Not sure if they should skip the orchestra.

But I definitely agree that on some songs, especially the uptempos the orchestra don't do the songs justice.

A little bit of a backing track wouldn't hurt.

 

But for her ballads, ooh the orchestra is the best thing happened, and also there is difference in the 2016 'orchestra' or the stripped down version of the late years.

 

In 2016 they did magic on the songs. But I seriously hope that one day she will do a full on big orchestra show.

 

I mean, just hear this. It's sooo good!

 

 

It would be great if the orchestra sound big like this one but it isn’t. In upbeats, orchestral version is a no no. It decreases the energy of the song. Look what happened to RDMH. It sounded boring now when they turned it into orchestra. I missed the loud arrangements.

Wow, Operation London Bridge. Or Operation Unicorn, I guess, given she passed away at Balmoral. End of an era. What a life. RIP and condolences to all affected.

I was at the beach and listening to a local radio station. I haven't listened to radio in quite a while and it's s h it now! Britney and Elton have a remake of his Tiny Dancer and it's s h it! (my thoughts of course)

No wonder radio won't touch Celine.

So there was also an official memorial service held in Canada today. Ginette Reno and Rufus Wainwright performed.

I can’t help thinking if she was well enough, this is something Céline would have been asked to participate in. But perhaps not, as I’m sure she’s too expensive to book on the government dime! 🤭

W9 (France) is showing the special L'énigme Céline Dion tonight. "But who is hiding behind this living myth/legend", so basically the person behind the "singer Celine Dion". It seems like a rehash or previous specials.

Some French media (none too reliable, though) reporting that Céline is in negotiations with TF1 to appear in a special episode is Star Academie.

 

Looks like some more reputable outlets now picking this up.

If true, could be a good way to get her back in the public eye, I suppose - that show has serious ratings, no?

Yes her voice is so weird on the end credits. Maybe it sounds more pitched because it seems they sped up the track ? Also it's the humbertica mix not the album version

Just finished watching it on French Television. Nothing new, just the same things that have already been said a zillion times on her life/career. But some new archive footages excerpts were shown like press conferences backstage (in Paris 1999), Stade de France Tv Version, or Sans Attendre promo interview. They talked about the delaying of Courage World Tour also, saying that after René's passing, having new projects and a world tour kept her busy and gave her strenght to carry on, but when covid arrived, she found herself at home like the rest of us, and that she might have had a burnout since then. That unlike Michael Jackson (who took pills and drugs), she will not come back if she's not feeling 100 percent well and that it is difficult, for artists that reached that level of perfection , to come back in the public eye diminished.

The cool thing was the choice of less known songs among the documentary. They used her 80's catalogue and non-single songs like Mon Homme (1F&4T), Si Je n'ai Rien de Toi (SA), Change My Mind (Courage).
