I've not spoken to a doctor, but I do know that negativity, speculation and doomsday attitudes are no good for anyone. We just have to be patient and wait for actual news from Celine herself. No other doctor than her own truly knows what is going on with her health and what her prognosis is.

That article said it's unclear if she ever moved into the new home. Would make sense to sell it if she's not going to undertake a big moving project.

Just found out that JJG's half-brother was assassinated years ago in a political plot. The Wikipedia article about his life and the character web involved is very fascinating -- involves multiple countries.

 

They only identified his killer about a decade ago.

It was a nice tribute, but I expected more from Beyonce. People even say, she lip-synced and it was too slow for me. Celine's version is better and I was never a fan of the cover version.

Powerful vocals, beautifully done. Nice as a tribute but it’s not something I would like to hear more than once.

 

All my respect to Tina, but Celine’s version of this song is still my favorite.

The author of the so-called "official biography" has just published the book's cover and release date: August 23. It will be prefaced by Hugues Aufray, who - according to Laurence Catinot-Crost - put her in touch with Céline. It may seem odd, however, that there is no mention of an "official biography" on the cover... I can't comment on the quality of the graphic design, which, alas, is too much for the author's taste... wow, I don't like the cover at all. It looks cheap. Also, was the author not a man from Ukraine specialised in history?

She's a woman, French from the south, but she's indeed interested in history. A very prolific author, but at the expense of quality, it seems. The cover is horrible (what an idea to put 4 fonts on it!), but when you visit her FB profile, you start to suspect that she's the designer. Céline is definitely not lucky; first Elisabeth Reynaud and now this one...

According to the official version Catinot-Crost is spreading in the French media, she was working on a Céline Dion Dictionary (?) when her acquaintance Hugues Aufray suggested putting her in direct contact with Céline. Since then, they have "worked together" and LCC is said to have "obtained a lot of information" from Céline. Yes, I liked that she did a tribute, but choosing that song and make the tempo so slow. I didn't connect to it much.

It's amusing that she has so many high energy songs and tries to turn a high energy song into a ballad (idk if I like that she did this change for a tribute of a legend that just passed away). I'm sure she could've remixed it but still keept it uptempo, amd I feel like that would’ve been a more apt tribute.

 

I do like her vocals. Maybe it's the musical arrangement that isn't helping.

My biggest hope is a statement that Céline is on the mend and carefully planning new projects for the future. I would love a new French album, I suppose that could be a healing process for her too.

There are several scenarios, and obviously they won't depend solely on her decision.

The best but unfortunately unrealistic one: a miracle, the first cure for an illness considered incurable, i.e. a "recovery" understood literally (allowing her to pick up where she left off).

The worst and, unfortunately, more realistic scenario: the disease takes command of her life.

If we eliminate the two extremes (because the first is unreal and the second unwanted), we're left with at least three "intermediate" scenarios, provided her condition stabilizes, she goes into remission or at least the symptoms are manageable, allowing them to program anything – of course in the short term:

 

1. She succeeds in realizing her greatest dream and returns to the stage. The challenge: everything, from the repertoire to her stage presence, would have to be radically changed (which would require an immense effort on the part of an entire team, a rejuvenated and visionary TC and songwriters providing her with tailor-made material). Real? I dream and doubt it.

 

2. Never on stage again, but she manages to reinvent herself and return to public life: studio work or acting, maybe even activism. Real? yes, but maybe not tomorrow (some in the SPS community feel she's still living "in denial", still trying to recapture what she's lost - others rightly point out that it took Michael J. Fox several years to adapt and get out of his isolation...) .

 

3. Still, Céline prefers to keep things private. Real? yes; we often forget that a serious illness can't just be fought, it can also change us... and sometimes that means a profound change in our ambitions and objectives. What's more, Céline is not a media addict; she has repeatedly demonstrated her ability to isolate herself and live her life.

 

Conclusion: I would like to wish us her comeback, whatever form it takes; the world needs one. And I wish her the best of luck in maintaining her autonomy, whatever she decides - so that the disease never decides for her.
