Collaboration with NUNUNU: Célinununu

Pffff people got way too much time to look for illuminati signs.

And fall over the gender neutral issue.

It's just kids clothes with no specific style or color which can be worn by both.

Argh! I hate it when I have to work 36 hours straight on a big Celine news day!

So much to catch up on. So. Much. Press. And trending in a lot of places yesterday.

The publicity peeps did a good job here. Let's hope whatever she does next musically gets as much coverage as this did!

Have posted some of the better articles earlier in this thread - like Elle and a nice discussion on CTV News - and here are a few more.

Lainey - https://www.laineygossip.com/celine-dions-insane-promo-for-gender-neutral-kids-clothing-line/51300?celebrityId=20285

"If nothing else, Céline’s acting in this clip is a great case for her getting her own cop drama on network television. She’ll be like Bones or Castle or one of those sh-tty detective shows they keep making with mediocre white men at the centre. Please give Céline a TV show. It won’t make any f-cking sense but it WILL be entertaining as hell."

"Her defence? “But I’m Céline Dion.” Indeed she is. And thank God for that. What a wonderfully wacky woman. A gem far more rare than the Heart of the Ocean."

I do mostly agree with the Toronto Star opinion piece, but much as I really dislike these Celeb x Brand collabs & licensing deals (and the entire "Celine lifestyle brand" idea), I do appreciate her doing something with a message.

It may not have been intended as a very political move, but it certainly came off as such to many. And I'm glad about that. She has always been such a fence-sitter (understandably, that's probably a wise career move) - but I'm glad she's speaking her mind here and taking a position.

Isn't there a picture on the site of a boy wearing a skirt though?

She used to let (or does let) the twins wear heeled sparkly boots but maybe she thinks that's a little too much for people right now lol.

There's definitely a tinge of political views in this move but I doubt she meant for it to be the main thing people grasped from it.

But, I agree as well that a little shake up is good. She's played it safe most of her career but at this point she litterally has nothing to lose and a lot to gain imo.

I, personally, would also enjoy a shake up in her music. Perhaps not the style she sings in but maybe what she sings about. Not for the whole album but one or two songs.

Indeed. And let's not forget how she was ridiculed for letting her boys wear long hair.

I don't think this is just for show. She does "live what she preaches".

Could you imagine Celine doing a TV crime show or even acting. Or even being apart in someone else’s music videos.

She could do a great cameo - she just needs an appropriate part!

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw that happen sometime in the near future.

Me too. Playing against her image would be fantastic. I don't want some B movie though. She did allude to many opportunities for her now so hopefully it includes cinema.

I could totally see it. Maybe not a crime show but some kind of mini series on cable or Netflix, or movies.

Celine starring in someone else's music video is quite interesting & a good idea.

We know Sia doesn't like to appear in her videos so a collab with Celine where Sia sings and Celine stars in the video (along with Maddie ofc) would be really great.

I do hope that some of those opportunities she mentioned include acting. It's the perfect time imo, especially seeing that one of the takeaways from people w/ this commercial is how good an actress she is. People were surprised by that, so many comments saying she should be an actress XD

hmm, the negative responses have begun on the youtube comments section & the CNN tweet :|

People too close-minded & completely missing Celine's point.

the comments are something else.... It is just clothes, she is not telling people to change sex. :) I wish that people would have a more cartesian brain.

Yes, some of what's on there is dire... but somebody really should have done some basic research before putting babies in ''New Order'' onesies.

Especially surprising given that Nununu is an Israeli brand...

I googled New Order & all I get are results for a rock band. What's the deal with New Order?

I see these conspiracy theorists twisting it into New World Order & say she is promoting Illuminate ideas. The extremely religious & paranoid have found this campaign and have bombarded the comments section & dislike button on youtube & twitter (I can only imagine how bad it is on Facebook). I think the comments section on the youtube channel should be blocked by her team (at least for a while, until the novelty passes), it's getting truly vile.

i didnT think they were so many , i'm just surprised to see so much people believing that sort of things. I'm sure that Celine is not aware of all that, how could she?
Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

Um... Google again.

new order

noun

Hitler's planned reorganization of Europe under Nazi rule. noun: New Order; plural noun: New Orders

Or Wiki.

The New Order (German: Neuordnung), or the New Order of Europe (German: Neuordnung Europas), was the political order which Nazi Germany wanted to impose on the conquered areas under its dominion. The establishment of the New Order had already begun long before the start of World War II, but was publicly proclaimed by Adolf Hitler in 1941 [...]

etc.

It's not some far-out-there conspiracy theory. It's basic history.

I'm sure the designers were aware of that. I don't know what their goal is . There is so many controversy in that message with all the symbolism, and then you put Celine the angel .... :giggle: We should call Robert Langdon.

It's not some far-out-there conspiracy theory. It's basic history.

I didn't add "meaning" to my google search so it just showed me the rock band stuff lol. Forgive me for not remembering Hitler referring to his Nazi rule as New Order, world history is not one of my strengths (unfortunately). Anyway, that part is not so good, intentional or not (more intentional than not probably). But I think they are trying to give the phrase a new meaning, give it a positive twist. This is the description on the site about the New Order clothing

"Have you heard? The world order is shifting. The kids are at the helm of the new regime, and they’re throwing out the old rules...Call it early onset rebellion."

