New Las Vegas residency show!

Guys how long has it been since Katy finished in RW - about 1.5 months ago? I don’t follow RW or the theatre on any socials but I’m guessing they haven’t announced any new headliners since? I don’t know how the Vegas thing works in terms of announcing new headliners when a resident act leaves. Is this a normal gap does anyone know? Surely in terms of revenue etc the theatre has to keep things moving. If it’s not Celine they should be announcing pretty soon I would have guessed.

Luke Bryan started his final run at RW last night. His final show is a week from today (Jan 6) and since we didn't get any announcement after Katy Perry finished her show, my guess has always been, regardless of whether it's Celine or someone else, that any announcement of a new resident artist at RW would happen after Luke finished his show. I'd say that following Monday, Jan. 8th, at the absolute earliest but it could be later than that. I'd hope that any announcement would be made before the end of January.

I’ve been hearing rumblings of a possible RW residency from Miley Cyrus. I’m hoping for Celine.

A Miley Cyrus residency baffles me. How times have changed. I could see her at a smaller, trendier venue.

I also just heard of a rumor that Britney Spears might come back to Vegas but, as far as I know, her and Miley have sworn off the music business, up to and including performing. shrug.gif

….

I never heard that Miley was over the business but I did hear that about Britney today actually, ( saying she’ll never return to music business)

I just hope we get answers soon. It’s truly bizarre to not hear an update on Celine’s health after those 2 appearances, and her team with a bar already set so low… hasn’t posted anything in over a month.

Here's the story (back in May of last year) about Miley not touring anymore. I guess there's nothing against her doing a residency, but at this point they're pretty much the same thing, just with Vegas it's in one spot. Time will tell.

Resorts World has been trying to get Britney for months. They displayed a photo of her with a "Resorts World Loves Britney" on the entire facade. Doubt she'll ever come back but who knows.

Miley does not want to tour anymore but apparently she's considering a Vegas residency so RW is def an option.

Luke Bryans final show is tomorrow night. Surely a new headliner has to be announced soon, whether it’s Celine or not. I don’t think RW will want to sit with only 1 headliner (Carrie Underwood) on the books for too long. Interesting few weeks ahead.

I’m back to thinking Celine won’t be back anytime soon. The silence is deafening.

Looked up who promoted Miley's last big tour, in this case the Bangerz tour, and that was LiveNation. Now, I also read that there was a bidding war between them and AEG for who would get the deal, so I have no idea who currently promotes her. I'm going to go out on a limb and say LiveNation and that would either have her at CP or Planet Hollywood if that's the case. shrug.gif

I definitely think we'll know before the month is up about a new resident, whether that's Celine or someone else. Regarding the silence, you could be right. That or she's just enjoying the quiet before the storm. We'll see soon enough.

i am getting worried for real now....

maybe it is a quiet before the queit and not storm...

i mean , before i used to be more hopeful - she has so much money and can afford the best possible treatment, etc

but without updates and lack of holiday message on her social media , i am honestly starting to get worried about her state and the future.

PS i just noticed how her shawl / cape has moon ornament :)

Unfortunately, all the money in the world can't buy you a new health. SPS can be very tough to live with, I know someone that has it and that person can not hold a coffee for example, holding the cup with her hand that all of a sudden gets stiff and she burns herself. It's the little things we don't think off. And that's not even mentioning the physical pain when the muscle gets stiff. Celine's hand can get stuck while holding the mic, her leg can decide "no more" and stop moving, her neck can get stuck, we don't know how severe her case is but it is real, it can be unpredictable and it is very difficult to get better.

I don't have much hope but we'll see. Hopefully Celine will prove us wrong :) One thing we know for sure is that if she ever comes back, it will be with RW. And studio sessions are still doable cause she can do them whenever she's fine so it does not mean no more new music. At least for now.

Her walking around and dancing in those two recent events made me relieved in a way because honestly, by that time, I'd really believed she was bedbound.

It's just that this is the nature of the disease: in worse times you can even be bedridden, in better times you can function relatively normally. This is said by the patients themselves, their caregivers and doctors. Only patients with the most advanced disease, which could not be stabilized earlier, are immobilized in bed for good. Unfortunately, there are also such unlucky patients.

BTW, such high variability of phases and symptoms has its bad sides: it makes planning, such as professional activity, very difficult and sometimes impossible. But it also has good sides: even in bad periods, it allows not to lose hope (which distinguishes SPS from many neurodegenerative diseases).

