I assume the show will pretty much stay as is until she finishes this batch of shows through Nov 5. Then we'll probably see some changes after the break / album promo.

Anybody think she might circle back around and do some more shows in Canada/ USA after the European leg?

 

I know Cher has recently does this as well as P!nk....for instance Cher went back for another show in Toronto and then one in Madison Square Garden as she also only did Barlclay's centre the first time.

 

I feel like Celine might do this. Possibly end the show / tour in Quebec again? I did'nt get to see this tour yet. I went to Montreal in 2016 and Vegas in 2012 and 2015. She used to come to Halifax until our idiot media ruined it in 2008. But if she comes back to Toronto or maybe even MSG next year I'm going to try and go.

 

I can pray she makes a Martime stop (Moncton?) but that holds a very slim chance (even though she'd sell out in two seconds!)

 

Maybe we can wait until she finishes what she has on contract already for the US, then go to Europe for another long leg, and then maybe just maybe wait if she has the energy left to add more dates to places she's already visited (or close)?

I just saw that Jordan Smith (Winner of the Voice) shared a pic that he was at the show last night....would've been a great opportunity to add Ashes considering he wrote the song

 

Oh that’s so embarrassing! Not only is “Ashes” a fairly new song but it’s also somewhat of a hit. I wonder what he thinks right now. Maybe he thinks she doesn’t like the song or doesn’t consider it worthy of her new show...

Googled it, basically the promoter decided that the venue chosen couldnt meet the technological or logistical needs for the show, it wasnt suitable for a show like that, so, it was cancelled and wasnt even attempted to be rescheduled or changed venue, they were going to perform it in a large park, which could fit like 40-50-60,000 in it, but apparently, the production was “too big”

 

Oh AND, apparently there was lots of negative press cause people wanted a rock concert, not Celine Dion, so they cancelled as *apparently* Rene said “if we arent wanted, we wont come” (i read that on some article, take that with 1,000 grains of salt).. shame really, as professionals at the time seemed to think she couldve pulled the 50,000 capacity off

I was watching the videos from last night and I have to admit, the damn medley is growing on me.

To be honest, I think it was one of my favorite moments. She just enjoyed herself so much, you can't stop watching.

 

And I know everybody is tired of RDMH but it works on the stage. It's a live explosion. And, really, I don't think Celine has another song in this level of energy in her repertoire.

Not sure on branding but she’s sounding so good because she’s in great shape vocally.

 

I watch and appreciate all the videos that get posted.. Tyler and Henry especially.. but even the best quality videos do not do it justice. Even after seeing her almost 50 times, last night it still surprised me how much different (better) she sounds in person than through any video.

I wonder why she cut TR then if she is killing it vocally at the moment. I know it’s a hard song to sing as it reaches its climax but if she’s nailing it why cut it? She certainly dropped it fairly quickly in 2017 as well from memory. I do think though that Celine enjoys singing this but I’ve always felt it doesn’t work that well live until it really kicks in at the end so perhaps this is why she’s dropped it.

 

I understand if she feels certain songs aren’t working or are maybe too much night after night for her vocally but I honestly wish she would add something into the setlist in place of such dropped songs. This was my worry from the beginning knowing that she drops songs as she goes along and this setlist was always shorter than normal from the beginning!!

 

Praying for more songs to be added as the tour progresses and once the album is released. Hell, with the short duration of these new songs, she could sing all 16 standard edition songs and still have a good 45 mins to an hour for hits 😂

 

Wouldn’t that be awesome, the full album in its entirety live each show 😝

I definitely think most of the time they drop it if the audience has very minimal reaction and it takes effort vocally simultaneously, if it was extremely easy to sing, it wouldnt be the case, yet if it was well received, she would keep it. Imo its a mix of both... i think it was also the case for TCOML and the long uptempo medley in 2017

The only time I cared for TR live was in 2011 for the show. Now it’s old had. Recycle it and bring it back in ten years. And for the love of God, sing Imperfections. Have the band play to a pre recorded track and wham bam, the latest hit,

 

And I’m tickled Pour que tu m’aimes encore is out of the anglo shows. Maybe performing it less often will help her connect with the new version.

I gave up on getting any boxscores after there was no QC boxscore even after 2 or 3 weeks, it seems boxscore data for this tour is gonna be spotty at best

I wouldn't worry, we received the 2018 tour box office data in one batch on 4th September, over two months after the first show.

I'd be bored and not as energetic if I was her and then something new, something different...I'd be excited for that. Of course then I'd also argue...do a new song of yours lol

I can't possibly be the only one that thinks Think Twice would be a perfect replacement for TR. This seems to be the more "edgy" part of the show, and not to mention the dress doesn't really go well with TR in my opinion. It would be a good transition into the medley too, and it's one of her more widely known songs so people in the audience wouldn't be thinking "I have no clue what she's singing". Hopefully that song isn't too much for her cause I'd really love to see it.

 

I also deeply hate Lady Marmalade....I don't understand why she continues to sing it in french.

Agreed. I view these as songs she enjoys/likes/has fun with and if she is having a good time performing, then I am having a great time taking it all in. She deserves to sing what makes her happy as well!

I don't understand people saying 'Oh, she cut TR because it's too demanding', 'she shouldn't be belting that notes, there's no need anymore' etc... She's supposed to be a singer, doesn't she? So, if you're not going to sing any of your songs because they're demanding, when you can easily sing them, what's the purpose of being a singer? I know that overusing her voice is not good, and much more with such a tight schedule, but if you don't want her to sing anything in order to protect her voice, she better stays home and case closed! One thing is wanting Céline to take care of her voice, and a very different one is not wanting her to sing in order to preserve it.

I feel like that’s exactly why RDMH is still in the medley. She broke it up from the usual “Faith, love, trust” intro, and I think she genuinely loves it! It’s such a fun fun song.

 

I can understand she gets sick of singing her songs over and over. She’s been with them since the writer handed over the “keys” you could say, so she wants something different. I love them, her interpretation is totally Celine!
