She skipped, didn't do, "Flying On My Own" in the medley. She did the other usual medley songs though, the crowd loved it and so did I - even Lady Marmalade.

 

It was kind of confusing, you said "In Bufalo she added "Flying On My Own" to the medley but skipped it"

I was at her Toronto show last night and she only sang Imperfections and Courage from the new album. Once you're there though, you don't think about the setlist lol It has been 11 years since she's been back to Toronto. I was at her last Toronto concert(Taking Chances tour 2008) and it's good to be there on her very first show in Toronto in more than a decade! Lots of standing ovations and one really long one. Someone said it was a 15-minute standing ovation. Time flew so I didn't really know how long it really was lol Those kind of standing ovations are usually reserved from her French audiences so it's a bit surprising that she had that kind of standing ovation from English-Canada! She has another show tonight and I'm sure both are sold out and well-received! So glad that she's back to her home country, Canada

I was there for my first show ever in buffalo on the 5th and last night the 9th in Toronto she was absolutely amazing i took my mom to both shows. Celine sang every song flawless she sounds better then on the records. Truly a gift

I surprised my parents with tickets to the Toronto show tonight.

After some drama (turns out someone hacked into my Ticketmaster account and stole the original tickets!), ended up OK though as they got upgraded and only missed the 1st song so yay!

 

They don't follow pop music nor know much of her material, other than the obvious, I suppose, but they loved the show. Impressed she "moves like a ballerina" and "she got more ovations than Elton" (I got them tickets to Elton a few weeks back, too).

Wow that is crazy. I wonder if they pulled the people in the original seats and investigated them!! I bet they claimed they bought the tickets from a street scalper

Tyler, I agree...and she sounds less flat in this Toronto vid. Celine got her IYAMT groove back lol Which means Team Pepe will remove the song from the setlist after Boston.

 

At the end of the song, I find myself waiting/wanting the "I'll change my mind" lyric in a false or operatic style

I was at the show tonight in Toronto - first time in 21 years I've seen Celine, first time EVER for my friend -- and you're right, you don't think about the setlist (much) once you're there and the excitement gets going. I and my friend screamed our lungs out on almost every song (even the ones where we know there's lipping) - the standing ovation after ABM was INSANE (5-6 minutes). So glad we got to hear the classics like IYAMT, TLYM and TTWII as well as the best new song "Courage" in person. Celine was FLAWLESS -- I was listening for any cracks or pitch problems in her voice and heard none. Even the overdone songs like BYLM were very effective in person. And as overplayed, overdone and predictable as MHWGO is, it's still SO effective live, and I liked Imagine more than I thought I did. The only part I'm still not impressed with is the dance medley -- I mostly just bobbed my head to it, lol. Hopefully that changes soon. Celine looked like she was enjoying herself immensely and was wiping her eyes several times.

 

OH -- second best part - my friend and I were hanging around the tour buses seeing if we could get a glimpse of Celine coming out. We were right next to a bus when Barnev got out, and then a while later we heard a voice say "are you waiting for Celine?" I look up and it's Elise!! Celine had already left (we'd stayed behind because we'd seen sometimes she will meet with fans outside). Of course we gushed about how fabulous we all thought they were, and would have gotten a picture except it's freezing tonight. But that? was awesome.

 

I'll probably put up pictures and video - I didn't get the whole show, about 80% of it - in this thread or the Youtube thread if anyone's interested. This made our year and I'm in total SCF mode right now. Even if you have a problem with the set list -- and I'm one of them -- see Celine if you can afford it or get good tickets. She's still worth it.

It doesnt really hit you until you realise even 3 keys down, the song still requires back to back Eb5s. Alot of the songs on the Celine Dion album are in *ridiculously* high keys, especially IYAMT

It was probably cool way back then, and I love the nostalgia and Celine is so cute! But no, not anymore. Her band is irrelevant -I'm so sorry, pls don't kill me, Kaven is hot, though - the show is about Celine and her voice.The focus should be on the new material.
