These songwriters should be hired to write and produce a full album for Celine. This mixed bag that was Courage was lacking quality for the most part. Aside from few exceptions, the songs on Courage were too lame and too forgettable. Edited by ryba

Okay I finally listened to it!! I actually love it! :wub:

 

Miles better than anything she’s done recently, no bedroom voice and all emotion.. I felt she could’ve wrote this that’s how in touch with emotion she was.

 

This definitely is not a courage leftover… her voice is well rested I’m willing bet this was recorded during the covid era. Also they say it was written especially for this movie.

 

I love it!!!!!

It's not the dry bedroom voice, but it is a very affected voice and style she's using. I do think people would struggle to identify Celine as the singer if they heard it unannounced on the radio.

 

Part of me wants to hear the song in the straightforward Celine voice, with her natural delivery.

Nahh it’s clear as day it’s Celine… her voice mannerisms are still there especially at the bridge and ending. This is way more Celine recognized from the get go than something like Superwoman or Heart of Glass or Soul.

OMG this is so much better than I expected...

The song is so beautiful... the kind of song she would do in french...

I really liked the technique she used, reminds me of some songs from Miracle...

Although it doesn't seems to be, this is so hard to do... and she did perfectly!

The lyrics are lovely...

I can't stop listening to it :wub:

Celine delivered again! :clap:

 

The new song is beautifully written and sung - so soft, touching and meaningful. I loved it. :wub: Crystal clear vocals and careful production.

 

We are so lucky to be her fans! It amazes how she delivers such quality songs a good 42 F****** YEARS after she first got into a recording studio. She is LEGEND!

Didn’t have high expectations based on the clip in the trailer and unfortunately I don’t like it.

Too soft and boring for me, also don’t care much for this way of singing, or maybe it’s how it’s produced? I would’ve preferred the fuller, deeper & clear sound of her voice like on her cover of Wicked Games. Oh well. Glad for everyone here who seem to like it. Just not for me, sorry.

This is way more Celine recognized from the get go than something like Superwoman or Heart of Glass or Soul.

 

Oh I definitely agree about that. Compared with those as alternatives, there's no reason to be persnickety. :giggle:

 

The closest comparisons I can make (and it's probably more subtle in this song) is the tonal approach she tried on "The Chase" and "I Got Nothin' Left". This is one of her best songs and clear vocal deliveries in recent years, but imo you can hear certain affectations. For example, at 1:20 contrast the way she sings the word fades with healing just a couple seconds later.

The titles of the songs are very weird, but I am so desperately wanting to hear them

I only find ''I'll Be'' to be somewhat awkward as I am not sure what it is in reference to. Other than that the titles seem very typical for a Celine release.

So it looks like there wasn't a recorded message from Celine on Good Morning America, just a "first look of the video." Bummer! I wish we would get something from her to promote the new movie/soundtrack!

The movie/soundtrack is promoted anyway and that's good!

Wow surprising how good it is doing on Itunes, it's not doing that great in YouTube, maybe Sony hasn't promoted yet

It reached 50k views on YT within 5 hours. If it continues like that it might end up at 200k+ within the first 24 hours which is decent.

Dan wrote “Didn’t know Love” for LMBTL Album… which for me is a great song it was the bedroom vocals that ruined it for me overall.

Nice to see John Doelp again.

A familiar name I long have not read in Connection with Celine and who was cited on the back and or in the booklet of every 90s Celine Album.

Love again reminds me a lot about the song Stand by your side in One Heart 2003 same style of singing (prefer SBYS bigger climax)

I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s such a lovely song. I didn’t have high expectations. I was anticipating more vocals like the Courage songs. But - like others have said - it’s such a gentle, fragile delivery from Celine. With much clearer singing. And the lyrics are touching - especially considering what Celine’s been through with the loss of Rene. I think it’s the perfect song for her right now. I hope her new music and film are a success! I’ll probably buy it on iTunes just to see her climb the chart… it’s such a rare opportunity.

 

And I can see this being a beautiful song live.

 

Hopefully this will capture the attention of Celine’s more casual fans who haven’t been keeping up with her music in recent years.