I have a feeling that she will make an announcement after April

Honestly, if Celine is rearing and ready to get back, I think it's going to be sooner rather than later. I don't see Resorts World waiting any longer if they have her, or any other person, on the books. I still think we're looking at a June/July return at the absolute earliest. And I know that some people might get mad that she's returning to the stage 2-3 months after canceled Courage dates but I think that it'll go over a lot better than people think. I think we all want her back on the stage and Vegas is going to be so much better for her in this stage of her life with SPS. As far as I'm concerned, I think her touring days are effectively over until further notice. I think we should all be prepared for a long Vegas stint again but just be glad that if she does return that she's back. Time will tell. This could be a very interesting week to two weeks.

what if she comes back with some kind of a reality show ? or talk show? or even a podcast?

or some kind of a thing that doesn't really involve much dancing and singing.

something that will help her to still enjoy the interaction with fans and yet not to be too exhausting on the body....

Resorts World just made their farewell post for Luke Bryan. Hopefully, we aren't too far away from an announcement of the next resident, whomever that may be. Things may get interesting soon. Fingers crossed.

So then there is this rumour....

Return of Céline? Resorts World believes in it since they have decided to reserve the entire month of next November for Céline's possible return... To be continued!! ️#CelineDion #NewsCelineDion

Yea but there has been that rumor of "Resorts World blocking a whole month in their schedule for Celine" during the past 2 years. I remember hearing about those "rumors" from random social media sites in 2022 & last year in 2023, (which we all know did not come true at all!)

Is there any credibility in this 'NewsCeline Dion" account? I have seen their posts before on Twitter, (nka 'X',) but it looks many of their posts are sketchy and not very realistic.

Carrie's last show in the fall is Oct. 26th and that would be 6 months out from a May announcement. hmm.gif

Might not work with my schedule if I get a teaching job, but I digress. glare.gif

Well don't get your hopes too much on this one post about Celine making a "comeback" anytime soon (or ever depending on her health at this point.) So besides the one post from that fan account named "News Celine Dion" (who none of us even knows who that is, so I think it is just a random fan account among the hundreds of other fan accounts on social media these days lol, welcome to 2024 lol,) what other "proof" do we have of Celine's "comeback"? There has been no post from her social media in almost 2 months, she has pretty much since disappeared after her 2 appearances, there has been no mentions of Celine's Vegas residency, or a new album, or any other Celine-related project happening anytime soon. So far it is only a cryptic post from some fan account that has mentioned anything about this Vegas residency actually happening, & not a peep from any other sources... So don't be surprised that this is just another rumor in the mill!

Umm nobody said that Celine is "back", except for one random fan account on social media... Again I highly doubt this person has any "insider info" than Claudette does lol

Exactly! Finally there is some "Voices of Reason" in the Celine fandom!

I know that everybody is trying to "stay positive", but being realistic, after researching this disorder, it sounds very similar to Parkinson's disease & MS, which are both very progressive & neurodegenerative, & also have no cures just like SPS! Yes there are a few good sides, but unfortunately due to very little research done on this disease, & very little treatments available to treat SPS (similar to Parkinson's & MS as well,) there are alot more bad sides than any of us truly know.

Again look at Michael J. Fox & Linda Ronstadt, both of them have had to retire from their careers early because of Parkinson's! Yes I know it is not the same exact disease that Celine has, but they are very similar to each other. Parkinson's has affected Michael & Linda so badly that both of them have had to unfortunately end their careers early due to such major health issues that have no cures, just like what Celine is currently going through now with SPS. I know everybody is "magically hoping" that Celine will "just wake up one day being totally healthy & cured from SPS forever", & yes I do wish that as well, but I am also being realistic, just like you are "Zofia", about Celine's health & that there are no "magic cures" for this.

I listened to the podcast which mentioned RW holding the theatre for November. It’s a good listen. I love how they basically say don’t listen to Claudette lol.

Some of their info isn’t 100%. They mention Linda moving in to help even though we know she’s been there for years.

Starts from 23.08 if anyone wants to listen:

The only rational motivation for the "hope for November " that I can think of is the possibility that the doctors nevertheless risked putting her through the HSCT procedure.

This would explain the deafening silence of recent months, including the holidays. Perhaps the standard "second line of defense" methods (IVIG, plasmapheresis, Rituximab) were not working sufficiently, and it was decided to launch a "third line of defense" - temporarily, this is the only method that gives SPS patients hope for remission (other than spontaneous). The treatment is harsh, excluding the patient from active life for about six months; it offers no guarantees, but has so far yielded improvement in about 60% of cases, including clinical remission in about 30% (this statistic is subject to error, as it is based on a small number of trials). It is not a recommended method due to the rarity of the disease, the small number of trials, cost and potential risks, so it is usually reserved for severe cases, but Céline is arguably a "special case."

Of course, this is just pure speculation. Time will tell.
