Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

So far, based on the song choices and Céline’s interpretation of them, these are my highlights in the Anglophone setlist:

 

- I’m Alive (surprisingly)

- If You Asked Me To

- Love Can Move Mountains (it’s just so energetic despite having been sung over 1700 times)

- You’re the Voice (even more surprising)

- Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi

- To Love You More

- Courage

- All by Myself

- The Prayer

- Because You Loved Me

- The Medley (yes, I’m one of those people...)

- Happy Xmas (which will hopefully be replaced by something other than “Imagine” in January)

 

As you can tell, I’m pretty satisfied with this setlist (except it needs more Courage songs).

I just hope after this tour, there will be no more vegas. It ruined her recording career.

Why is Céline ending her like she's trying to sum it up being an evening in the theme of courage? For those attended: does she speak a lot about courage as a concept throughout the show? (Does she even mention she has a new album out called that?) Coz to me it's just the tour name and that she sings a song called Courage.... it's not like a strong theme through the show which it seems as if she's hinting at.

I am so so excited because my show falls in the next block of shows!! It falls 11 years to the day I last saw her, so it just feels right. I have faith the show will be amazing. My mom is going with me and she knows the hits and a few lesser known songs since I belt them around the house

 

I am so so excited to see Courage and hopefully Imperfections! Part of me wonders if she dropped lying down for imperfections and if she’s gonna drop imperfections and add another new song? I actually wouldn’t mind that, we’d get to hear more. Yes, not all in the same show, but it’s pretty apparent people are eating this show up!

I disagree. I wouldn't have minded her finishing out the vegas setlist with asia 2018 if it wasnt for:

A) removing the reason

removing think twice

C) modifying her style towards CHFIL to something completely unrecognizable to ber original attempts.

 

Those three butcherings are pretty much how the 2015 setlist looked around 2017. The best parts tarnished/gone.

 

I don't want a vegas dvd of the final show. I'd rather them maybe release hyde park, and coupled with the Tokyo dvd we have that covered.

 

The 2015 premiere or 2011 premiere would be better choices. The 2016 and 2017 mini tours would be top choice though.

Do we actually think they will ever release another DVD? They’ve already missed the opportunity to release her best concert tours ever (2016/17)....

 

I’d be really disappointed if they released some s#*t from the end of Vegas, or even the current tour, unless it was loaded with behind the scenes extras.

I had an idea for the English set list.

Her entrance should be say the line of the first song say it in french and then in english It was only a dream, then go into a setlist like this

And in Europe she should add Think Twice and Immortality (they were big songs in UK and europe)

I agree with all 3 points you made. I would have rathered them ditch CHFIL if it meant they kept TT and TR.

 

2015 premiere was easily my favourite incarnation of the show, 2011-2012 had superior vocals but 2015 had a better show. Now if she had done the 2015 show with 2011 vocals....

The first few shows back in Vegas 2015 were incredible. Her voice was impeccable. I remember being 3rd row back on the first night back and hearing ABM high note live and MHWGO live in full. It was magical. Somewhere Over The Rainbow sounded perfect too

The arrangement for ‘Imperfections’ is terrible. It’s lifeless and sounds cheap. Definitely need to use tracks for that song to bring it to life on stage. She sounded great on the Thanksgiving performance

I agree 100%. Better to use track for the instruments and preserve the "vibe" of the song, than do it live and make it uneventful.

I don’t think it would hurt for her to higher key a step or two, it sounds painfully low on some parts for her. I suppose she’s probably tried it a step higher and thought it sounded best that way.

Hey watch it now! It’s one of the two songs we in the States get from Courage on the “Courage” tour. No need to point out weaknesses here. :P

(It is my least favorite. I skip it every time)

I will say after seeing the show last night, the set list works perfectly. I spoke to several people who were worried she was going to do a lot of new songs and not the hits.

 

These are mainly people who haven’t seen her live in more than ten years and they came for classic Celine and she gave it to them and they ate it up.

 

The crowd was with her from the moment she took the stage and even through YTV and the medley; they were living their best lives.

 

I also saw the show. And let me say it’s not the “hits” that most anyone here wants gone, it’s the negotiables, of course songs like IACBTMN, BYLM, MHWGO etc needs to be in show.... what doesn’t need to be there and should be filled with either more hits or preferably new songs from the album... songs like LCMM, the entire medley, and random cover songs.

Yes that was nice! It would be nice too if they really used the lights effect fully on this one. Could really help the song to lift many levels easily! And ditch that retirement home pleasing brass arrangement...

I was at both of the Boston shows and Imperfections just seems so blah and flat. The way it is now, does not translate well on stage. Both times she ended the song, the crowd wasn't sure if it was over, it was a delayed applause for sure.

Honestly I wonder if the time of dvd releases and the such is over...this is partially why i wish celine would DRASTICALLY switch up the types of places she does promo. Live lounge would be great?? For christ sake they require a cover, she should be all over it. Maybe its the 5 live songs of her own repertoire that scare her off....

I’ve always said this song was an album song.

 

Hopefully during her time off she records “Lying down” for the show so she can sing the bits she can and then lips the bits she struggles with as visually that was a great part of the show and a great song in general!

 

It was idiotic to get rid of it.

Neither was the performance of FOMO from Ottawa on the 15th, just rewatched it there and other from being raspy at the end of the song, it was more or less flawless, virtually no pitchiness and the belts were stable