The conspiracy theory comment was about Celine being a part of & promoting Illuminati. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that.

I understand her goal with this project, but I’m not a fan of “new order” on the clothing, it’s not needed.

I’m also looking at social media and the negative comments definitely out weigh the positive ones.

People aren’t very happy with the line “our children, aren’t really our children”.

Ok.. So what the hell is happening?! Everywhere... On twitter and YouTube people are harshly criticising her and associating her with Evil!

Also, read this... Nununu by itself seems creepy... Go thru their instagram... It's weird

A bit of controversy never hurt anyone- she's been so squeaky clean and down the middle (and been mocked for it as of course she has to have opinions) so I'm happy people think she's the Anti-Christ.

So I‘ve just read the article and I have to agree with the author. It’s very disturbing indeed.

Did you see the pictures they’ve put out? I don’t know if from their perspective it’s just art and they want to provoke with it because it raises attention, or if there is something wrong with them.

Moreover, after seeing these crazy pictures I wonder why Celine went with that brand and not anotherone that appears more peaceful. In my opinion going with Nununu was not the wisest decision. It is likely to take a toll on her reputation.

On the other hand, I wonder if she did it on purpose because she wanted to create huge buzz around her, since she comes back with a new album, maybe wants good offers for a new redidency or movie roles - and what better way to get attention than to provoke and create controversy.

Okay now i have read this...and seen.this....this is really disturbing and why would Celine collaborate with them... i get the message Gender nutral but skulls on a baby's onesie..allseeing eye..horns.. Omg Celine do research first. I get she wants to promote gender neutrality but with this company. I do not know what to think. No wonder the conspiracy and illuminati crowd is so on their feet..

I do agree..it sounds weird because they are our children but for the eye we define boy and girl but they may not feel defined like that. Let them find out. That is the message..but that line on itself. Hope this campaign will not do her harm. I can now feel the negative comments because of the pix i have just seen about nununu.

I totally get her point but with this particular brand she asks for critics and she asks for illuminati creeps attacking her..let the pictures speak for themselves;

so at first glance, just from that article, I thought "that is...actually quite creepy "

the Ho! shirt is a holiday shirt ( a little weird, yeah, but not what the article leads you to believe). The only shirts I don't like are the Control Freak shirt & their New Order shirt designs but they aren't creepy, imo. Their dolls are little weird too but not creepy.

here's their instragram account https://www.instagram.com/nununuworld/

most of it is fine imo, some unconventional photography styles, they consider NUNUNU #avantgarde for kids & #coolkidfashion which probably explains their photography style. The little girl with the antlers was for Halloween, as was the zebra mask one. They deliberately searched for pictures they could put a negative spin on. I went through as much as I could, most of the pics they used were from Octobers through the years, in other words Halloween season posts, or random post that look "evil" because oh look the kid is scratching one eye, or doing finger masks, or eyes all over their shirt (which is their "all eyes on me" designs). Oh and their 36 pants which they see as a hidden 666.

In 2016 they did post some creepy ones for no reason :S but they stopped. Probably because of the feedback.

They really like skulls :hmm:

Their style is definitely not for everyone, but then not all fashion or art is.

But if there is anything nefarious with them then I hope Celine gets out.

I actually think there is. Why would you put allseeingeye on children's clothing. I do not know what to think anymore...

Celine keep on singing please..i get your point but please focus on your music and better do your research before doing a collab with a brand like this. Hema in Holland also has genderneutral clothing..without horns skulls allseeing eyes etc.. i hope after vegas she discovers her voice more and gives the world more beautiful songs

I'm not going to say there aren't some weird stuff & choices for design, & there might very well be something bad with them, but there also might not be.

Had the crazed conspiracy, illuminati, people not infiltrated this campaign would you have noticed anything wrong? Speaking for myself, I never once saw the eyes design as "all seeing eyes" whatever that even means (I don't know much about the illuminati). They were just weird designs to me, but nothing evil.

I do hope that Celinununu's future designs don't incorporate Nununu's more "radical" designs that attract these negative responses (like the eye designs). So far the only bad piece of clothing is the New Order onsies & shirts, & hopefully, it stays at that.

30,000 likes & nice comments for us (I need it lol). Now if these people could go show some love on the other sites XD

Calm down everybody. Vigilant Citizen is a conspiracy theory website. According to them, every celebrity is a part of a mind controlling masonic illuminati new world order plot to enslave humans to aliens or whatever  Same c**p as Infowars.

I like the designs, and I was thinking of buying a few items as a gift, but then I realized that according to the instructions, the clothes can be washed in cold water only. Come on, baby clothes should be washable in 60 C. Not designed for everyday use at all.

These people are also the ones who were attacking her a while ago for things she had never said or done, and they didn't even bother to search if it was true. I mean even most of the people who are saying things like "I used to be a fan but not anymore" weren't really fans, many of them use it as a tactic. That being said obviously she alienated some people but it's not as serious as the number of the negative comments make it seem. Those people live for conspiracy theories lmao

I really saw a woman say she has never bought anything from Celine but she'll boycott her. Like, that's not how boycott works 😂😂
