I’m almost shocked and troubled by her ballet video. I mean not only I’m impressed by her talent and I mean her body. Just wow but the result is amazing. The lights, the production everything. It s a delight.

 

But what troubled me is her face and how she is filmed. It screams Icons, legend, charisma and suffering. I don t know. It s absolutely beautiful. The way she expresses herself, her entire body and face, it s arty, it s beautiful really. And terribly sad and disturbing at the same time. I simple love it. And it s her song.

 

How can anyone could question the fact that she couldn’t be an artist? This video is THE real thing for me.

That's lovely, but I'm a fan of Celine's first and foremost for her music as she is primarily a MUSICAL artist. It's the fact that she hasn't been able to innovate or even dig out one single old gem from a 27 album catalog that is mind blowing. She clearly sees herself primarily as a singer who decides to now sing whatever she likes. She obviously doesn't connect to the lyrics on any of her own material any more. That's sad and disheartening. I obviously don't relate to her as much any more even though I love her as she doesn't seem to relate to her own music that she put out.

 

I honestly can't believe the setlist could be this bad. I booked my Montreal trip and bought tickets to 2 shows before the tour started only because I was already planning a trip to NY and am stopping over. I obviously need not have bothered, as the songs I love I can clearly only ever listen to on CD til the end of time at this rate.

This set list as it is right now is awful. It has always been the weakest or questionable side of her career. So. But she is still globally offering us way much more artistry than before. Even musically with those 3 songs.

Beside the 2 new songs, there was just 0 gift for the harcore fans.

 

Not only there wasn't anything new but they litterally lied. There were meetings all night long to listen to her discography, she came up with new ideas of songs to add... lol

Which ones? Everything was done before.

 

Céline is the only singer who doesn't sing her leads (PAMP) or her own hits ( and knowing she hasn't had one for years in english, one could expect she sings hers ). I mean I hate BYLM but cutting it to keep "you're the voice"... ?

 

 

Like we asked for the moon ... only 1 rarety would have been enough. Just one ! But it seems that even 1 is too much to ask.

I'm speaking about Courage and Imperfection actually, like fred expressed it, we really have here something new, her phrasing has never been that modern, it's part of vocal technique, and I think it's something she worked on recently, not something natural especially knowing where she comes from.

I may not like everything she does with LMBTL vocally wise but I'm happy she did it, I think that's what makes her an artist and what distinguishes herself from any other performer, her ability to bring her voice exactly where she wants to. I hope she won't stop exploring.

 

NAILED IT. Her artistry isn't expressed through her setlist (unfortunately), but through her vocal interpretation. That's where she has always excelled. Even when the production or songs themselves are inferior, her delivery is always what makes her unique.

As much as yall dont like to admit it, her performing Tous Les Blues, Regarde Moi and A Vous IS PERFORMING RARE STUFF, for everyone who isnt following her every breath, those are rare and exciting songs she very rarely does, only during french shows and even at that still rare, TLBSEPT only was sung as a deep cut in 2016 and has never lost its amazing quality. A Vous, a random song off of EUS that wasnt even a single and Regarde Moi, not performed in 6 years and before that hadnt been performed for 18 years, again, even though its a Deux song, still not well known. On top of that performing 2 brand new songs off of a unreleased album AND still delivering hits from both her anglo and franco career with a few of her favourite cover songs, is a good balance, yall just hate to admit it because you follow her every breath. If yall were casual fans who knew her music but didnt stalk every tour and watch and analyse set lists, you would be saying it was great, but it’s precisely for that reason that you CANT see that its a pretty fair set list

Yes it is exquisite. I have it on repeat. The story the dance tells is so very moving, it still makes me tear.

Then , I don't have to be lectured about what I want to admit or not by someone who answers wrongly to my quote ( again NOTHING was new, all was done before) and can't face the fact that your fav has become lazy .

 

I know it hurts but you don't have any fact to prove otherwise with this tour.

 

I'm fed up about the general public , who stalks every of her show blabla.

What I say is right and a fact : there is absolutely no NEW idea, NOT A SINGLE ONE concerning the setlist on this tour . Period.

 

Deal with it and give me a break with what I admit of not.

So far , there's no prove otherwise and bringing a song from 6 years ago is not a new idea to me...

Sorry, but I have to agree with Shaun too here. If the best part and the highlight of the show is a video segment that is presented on a screen and not the songs performed live, sorry but something is going wrong. Really wrong!

 

There's no way we can only be anticipating a video on a screen seeing her dancing ballet or an intro in a certain song or a part of a song in a medley, out of a full 1h30 min show, because that's precisely what's only new in the show

No, actually it's been not okay for lots of fans here and outside too...

 

I just checked the Red Heads wall in Facebook today and it's literally inundated with posts of fans asking for changes in the setlist. I'm only reading comment after comment a massive scream asking for songs to be cut and NEW songs to be included. Most fans are disappointed there too, and it doesn't surprise. Go see for yourselves if you don't believe this. And we all know the RD group is mostly French-speaking fans, so it's the people whom this shows are addressed to that is voicing their opinions, and have all the right to demand changes.

 

And on top, she wasn't on top shape vocally speaking. So I wonder what did she do? Because she didn't even warm up.

 

Well, apparently some think she needed to rehearse more her old hits because maybe she hasn't sung them enough for the past 25 years Yeah, that must be the mistake here

let's see tonight if they change the setlist to make it a bit more interesting and cohesive. I am going to be shelling about 500-700$ for her first row tickets in Vancouver so it better be something more exciting than what we saw in the first concert. Yes i know this was a french concert but we know the french songs will be replaced by BYLM, TLYM and the usual suspects in the english concert.
