I wonder if it would get a lot more attention media-wise if she announced early next year?

 

There's a lot of competition for attention in December.

 

I don't think they'll have to worry about ticket sales… because if she announces a new residency after everything she's been through, they'll sell like hot cakes.

 

I also think it would be lovely if Celine did a televised one night only sort of concert special, alongside a big interview, when she returns. "The iconic Celine Dion returns to the stage…." At some beautiful venue in New York or LA or Paris or Quebec. It'd be handy, too, if she had a new album ready to go at the same time. (I'm daydreaming!) Or perhaps the documentary will be ready to promote and a new greatest hits.

 

Adele did lovely televised concerts when her last album launched.

 

Also, if Celine's not able to do a residency anymore health-wise, a televised one night only concert is a great way to reach a lot of people without the stress of so much performing.

 

Something like this would be perfect for Celine to reclaim her pop queen crown:

Let's wait until the DOC is announced first, then worry about it , 2nd she would need to get the band together and HER staff, You guys are missing are jumping the gun to fast, Its not like overnight she can do things. There is a lot of Logistics involved to putting a show together

I don’t see her making an appearance at RW of all places unless there was something in the pipeline. Granted, she might have done it as a sign of good faith to her entertainment business partners, but why not a private business luncheon instead? This is Hollywood, everything is done for a reason.

Honestly, I'm almost wondering if January 8 (that's the Monday after Luke's final show) is when we might get an announcement. I highly doubt there would be an announcement made next week on the heels of Carrie's new October run going on sale this Friday. If that's the case, we could be looking at a June/July return which would put Celine out of any canceled Courage dates.

I'd be thrilled if we got a new album and she decided not to tour like a madwoman and just did some shows here and there. Her voice is a world treasure and she's been treating it like a circus act since 2003.

Yes. The album sold 1.1 million copies by the end of 2016 and clocked in at 1.5 million by the last update in October of 2017. Courage sold 600,000 copies in its first month worldwide but its sales haven’t been updated since- but it didn’t have the longevity of Encore Un Soir in terms of sales, so I’d guess it’s likely at 850,000-900,000 copies sold. Her first studio album since 1990 to not pass that 1,000,000 mark, unless it’s updated and shows it has.

Regarding the new Las Vegas announcement I'm still anticipating, today would be the the last possible day I think we could expect if one is coming this year. I actually suspect we will not get one today. Should we not get the announcement today, I believe we will not get one until sometime in early 2024.

 

Like I said earlier, I do think she's coming in 2024 but for whatever reason we're likely not getting the official announcement this year.

Carrie's tickets for her fall run go on sale to the general public today, so an announcement today is NOT happening. Chances are slim for next Monday the 18th. It could happen, but I think that with a return that Celine will almost have to do some interviews, promo, etc. and I think she'll want to take the next couple weeks to enjoy the holidays with the boys. I'm sticking with my guess of January 8th, just two days after Luke Bryan closes his residency, or the week after on the 15th, which if you keep reading makes a bit more sense. Celine is "booked" with canceled Courage dates through April 22nd, and Carrie returns May 22nd so that wouldn't give Celine a lot of time to get a show off the ground much less get rehearsals in at the theatre. I think we're looking at a mid-June return just shortly after Carrie finishes up her spring run of shows on June 1st, probably around June 14th. This is why I said it makes more sense for an announcement mid-January... plus I think we're looking at 5 months this time since we know Celine's lucky number is 5. Time will tell.

I’ve been enjoying all the love Cher’s been receiving for her new Christmas album — and how she gets her flowers with so much praise and excitement on all the talk shows she appears on. She’s so beloved as a pop icon. Like Dolly Parton.

 

And I think that’s what I want most for Celine in the coming years too. More than a new show or album… I just want her to get her flowers with more love and recognition for all she’s given to us over the years… and for her incredible achievements in music.

 

I hope the documentary will make a big impact and ignite a new chapter for Celine’s amazing legacy… not only in music but also for being such a good, humble person.
