I actually enjoy the arrangement. I even think the added trumpet is interesting.

I just want her to bring back FOMO!!! I echo the sentiment, even in Ottawa it sounded amazing. Pitchy at the end, yes, but she made it work. The first two Chorouses were more or less perfect note wise!

She needs to add more songs from the album period! I hope we get 5-6+ Courage album songs by the time she starts in January. Personally, I think the following songs would be great live...

1. Lovers Never Die

2. Change My Mind

3. I Will Be Stronger

4. How Did You Get Here

5. Look At Us Now (please sing this one!!)

 

These are great songs that new fans and old fans can love and they will not push those fans that only see Céline for her 90s repertoire. I also feel the delivery of Imperfections is a no, no, and no. This is suppose to be a “head bop” type of song but with the new arrangements it just falls flat.

 

Céline has uptempo songs that are underutilized like Misled, Declaration of My Love, Somebody Loves Somebody, and Flying On My Own (needs to return).

 

 

I love love love the four deluxe songs, especially The Hard Way and Heart of Glass (the last run of “ooo” before she goes back to saying “I was living in a heart glass,” love that it keeps going up). I do not think we will be getting them on tour as they are Deluxe songs. 😭

And to be honest.. I see those pics with all the expensive clothes - our money that we are happy to spend on this new tour which supposed to be in favor of this album. She only does what works commercially for the general audiences and does mot have the courage or creativity to really present something new. She promised something extraordinary.. But no Celine it is not.

Is it all that bad? No she delivered one of her best albums but she does not do anything with it in this courage tour.

(Video clearly well known at this point, but nice to have BB pick up on it).

* The covers in the medley could have been done better and is a waste of time

Twist and shout, stay in alive, lullaby, I wish, world on a string, nobody does it better, live and let die, a lipped Michael Jackson medley..

 

Her covers used to be BORING as hell vocally and if they were good they were often lipped.

 

At least now the songs "not required" are not playback.

 

I have complained many times that the paybacks on filler songs is unnecessary. If its sung by choice because she likes it, it should be live.

Okay but what about the prerecorded songs - then she she should do those songs live at least! I actually don't mind a prerecorded livetrack for those new songs but for it's all coming back, tpol, etc that is different thing.

IACBTMN and TPOL and the other hits are a requirement for lipping, songs such as TPOL she even struggled with back in the 90s, so now... well... self explanatory and those songs also have high expectations from the public, they all still expect crystal clear 90s vocals from all legacy artists which is unfair but its just the way it goes i suppose

The medley too is extremely boring IMO. It seems each song goes on forever. And to me she doesn't lift them to any extra level (which I almost always think you should do esp if you are an established artist, "just singing" the song and in so adding nothing new can be done by any hobby cover band out there. But Céline shouldn't be on their level).

 

But she CAN do superb covers: ABM, TPOL, Blue Christmas, I've Got The Music In Me (although a bit squeeky screaming at times... but it seem to be her comfort zone since AND and onwards), At Seventeen, NMQP live, Nature Boy, Natural Woman,RDMH, Something, HDYKTMP live and the cover-ish O Holy Night and Ave Maria.

 

But yea sadly most of the time and esp of late, they're boring. Like her latest version of Imagine.... great song and a great vocalist yet it turns out to be extremely "meh!".
