Well she said they recorded enough songs for at least 2 albums… maybe that’s the same shelf where PMLALS is sitting, and people just need to chill out and wait! :D

I’m happy to wait for PMLALS. I’m assuming it’s for the documentary.

We have plenty of new stuff to enjoy right now.

Yeah, it's interesting to know this beautiful song was sitting on a shelf — and wasn't included on Courage.

Like I said before, they got rid of the fillers first with the Courage album while the good stuff was kept for some more important occasions

I think there are some gems on Courage.

And I think Celine probably chose some of her favorites for it.

With that said, some of Celine’s favorites might not be OUR favorites. She would’ve had a very different career if she was the only one calling the shots back in the day.

AMEN, just remember how much she wanted and had to wait (15 years?) to record Katrina and the Waves's "That's Just The Woman In Me" with all the bedroom voice in her heart

I do love that song

That’s very true… I think “The Reason” comes to mind…it’s funny because Rene considered the song “edgy” but anyone who pays any attention knows it’s probably one of Celine’s favorite songs she’s recorded in English… she fought for it to be included in the Celine residency. She’s brought it out ALOT in tours and concerts and I think it usually ends up getting dropped due to the vocal demand. Even in her first few English stops on the CWT she tried to bring it out again. We know she wasn’t a fan of MHWGO, but Rene was. We know one of Renes favorite songs Celine has recorded was “A song For You” for the TC album.

I think she recorded alot of songs that Rene enjoyed back in the day… and now she’s picking her favorites, I will say I think the majority of the reason most of us are fans of Celine is because of the influence Rene had… it just wasn’t said. I have to say I think for the most part Rene had a better ear for songs than Celine… but it’s weird because she’s the singer.

Céline has said in interviews that her favorites are the “B sides”, the songs most don’t remember.

I think a lot of what she likes is reflected in her set lists - Bowie, Queen covers, You’re the Voice, things like Refuse to Dance (my personal fave), the lesser-known songs she choose for her 2016 tour right after Rene’s passing. I think that’s why the 2016 tour was her most spectacular - it was one she most connected with on a personal level and it showed.

Rene knew what it took to build an international career. He knew to choose the best people, the best songs, etc. He was ready for it. Celine was still pretty young and trusted that Rene knew how to get to the mountaintop.

Celine possessed one of the greatest voices of all time.

And they both had amazing work ethic. A perfect team.

It’s true that Celine is a rock fan at heart…. All the covers she chooses are in a very similar vein. I think Rene pushed along with Sony for pop love ballad route. But that’s what made her who she is today after all… I think that’s what she means when she says “she has nothing to prove anymore” when she records a album… I think it’s her saying that she doesn’t care about maintaining that pop diva image anymore. She sings the necessary pop diva hits that she HAS to like MHWGO, ABM and BYLM (to name a few )so that the fans don’t riot lol

I gotta say tho, I’m a fan of the ballad Celine with Crystal clear vocals.

She was definitely a rocker chick in the late 80s/ early 90s, before she got steered in the MOR balladeer direction. It’s in her music at the time, her clothes, her performance style.

And we all love the b sides.

If only they would have skipped the massive tours for the money and just do smaller venues and do the b-sides tour she wanted to do

It's a shame we didn't get a thing from the 2016 tour. It was amazing.

There's early interviews where she says she can sing all styles of music, and she likes all styles. But I think she definitely was most influenced by the rocker stuff she grew up, as she said so many times:

"The Doobie Brothers, Creedence, Janis Joplin"

It is times like these that I wish I lived in Québec! :pinch: ^_^

When I go to Quebec with friends or to visit family I always listen to the radio. You never know what Céline song you might hear and it’s an absolute delight.

Well top 20 albums for next week just posted at hits daily double. Love Again soundtrack not in the top 20 and number 20 will only sell about. 26,000 copies. I hope she at least makes top 40….
Posted
I don’t expect the soundtrack to have many full copies sold. People who purchase music (specifically Celine) most likely have the classics on her other albums already in their library, and will individually purchase only the 5 new songs.

Why do I keep reading that “The Gift” is lacking a verse? It has 2 verses, 3 choruses, 2 post choruses, and a bridge lol.

Do we know the reason why the 2016 French concert release was cancelled last minute? It was definitely her best French speaking tour. Such a shame not being able to enjoy it on DVD Edited by ryba

A profile on Sean Fischer talks about Waiting On You

SEAN FISCHER GOES GLOBAL

“Aiding Fischer’s cause are his language skills (he’s fluent in English, French, and Spanish) and proficiency in a wide range of musical genres. “I may be up there as one of the most diverse producers in Canada,” he says. “I go from working on a Celine Dion ballad, to a Mexican tropical house re-mix, as French Braids. That diversity keeps me refreshed creatively.”

The Dion song referenced is the superstar’s new song “Waiting on You,“ featured in the movie (in which she also appears) Love Again, and that’s a career-boosting placement. “That song came out of a writing session with Liz Rodrigues six years ago,” he recalls. “For Celine, they took my demo and fully re-created it, with a 70-piece symphony orchestra. When I heard it, I literally dropped to the ground and started crying my eyes out. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard!” “

so it’s confirmed, this one is also from the Courage sessions 6 years ago

So, does that mean only “Love Again” is the only recent recorded song of Céline, the rest are from Courage era
