Does anyone know why Celine’s team removed the post about Ne-Yo and the 10th anniversary of their song Incredible from Twitter and Threads?

“I decided to go to the Oscars, but I told the producers I couldn’t sing the song. I knew I would be too nervous. So they asked Natalie Cole, who became ill at the last moment, and Celine Dion stepped in. (She was already scheduled to sing one of the other nominated songs.) I was sitting in the audience watching the show . . . delighted to see choreographer Michael Kidd, my friend from Hello, Dolly!, accept his honorary Oscar . . . when I suddenly started hemorrhaging. (I was having more problems with endometriosis.) I quickly got up and rushed to the bathroom. And by the time I could emerge, Celine had already sung the song. I didn’t know that she was about to go on, and I was mortified to have missed her. But of course some of the papers tried to turn it into a scandal, as if I had deliberately dissed her.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Who wouldn’t want to hear Celine sing a song that you cowrote? I found her afterward and apologized profusely. She completely understood. I told her, “We have to find a song to sing together.” And that led to “Tell Him,” also produced[…]”

I believe what she says. I don’t think she left to diss Celine.

Agreed. At the worst, I think she left to save face. She strikes me as a prideful person, based on her exacting and demanding professional reputation, it could have been hella awkward for her if the camera kept panning to her for reaction shots while someone else spectacularly sang her song, understandably lol She smoothed it out with Céline after the show, that was nice and gracious enough of her.

Yes, in that case she might have even watched the performance but secluded herself from cameras.

Thats interesting, then lie something to celine, “hemorrhaging” something Barbra wouldnt tell the press…

This song is giving us life! I do not think it is a coincidence that TTWII, IA, ANDHC music videos do so well on YT. Especially the past 3 years. I think COVID-19 had such an impact on people's mental and emotional well-being that many sought refuge to those light-hearted, positive, feel-good songs! IA is getting over 300.000 views per day, it's insane! Edited by LukeD

In a coffee shop on Friday, I was surprised to hear If Walls Could Talk playing. There was a cute gay guy behind the counter and I wanted to ask if it was him who chose the music. 😅

I love it when Ceilne is called a "pop icon." It's true and she should get waaaay more mentions/attention. Can't wait for that documentary to come out!
