennium.  I guess as an adult managing herself, she could get what she wanted out of Scott.  And they truly shine together.

What Scott is doing now with the arrangements is something that I expected for her 2011 orchestra residency.

I think if they ever go back for something like that he will create magic.

That not true.. Jean Seb  only said he was fired in 8 minutes after 20 years of collaboration and was violent for him. We must understand this. After I saw all publications about Celine and there were good words for her.

Yeah … I agree.

Mego was hired at a time where he did know best.  And he did good for long time… but he became stagnant. I can’t remember a great arrangement he did for anything after 2000…. Scott came in and did a banger job on SLP concert in Quebec and I think the second vegas residency with the orchestra idea was born from that night.  For me he’s superior to Mego with are arrangements over all. For example he couldn’t figure out a way for TTWII to shine; Every time he did that one it sounded like a watered down bore fest.

Off-topic: Is Celine treating herself to a day or a few hours in Paris with her boys? I haven't seen her kids in a long time... they've been in Paris for four weeks—how often have they actually left through the front entrance? Or are they experiencing "Midnight in Paris"?

They’ve left and come back a few times, you can find videos online. In addition to that, they could well have left without being seen at times.

I think some of his arrangements after 2000 were pretty solid. The introduction of a full orchestra to the second Vegas show and a proper brass band changed her sound a lot. Look at the sax arrangement in Je sais pas for instance during Céline...une seule fois, it's amazing. Fair enough, he may take taken inspiration from the orchestra in Sur les plaines, but I think a lot of the songs around that 2011-2015 era worked pretty well.

He definitely struggled with modernising uptempo songs though, TTWII as you say and things like Shadow of Love were totally flat and dull.

 Nope, noone has shared yesterdays concert. We do have a google drive link to the twitch stream but only from SSDA onwards. I think the link was posted on page 346. I'm assuming you saw we have a full audio and mostly complete video of the September 25 show.

The phrasing is also interesting. He was not invited and he frames that as a Celine losing her horn player, therefore as her loss.

Plus he seems to be having a tantrum, really childish behaviour. Narcissistic traits all over. 😫

I take that as… he doesn’t believe Celine made the decision and therefore is paying the price 😂 

still very narcissistic but I think he’s aiming his frustration at Scott Price. And to be honest I’m sure he’s the one who made the calls on what and who was needed for this production.

Regardless, being a whinny bitttch might cost him in the future.

I think the only good with horns is where they use it back in Une Seule Fois 2013 during “Je Sais Pas”. That’s it! It’s not good for uptempos.
