One tiny negative comment for such a short advert is that they use the "I'm Celine Dion" too much... twice is fine but for me 3 times is a bit annoying lol.

 

I thought that too. It dilutes the catch. I'm now waiting for a time she'll deliver "I'm Celine F***ing Dion".

This is kind of another unexpected news or appeareance and good buuut.. I'm a bit afraid that due to the success of Ashes auto parody, this becomes a kind of Celine new signature... This ad looks like the "little bro/sis/no gender" of Ashes music video... "hey.. I'm Celine Dion"... Hope this don't become the main strategy for the new album...

It was cool in deadpool context but someone needs to know when the joke is over...

Yesterday,

Céline Dion hinted at a forthcoming collaboration with nununu, a clothing brand which according to its company mission statement aims to "introduce children to the wonderful mystery of minimalism." Today, she has unveiled the short film that will promote said collaboration. It manages to surpass even the new Detective Pikachutrailer in strangeness.

 

Defying genre, as well as all conventional approaches to screenwriting, the advertisement depicts Dion breaking into a children's hospital. There, she enters a room full of newborn babies, who are separated according to gender. She sprinkles black glitter on them, and the pink and blue signs are replaced with nununu logos. For this act of liberation, she is arrested by two wisecracking security guards.

 

"Our children. They are not really our children. As we are all just links in the never ending chain that is life," says Dion, as Christmas music plays in the background. It's a lot to take in.

Reactions seem to differ depending on the medium.

Instagram is almost 98% positive (yas queen, teach us!), Facebook mostly negative (older audience), and people on people on Twitter are belligerent in whichever direction lmao.

 

It's so annoying (not just here but in general) that people trip over themselves to give their opinion based on a headline alone?

It's so clear in most commentaries that people don't even bother to watch the interview or read the article.

I mean, I'm sure there's discussions to be had on the subject, but if the starting point is "Céline wants to force all kids to be gender neutral", then where to begin?

Well, yes there is more than 2 people in this world. However, when it comes to social issues there is usually just two opinions, the more “liberal” opinion; these people tend to be more socially accepting of the LBGTQ community, they tend to support a woman’s right to choose (pregnancy/ abortion, they also are the key people that support the “me too” movement.

 

Then we have the socially conservative people, tend to be but not always more religious people who don’t support or like many of the things I listed above that the group tends to.

 

When it comes to Celinenunu, it’s definitely a accepting line of breaking the stereotype for children starting at a young age. There will always be people that aren’t accepting of a boy wearing pink or a girl wearing blue for example; which is why this reaction seems very split.

I think all these years Celine had a fan base of both those types of people and some people liked her because she didn’t give her opinions often on these issues so some people who don’t agree aren’t liking this and the ones that do, love this.

 

I personally think it’s a good idea, there’s nothing wrong by being more accepting in my opinion, and I’m one of not a extreme majority of straight males on this forum. I commend Celine on doing what she believes to be right! She will never have 100 percent of the people regardless, at this point I honestly think she’s at the point where she wants to have her opinion known, and no longer cares who agrees or doesn’t.

 

But hey I’m ready for new music! Lol

I’m talking in the case about SOCIAL liberal people or SOCIAL conservative people. That is also toward people outside the USA. When it comes to these issues people usually have 1 of 2 view points.. that’s not to say that these are only people who voted or didn’t vote for Trump.
