The high pitched way of singing made me think of I got nothing left. It's not a bad song, but it's not the greatest either. Hopefully the other songs will have a bit more umpf!

Love the song! So good to finally hear a new song of hers. Hope we will hear from her soon though! this just makes me realize how much I do really miss her. It’s been 3 years since we have seen her on stage, but yet it feels like an eternity.

 

I think the song wanted to have soft verses so they had her sing head voice to not overpower. Hopefully, as others have said, the other songs will have more oompf. I do love the bridge on this song though!

I guess they didn’t have time to change the soundtrack or was it already slated for a release that week? Not sure. Maybe it will reflect a change here soon. The movie was just changed the other day!

After a first listen I feel that it's a nice song written for a movie and nothing more. It has the same feel as when we heard it in the trailer but am happy they have it a little beat near the end.

I'll be giving it a few more listens later today due to the fact I was working and couldn't give my full attention to the lyrics.

I think she really approached this song with a very specific interpretation: very gentle, empathetic, like talking to someone who's in a very dark place. It's a very humble vocal, but she does some interesting things with it; she conveys the sense that she feels what the person she is singing to feels. It's like a lullaby for an adult. You can feel the sincerity.

 

The vocal technique she uses is also very rustic in a way. It's unpolished. Even the vibrato is deliberately "in the throat" -- it's a breathless vocal, quite literally at times. You can feel that her heart is in her throat.

 

It's a classic Celine vocal, not because it's bombastic -- that's not what makes her Celine. It's her artistry that makes her the legend that she is.

It's so bittersweet getting a new Céline song. Céline is singing at a pitch and height that is sustainable. This reminds me of just how much I miss her.
