Haha this sentence by a lot of you makes me smile. Maybe it is because she started to make such average and insignificant songs in her French repertoire since a long time ago too.

 

Once again a meh song, with absolutely no ambition, and absolutely generic.

y’all are so critical :D I appreciate the song, because I think that quality wise it is on a much higher level than 95% of the songs on Courage. But yes, in general I also agree that her recent recordings lack quality for the most part.

If songs like ''If Love Is Out The Question'', ''Love By Another Name'', ''If I Were You'', ''Little Bit Of Love'', ''Loving Proof'', ''No Living Without Loving You'', ''Real Emotion'', ''Your Light'', ''Treat Her Like A Lady'', ''Rain-Tax (It Is Inevitable)'', ''Super Love'', ''Coulda Woulda Shoulda'', ''New Dawn'', ''Right Next To The Right One'' (and so on - I am sure you get the picture) made it to the final cut, then ''Love Again'' would definitely stand a chance!

The old days are long over. And this new song checks a lot of boxes. It's a sweet and sincere delivery from Celine. It speaks to Celine's own personal hardships losing Rene. And it will appeal to her casual fanbase (unlike trendier songs she's been releasing in English over the past several years). While the production isn't perfect or groundbreaking, I still find the song touching. Like I said before, I'm hoping the Rosie and Oprah audiences who adored Celine back in the day -- but haven't been keeping up with her -- will find their way to this lovely song and movie. I hate that this picture is the one they choose to promote this single, it’s not flattering.

I think “Right Next To The Right One” may be the worst Celine song of all time for me, but I love “Coulda Woulda Shoulda”!

I guess she never can please everyone, for my part I absolutely love love again. And some "worst" songs by her like treat her like a lady, little bit of love, lovin proof, right next to the right one, coulda woulda shoulda, if love is out of the question and so on are all songs I really love too. For me every Celine song has something unique and special. There's no bad song of her, I love them all quite a lot. I think I'm an easy to please fan :) interesting how different eachothers tastes are here

I think “Right Next To The Right One” may be the worst Celine song of all time for me, but I love “Coulda Woulda Shoulda”!

I like some of these songs as well, do not get me wrong. But they are clear filler material to me. Their respective albums would be great even without them.

Love it. Really do.

 

Crucially I find myself humming it hours later, so it’s clearly memorable. It’s simple, understated and beautiful. Reminds me of something that would be on the “Miracle” album. It really works. I hope the song and the movie finds an audience.

Agree with all of those EXCEPT Little bit of Love. It’s so fun!

So it peaked at #5 on Youtube trending? When I checked like an hour ago it was back to #40 trending.

 

 

Edit: the reaction videos from Celine fans were really great to watch, made you connect with the song even more in that moment.

I think the song is fresh for a lot of people because Celine is not having to vocally go all out, use power, sing high belts, etc. in this song. It's her soft voice, some speech-level-singing, and just her natural gift shining through with her trademark vocal control.

 

Imperfections was that too, but the pronunciation was weird.

I completely disagree. It's one of the more flattering pictures I've seen of her in some time. Especially since they put a turtleneck on her - which shaves years of age from her appearance.

90% of these songs are much better than Love Again. Not a very good argument lol.

Honestly this song is so boring and bland. Cheesy lyrics and production, no climax. Can't believe so many people are eating it up.
