If they tweak the show tonight and do some changes including a new song(s), then the job of the "complainers/whiners/moaners" is done here The problem would be when she offers the same product once and again and nobody says nothing. That would be a problem!

Her voice won't last forever, time is ticking. What she is doing now is wasting it, and time. I don't want to call her a sell out but not sure how to formulate the years since her 2002 comeback.... tons of Vegas shows with the same stuff.... and now another concert Marathon basically walking in her own footsteps when it comes to "creativity".

 

I'd rather have or on hiatus than this kind of concerts. If she doens't care about creativity, and seems to detest her own material (old and new) she should take a break, rest her voice, and come back when she wants to do it - even if it will be a cover tour (and promote it as an actual cover tour).

 

I'm a guy from Belgium , her french career is as important as her english one.

 

 

To me, there's absolutely no excuse. People can say whatever they want to.That's a fact : she started a new world tour and her work was to bring 3 songs exactly ( 2 from the new album and 1 cover lol).

And that's ok for everyone it seems.

There must be something beyond my understanding.

 

And again , I m not even talking about 1 whole new show. JUST ONE RARETY. ONE! NOT 100, ONE!

 

I'm amazed by so much laziness.

 

And on top, she wasn't on top shape vocally speaking. So I wonder what did she do? Because she didn't even warm up.

 

That's a real question , I'd like to know what she did for this tour.

 

She even said "we worked very hard".lol So the ones who have choregraphies and who adds ONE new song to their shows must die from work if she thinks she/they worked hard. Haha

That's probably the 2 videos she did that made her think she worked hard as the last one she did outside a stage was Incredible 6 years ago. Poor girl, she wasn't used anymore and must have been exhausted.

 

That she offers the same show for the billion time, that's one thing , but that they BS us is another...

 

The least they could do was to be low profile when talking about their work.

No that's not a problem but the norm in here…. being a good fan and say nothing about anything that isn't grrrrreat! (unless it's a different opinion of another member, then attack attack attack.)

The only real pitchy part I hear is the “flying on my Flying on my flying on my own”, but I get why. It’s a weird key to jive with. I’m just glad she looked like she was so happy to be on stage!

She sings it really well! But they could have done more with the music.... it gives the same feel as SOL during TCWT, like hearing it through water or something, gives a feeling of unease. And the backing vocals... so flat, she can surely afford to hire a couple of more to do them - was it really this bad or is it the recording?

She looks EXTREMELY good on this tour. However that shouldn't really be the main issue though.

 

It's like the setlist procces went by like this: Some oldfashioned mind person from her team said "Céline what about this song? And this? And this?" meanwhile Céline was deep into a fashion magazine going "Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, are we done now? Perfect let's try out the looks!"

Lots and lots of artists even poll their fans of songs they want them to sing... crazy to me that Team Celine and Celine can’t even pick like 5 back catalogue gems and let the fans vote on at least one for her to include on tour. They don’t like to give fans much say in that regard.

Wednesday morning, after I heard the songs, I couldn’t wait to rush home and buy tickets for the show. My excitement was through the roof! My expectations were higher than any other tour she’s done before. Because why shouldn’t I believe them?

 

Later that night, after seeing the posted setlist and a few video performances, I felt a knot deep down in my guts, like I’d made a horrible, expensive mistake - like I had been betrayed and, even worse, swindled. I felt like crying, but I didn’t. I went online and immediately posted my tickets for resale. BAM. Just like that.

 

If I can’t sell them, oh well. If I can, there is a slim chance I’ll buy “cheap seats” (as much as I paid for FO in Vegas this May). But ONLY IF the American setlist delivers on the promise of something new.

 

We all know she can deliver - some of her greatest performances have occurred in the past 6 years - but that opening night set (vocals aside) was a slap in the face. And if that is Céline “taking control”, then frankly I hope she realises that someone else (fans?) should have input. Whatever happens, my faith/trust/love in Céline has more than likely been permanently damaged.

Didn't Team Celine had a poll of what we'd like as a single from ATW (it was after TTWII had been released). I don't remember which they were (I'm quite sure it wasn't all new tracks on ATW)....

I understand songs will change; and for the record, I have zero problems with the French songs chosen. The other 50% of the show, the English songs, is where I am concerned. Allow me to be more specific.

 

My disappointments are as follows:

* the “new arrangements” promised by Scott. What? The lower key change for FOMO? The same arrangements for the old songs from 2016? If fans want anything to be rearranged, it’s the tired old songs we’ve had for 20+ years!

* the bizarre opening of Unison-Courage followed by a lipped performance of IACBTMN

* complete failure to use the massive stage (though I’m sure this will improve with time, I have to wonder what was being rehearsed for 2 weeks, because we know it wasn’t choreography!!)

* the pre-finale medley. No, no, NON! I love all those songs by themselves, but true “courage” would be leaving them the f*** alone. Pick 2-3 covers. I’m fine with that. But not a 12 minute coverfest!! Where’s When the Wrong One Loves You Right, LIAWN, OH, IDAN, RTD, DYGEL, - literally ANY upbeat songs from her own repertoire (regardless if they’ve been done live before). I’m glad BYLN and LCMM are gone, but I certainly wouldn’t mind them appearing in a medley either.

 

The visuals, the hair, the costumes, the drones - I LOVE!!! But for $450, plus travel expenses? For me, that’s equivalent to a plane ticket to Europe and back. That’s an entire paycheck. That’s one months rent. That’s so many more things than what we have seen from this opening night. (And again, I’m not even considering her vocal flaws in this).
