New Las Vegas residency show!

A bit off topic, but does anyone think Celine could end up doing the Super Bowl halftime show in 2024? It's going to be the first Super Bowl in Nevada and it will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on February 11. If she's ever going to do it, I'd imagine it would be then. Could definitely see MHWGO and IACBTMN being performed. Not sure of other songs though. Maybe TTWII, I'm Alive, or IDAN? Curious about other's thoughts on this. I think the stars could align for this in 2024, even if she's just one of several performers.

Maybe just my thoughts but she just doesn't have the repertoire for something like the superbowl. MHWGO at superbowl? Not what the crowd is looking for at all. Edited by DionFanAlways

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Solo- version of Incredible(would be better if Ne-Yo also came)? The Power Of The Dream? I'm Your Angel(uh, leave this one), God Bless America? One Heart?

I think that if she came with one more success then yes, but her performing alone wouldn't be cool, for us fans yes, it would be wonderful, but for the public I think she would be criticized a lot.

Now if she did an appearance with another younger singer, that would be really good.

A Superbowl Medley would be amazing. I think her repetoire really fits. It's a shame she probably wouldn't do Des Mots Qui Sonnent because that, to me, is like the perfect halftime show song for a Superbowl performance

Um....No. Just Celine will never be on SNL, Celine will never be asked to do a Super Bowl halftime show. For the same reason Barbra Streisand will never be asked to do a halftime show. Just the thought of it is ludicrous! :sofunny:

I hope Celine attends a award show or something and even sing a Courage song(imperfections or maybe Courage, or who knows if they played their cards right, Sia and Celine could sing Lying Down).

But the question is.....is it too much to ask😂

I can actually envision Celine as a halftime performer. If nothing else, I think it would be epic if she were someone’s surprise guest. She rises up and everyone freaks out in excitement.

And I can also envision Celine doing SNL someday - as the music guest and perhaps appear in one of the sketches.

She still has a lot years left to soak in her legendary status in the music industry - and I hope she does some fun stuff like this.

She’s surprised us in the past, and there’s plenty more coming our way.

You all act as if Celine was already over 70 years old. Of course she could be approached to do the halftime show. She is selling tickets like barely any other artist. People love seeing her live. Don't act like she is a has been. She would need to perform the right songs though. Edited by ryba

What could be the right songs for her in a Super Bowl?

Interesting discussion

Celine could and should definitely do the National Anthem. She’s a Vegas treasure now after all.

She HAS no songs for the Super Bowl. This isn't about Celine being a has been - it's about the fact that the Super Bowl audience is not her audience. They want current young artists or legendary rock artists. Celine is neither.

I thought Celine said she would never sing the American National Anthem because it's a song about war. That's why she chose God Bless America for the 9/11 TV concert instead.

Her repertoire is what makes it difficult to do an entire halftime show, but I disagree about MHWGO. It's such an iconic song even with Gen Z, and her image has shifted in recent years. If anything, she'd have to be one of several performers and just do a shortened version by cutting the second verse or something. The past few halftime shows have been entirely uptempo, but that was not the case on several occasions in the past (as recently as 2017 with Lady Gaga "Million Reasons.") I really think it could work.

She'd definitely have to be one of several performers, but I disagree that she'd have to do something new. I think it would be most appropriate for an artist like Celine to do one of her iconic songs like MHWGO or IACBTMN, albeit a shortened version.

You can't compare Celine's appeal to Barbra Streisand's. Barbra should never do a halftime show. The vast majority of my generation probably has no idea what Barbra Streisand looks like or a single song of hers. Not at all the case for Celine. Edited by brendanm999

Actually, they can pull it off by being creative. Songs can be remixed as long as it’s not in lower key and in orchestral version or else it will be a snooze fest

I would say a well arranged medley of her uptempos, but also a very rock, edgy and energetic version of some of her ballads Edited by ryba

I'd expect announcement in early May that the tour will continue if she's recovered from the muscle spams. I think the Vegas announcement would follow shortly thereafter if the new premiere date is in the Fall. Edited by brendanm999

Well, Luke Bryan just announced new dates in June and September of this year, so we're slowly covering the calendar. I'd expect a Vegas announcement within the next couple of months if everything is going smoothly. The question is whether or not we'll hear about her return to the stage via the European leg of Courage or if they'll just drop the Vegas announcement with no word on the European leg. Time will tell.

Speaking of Luke Bryan, his show features a floating stage that extends into the middle of the theater. The capabilities of this venue fail to disappoint. Looking forward to seeing what Celine's show has in store.

Realistically if Vegas is happening this fall they have to announce it by June time, does that seem normal? I’m not sure they could announce that Europe is cancelled and Vegas is happening so close together 🤔

Freaking amazing, i really wonder what Celine has in her pockets.

This stage has a lot potential, if her team doesn't see it and do a simple "just sing" thing... I don't even know what to say

Artists from many genres have performed during the Half Time over the years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_Bowl_halftime_shows

and yes, she has sung the Star Spangled Banner. Haven’t you heard it?

People have this weird fetish for calling her a legacy artist.

Mary J Blige and Snoop Dogg are only 2 - 3 years younger than Celine and they performed at the SuperBowl. Dr Dre is older than Celine by that same amount and he performed too. Madonna was just about Celine's current age when Madonna performed at the SuperBowl.

There are no limits to what Celine can achieve imo.

I will be shocked if Celines show at RW uses any of these cool features. Fully expecting a simple set up.
