Yup. Especially since they seem to make a rather primitive deduction: "if she sells her residence in Vegas, it means that she is moving to Quebec" ;)

The tabloids have their own logic: if you haven't heard of improvement, it's "because it's getting worse". It must be dramatic enough to encourage clicks. So let's not be influenced...

The Quebec magazine 7jours collects and publishes in this article all the recent rumors concerning Celine - they come in most cases from ugly sources, but perhaps one thread seems quite interesting :

 

"If Céline Dion doesn't seem to be moving to a new home, the same can't be said for her company Les productions Feeling inc., which for many years had its headquarters in a modern building on a major boulevard on Île Jésus. Échos Vedettes has learned that the star has moved his offices to an address in an industrial district of Laval. In recent weeks, a new address has been linked to his company. Located a stone's throw from Old Montreal, it corresponds in fact to a large lawyer's and notary's office in the metropolis. Official government documents relating to Productions Feeling list Céline Dion and a lawyer from the firm handling her company as directors. As for Céline's address, it corresponds to offices in Henderson, Nevada.

The period when Productions Feeling was located in an industrial park in Laval was short-lived. It was a period of transition, we understand. Oh that is very interesting! Tho it would make sense for her to have her company close to her. Especially if maybe travelling is becoming more difficult.

The fragment in question more or less says: "We hear she's doing better. We're getting e-mails, press releases and phone calls telling us how she is, what's going on. The doctors think it would be better to wait a while, but she's doing better. We're praying for her. "

 

So he hopes she'll be able to get back on stage, but he hears she's doing better.

Eh, hard to know. The periodical is reliable and Barnev probably sincere, but perhaps a little too willing to practice wishful thinking... What's more, "better" sometimes takes on an absolute meaning ("better and better") and sometimes a relative meaning, simply changing from one day to the next ("better than yesterday" doesn't always mean "better" in the absolute). However, we so need to hear that she's doing better. As for her return to the stage, time will tell (I personally don't have many illusions about it - but I'd love to be wrong), but for now it would be enough to know that she's not in too much pain.

 

And I wonder if the archives were moved in order to create a museum of some sort? Or if it was related in anyway to the documentary?

 

I wonder too. No idea.

Yup! I’m still holding to that feeling that she’s getting better and have her comeback soon. I think she’s really ready but i think the doctors wants her in her 100% and it’s ok. it’s worth the wait til 2024

I doubt she will ever be 100% with that diagnosis. But, it’s quite possible that she hasn’t been 100% for 15 years or more. Doctors perhaps want to assess if this improvement is short lived or a long lasting improvement.

We just need to be positive like Céline. Given the fact that Céline is a fighter. She doesn’t accept defeat. She’s a positive and confident human being and I love it.

 

She will really have a great comeback. :)

Yeah, same impression. Besides, Barnev illustrates the general principle: the less you know about this disease, the more "optimistic" you are.

Are you sure? Everything I've heard about JDM is that it's a tabloid rag...and a right-wing one at that.

True, but even so, the "tabloid" (or for that matter "right-wing") in Quebec is hardly comparable to its European - French or British correspondents; not to mention the fact that it's the largest French-language daily in North America. Still, it seems unlikely that they would invent an interview that didn't take place, or completely misrepresent what was said. Perhaps a bigger problem than JdM's credibility is Barnev and the limits of his knowledge (the journalist says it openly: they don't know much about the current situation); it seems to me that he's speaking more to Céline than to us: having no direct contact with her, he's taking this opportunity to show his support for her, and people, thirsty for hope, are holding on to it a little tightly and take his wishes for reality...

Barnev is out there promoting his first solo project. Since most people know him through Céline, of course he’s going to be asked about her. Even if he does know more, he’s clearly not going to divulge any details beyond what Céline would be comfortable with.

I thought so too, but my search turned up no results. This website has a handful of pictures (and videos) of the session. The first video has a clip towards the end where you can see the chin of a man standing behind her, and I suspect that might be him.

  • I don't know if we'll see her again. I hope we will. But I know she's doing better. She sent us a note saying she's doing better. I think the most important thing is her health.
