The channel created a documentary about Celine and Rene that they were going to broadcast on September 8th, but that an unforeseen legal issue has caused them to not be able to show it.

Céline et René: L'histoire d'un couple star???? It's strange... because it's an old documentary, it was released in 2016... You can watch here:

Hello, I get the same news like this person bellow. My friend is really close to the Dion Family and his also known in Quebec. He told me celine is not doing better. They discovered a cancer and she won’t make it. Apparently she does not want to eat and it’s a matter of time. I don’t know much about it.

everyone really needs to stop hoping for celine to come back. I know from certain sources, from several contacts at Sony that the team is preparing to issue an official press release in the coming months to announce the cessation and end of Céline's career and her retirementdefinitive of the media environment. his state of health is not improving at all, contrary to what his sister Claudette has told us. from this source I can tell you that Mr. Dave Plattel and the only remaining member and that the rest of the teams have been thanked (thearchivists, stylist, press officer, official photographer, as well as these choristers). they have closed the offices in Montreal, and all their archives have been stored in containers in Las Vegas for the time being. Sylvie Beauregard currently rules everything that is administrative and should leave afterwards, Mia Dumont was also thanked as well as Denis Savage.

they just called an L.A. communication box regarding social networks. all that to say that we must stopwith your hopes for a comeback and a stage.Céline's career is coming to an end.

i'm not asking anyone to believe what i'm saying, but my sources are very reliable and i can assure you that celine will not return to the media scene. a weariness probably also for many years.

Kindly do shut up. We are worried enough without all the unsubstantiated rumours.

Yes, mods need to step in here I think. Never noticed this person posting before and they pop up to say Celine is about to die!

Her brother didn't say sth. about cancer in the interview from the D'eux Tribute Show. He said that SPS is complex and they are still searching for the right therapy for her.

Unfortunately, her brother, who rightly avoided commenting on her condition, expressed himself rather vaguely ("professionals are trying to find out what's wrong with her", "specialists are working hard to find out what's wrong"), which may boost the rumour machine.

Of course, SPS can sometimes accompany or (more often) precede cancer - this is known as the paraneoplastic type of the syndrome.

But this is not knowledge reserved for the initiated; it's easy for any amateur to learn it and fabricate “seemingly probable” rumours, which in no way increases the veracity of such hearsay.

It’s ok if you don’t believe me. Like the post I wrote regarding the videoclip of the song lying down.

I live in Montreal and my sources are 100% safe. I only post when I get good source.

Je vous souhaite de passer une belle soirée et je suis un grand fan de Céline depuis 30 ans.

Even if you think your source is genuine, posting something like that on here with no evidence at all to back it up is just totally reckless. Not to mention that your rumour is contrary to what her family seem to have been saying in only the last week.

Agreed.

Man, apparently Kylie fans have always been luckier than us. Check out all these VHS/DVD - and she only sings in one language!

I'm not on Instagram so I can't see the link, but I'm a huge Kylie fan so I can guess what's included... :)

Kylie and Mylène are similar in that they both release official films of every major concert tour they undertake, but they also create completely new and different shows for each tour. Sure, there are a few of the same hits that they kind of have to perform, but they also completely overhaul the overall setlist every time and include lots of other more obscure album tracks from throughout their career, create new treatments for some of the old chestnuts to give them new life, throw in a cover or a b-side, etc. Their shows are true shows, not just a singer performing on stage.

Céline, sadly, does none of those things, so there's very little point in releasing a film for each new show since the shows are essentially the same every time. We might see differences as fans, but in the grand scheme of things they're pretty much identical.

On the whole I’d agree with you regarding the arrangements of Céline’s big hits when performed on tour. They seem terrified to touch the arrangements. I can only remember them remixing “I’m Alive” for the Taking Chances Tour and then the IACBTMN/TPOL medley. Other than those it’s the same hits performed the same way all of the time. Shes perhaps restricted with what she can do because of the lipping issue though?

I can’t agree that they never mix up the staging tho. A massive heart stage for the LTAL tour, A New Day… speaks for itself, centre stage and dancers / conveyors etc for the TCWT, the orchestra etc for “Celine”, and then the massive “video wall” for Courage. I agree that “mini / summer tours” were pretty minimalist though.

Like the feedback they got in the early days of “A New Day…” though, people generally go to see Celine and hear her voice. They don’t care about acrobatics, dancers or whatever. I don’t know if the same applies to Kylie or Mylene to be honest. Do people go to their shows for the voice or the “show”?

Regardless, it’s a real shame the lack of DVDs etc we’ve got from Celine when you consider the sheer number of live performances she’s given. Why the second Vegas residency remains unreleased is a complete mystery considering the sales the “A New Day…” DVD achieved.

Who is really to blame? Sony? TeamCeline? Celine herself? Someone, somewhere, is making an actual decision to release nothing.

I’m glad that Celine has had at least one very successful live concert release in her English career with A New Day…

Was Live in Paris a big success in France and Canada?

I think when you’re a singer like Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, you don’t need to put on some huge spectacle show. Celine easily could’ve put on more simple, elegant shows like Barbra Streisand. But she (and Rene) always tried to give the fans some big spectacle too.

As far as setlists, they always curated them for general audiences so people would leave feeling like they heard all their favorites. With a few surprises and unexpected gems mixed in. Which wasn’t always ideal for us hardcore fans. She made up for it during those summer tours a few years ago.

I wish we could’ve had more concerts officially released over the years. But at least we see so many clips on YouTube.

The wildest part is that they haven’t bothered to update her *previously* released concerts to a modern format

• Unison, Live in Memphis (VHS)

• The Colour of My Lip, Live à Paris, All the Way (DVD)

I agree with Shaun - somebody (probably Céline) is actively prohibiting the release of NEW “archive” material. But there’s no excuse why Sony shouldn’t make all the back catalog available on Blu-ray, VOD, and vinyl. The devoted fans will buy up anything they can, and new fans will at least have their desired format.

Celine also released a lot of VHS/DVDs, but mainly for her French music repertoire.

Unison VHS, Wintergarden concert/no DVD

The Colour of My Love TV Special VHS/DVD /they should release a DVD from the concerts in Montreal in 1994

Live a Paris VHS/DVD

Live in Memphis VHS/still no DVD😡

Au Coeur du Stade VHS/DVD / Why didn't they release a Double DVD from the LTAL Tour (English/French)?

A New Day DVD

Sur les Plaines DVD

TCWT/Docu DVD

Une Seule Fois DVD/last concert DVD 10 years ago!

GH All The Way VHS/DVD/On Ne Change Pas DVD

...

Celine Vegas Show/no DVD

Mini Tours 2016-2018/with Docu/no DVD

Courage Tour/no DVD

Why didn't they release a DVD from these Tours? 🤔

That's the big question here... they don't want our money

I’m glad the Taking Chances world tour got a lot of exposure thanks to the documentary. But also because of the uploads to her official YouTube channel.

This has over 100 million views:

I’m also glad her team uploaded these clips - because there are people out there who maybe don’t know how captivating Celine is onstage and what an epic performer she is. They might just think of her as a great singer.

I’ll never forget being at the Ace Theater event when she announced the Courage tour. The stage felt far too tiny for her. There’s something about her that demands a large stage and venue. She dominates a space and is so larger than life.

Same goes for Madonna, not the best singer. But her setlists and shows are a real treat for the fans.

It's really a shame they didn't put more creativity into it.

For the arrangements being the same for years I think most of that has to with René.

If I recall many years and interviews ago, he wanted that the audience who hear the songs, that they sound the same as what they hear when they play the album.

But as a singer/performer I can imagine she be bored as hell.
