Mariah's "residency" is apparently to celebrate her album Emancipation of Mimi. She'll sing mostly this album + a couple other classics.

 

Wouldn't it be cool if Celine did the same? "Let's Celebrate About Love" just like 10 exclusive shows for that about LTAL album!

Oh yes with all the anniversaries they could easily done it.

Imagine the whole album Celine Dion being performed with a full orchestra. One can dream.

Obviously they have to play a few of the classics, but even these could be changed up after every run, but ditch the tribute section for more of her rare songs instead and not finish on MHWGO would be a welcome start.

I thought that if she returns - after being so close to stopping singing forever, she might want to sing songs she's never/rarely performed.

 

Unfortunately, this might translate to even more covers than her own songs. But hopefully, she will revise her impressive discography.

I’ve been a complainer here for years taking about the lack artistry and creativity with her setlists as far as her shows are involved. And you won’t catch me complaining AT ALL if she does just returns… I’ll take the most boring setlist at this point.

Yes, we should agree that Celine can perform whatever she likes.

 

However, if we speak strictly on a commercial level, she should perform/promote the songs that are responsible for her streaming numbers. Based on that, a setlist should include:

• My Heart Will Go On
  
• Because You Loved Me
  
• It's All Coming Back To Me Now
  
• The Power Of Love
  
• All By Myself
  
• I'm Alive
  
• Beauty And The Beast
  
• The Prayer
  
• Ashes
  
• That's The Way It Is

To me these songs are absolutely mandatory. Moderately successful songs (in terms of streaming that now leads the music industry) should also be considered occasionally:

• To Love You More
  

She does not need to perform all of them at all times. This would also leave room for some rarities. These need to be chosen based on their streaming numbers as well:

Again, she doesn't have to perform all of them. This can leave room to add a couple covers that she likes. And please no more LCMM. It's a flop and that won't change!

When it looked like she was coming back and opening the RW theatre, I wanted so badly for her to exceed the bar she had set with her imaginative setlists and technical ambition a la 2013. A show with technical effects matching or exceeding the 1st iteration of her 2nd residency at CP with a setlist like she had on one of her summer tours in 2016-2017 would have been glorious. And after seeing clips and pictures from Carrie, Luke, and Katy's shows, we know the RW theatre can do some pretty impressive stuff, and I wanted Celine to even kick their asses in the show department.

 

Now... she could just stand there for an hour and a half with no technical effects whatsoever and just sing her heart out to anything and everything and I'd be so content.

Proposal for 2012? Do you mean 2010 in Vancouver? I wasn’t really following at that time, what exactly went down?

 

(Incidentally, I was one of the many volunteer performers for the opening of London 2012. Just the coolest experience! Highly recommend.)

I was just trying to get the "connection" between Celine & Mariah that you & "KyleVan" was trying to make after Mariah announced having a new Vegas residency. & again sorry but I do NOT see any "connections" between Celine & Mariah, especially now. They are both at different phases & situations in their lives & careers. I know you all think just because Mariah announces something, Celine will too. But Mariah is not going through the same situation Celine is right now:

 

1. Mariah is not suffering from SPS like Celine is, & she is in much better health (except for the vocal nodules, but Mariah has been dealing with that since the late 90s/early 2000s & sorry but vocal nodules are NOTHING compared to SPS!)

 

2. Also unlike Celine, Mariah has NOT also been out of the public eye for 3-4 years like Celine has. Since late 2020/early 2021 (once live concerts & events started to come back & all after the Covid lockdowns finally ended & everything started to "open back up",) Mariah has been VERY ACTIVE in her career. She has been doing concerts, mini-tours, posting on her social media pages on a regular basis (unlike "Team Celine", where during the past few years we are LUCKY if we get 1-2 posts every few MONTHS from them, if that lol,) & of course promoting "All I Want For Christmas" every November & December every chance she gets lol. So Mariah is NOT making a "comeback" because she's NEVER LEFT! In order to make a "comeback" to performing, a person has to STOP PERFORMING & be on a long break (which Celine on the other hand HAS been a long break now, a REALLY long break!)

 

Why do you think the media made a BIGGER DEAL about Celine appearing at the Grammys more than Mariah? Both appeared at the Grammys looking beautiful & everything, but everybody was so much MORE EXCITED for Celine appearing because it was her first friggin appearance on TV in over 4 YEARS! Whereas Mariah has appeared on TV numerous times in the past 4 years, where poor Celine had not been since early 2020!

Well, based on some information I had for the cancelled residency, I could tell you that regarding MHWGO, a change was gonna come!

 

And yeah I did not think of Celine at the Olympics for one second but it would make SO MUCH sense !!!! this needs to happen!!! She would most likely sing only Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore. This got me excited !!! I mean, what better than this for promo? Then the doc, then a new song + a new residency!

Yes exactly!! Apparently, the previous 2 appearances from last fall has NOT taught some of the fans ANYTHING!! 🙄😒

 

Last fall after the previous appearances, I kept seeing posts from fans saying "OMG Celine is going to announces new shows later this month", & when November came & gone with NO SHOWS announced, it became posts saying "OMG Celine is going to announce new shows on this date, or that date, or on that date in December", & when December came & gone with NO SHOWS announced, etc... & now here we are in February & there are still NO SHOWS ANNOUNCED!

 

Yes I wish for Celine to come back to performing as much as everybody does, but we all need to be REALISTIC & realize she might NOT BE PHYSICALLY ABLE TO handle live shows, tours, residencies, etc & we should all be grateful for what we get from Celine, & stop demanding so much from her as if she is not dealing with health problems & being in denial!
