No Céline at Montreal Jazz Fest (yet!) but famed jazz vocalist Ranee Lee (from Brooklyn but Montreal based), is doing a show of jazzified Céline covers as part of this year’s festival.

Not sure I’ll get the chance, but would love to see it. I had a chance to work with Ranee at another festival some years back, and she was lovely. And I’d love to hear what she does with the Céline catalogue.

Man, Joni will be there, presenting, and is also getting honored as MusicCares person of the year. I so wish Céline could be there to meet her. The two most iconic women in Canadian music. How perfect would that be?

 

oh my god, you read my mind. i have been thinking about them two together for a long time, but especially in the last few months. I wonder how Celine would sound singing a Joni song, and which she would choose.

 

By the way, they have attended at least one of the same Juno Awards and the Grammys in some of the same years. I know Joni watched Celine at the Aretha tribute via the Clive Davis watch party

I find it very odd that Celine's videos go down from HD to 480p like for example I surrender live video or only one road music video, also I'm alive music video and HYEBIL music video, before they were upgraded again. I remember watching all her videos in HD, I wonder what's the purpose and if others have recognized the same thing? Is it Celine's team so that they can make it a special event to remaster a video in HD again for an anniversary or has it something to do with youtube.

I'm waiting when newer videos like ashes, imperfections, parler à mon père or courage will be not in HD anymore too

Indeed, they didn't remaster I Surrender live version, they should...I hope they are waiting for A New Day 20th anniversary, otherwise it's a foolish decision, since I Surrender gives her a lot of views from public.

not the single, I mean I don't have an answer for that. We have access to some public sales histories, some fans probably more than others depending on where they live, who they know, who they work for, their sleuthing abilities, etc., but there are surely countless private sales that have taken place that we may never know about. If you mean in theory, what would be the holy grail single musical item? I'd say the MHGWO demo tapes.

well, i meant moreso remix versions, different edits, etc. i recently learned of an extended remix to "Je Ne Veux Pas" that was apparently only released in France on a vinyl or something. stuff that is officially out there/released but little known or hard to find. there is a canadian original version of "CNTQR" her first song, that's another example.

 

but other fans know more about that than me, hence why i asked.

Top of my list to add to my collection right now is Dion Chante Plamondon vinyl - Canadian or South Korean version. One came on eBay the other day (I have an email alert set), but it had sold before I could snatch it up.

 

I collect for use, unlike a lot of people, so I may not be the most educated in what you're asking. Powerofthemusic.com does a fabulous job of cataloging all the official and promotional releases. This includes details such as misprints and special releases. Discogs.com is a great resource, too - especially in terms of sales history.

Just looked for her on apple music, it seems she's about to drop a full Celine project as she's already released Nature Boy, I'm Alive and Tale as old as time (Beauty & The beast) as singles

I was expecting him to suddenly have an outfit change to be dressed up as Celine.

 

If only they invited Celine and had her do a funny tiktok sketch. Like, Celine playing a tiktok obsessed character that tries to keep up with all the trends lol. The irony would be too funny.

 

Anyhow, Celine being relevant without lifting a finger. We love to see it.

She did also when she lived in Florida. She went to the Walmart in a pretty small town called Stuart. A few people I know saw her but never me.

it's funny that she only pretended to dye her hair for the Loreal commercial, but in real life she walks around with grown out gray stripe :D Maybe she went to get that Loreal color box lol Edited by ryba

Someone had posted on YouTube awhile back, the original studio backing track that Celine used to record "Just A Little Bit Of Love" but I can no longer seem to find it. Did anyone happen to rip the audio and have it as an mp3/mp4?

I remember that pic! I also remember how we were speculating if it was really her, and it turned out that it was her indeed, since there were even more pics that she took with fans. This was when she took a long break because of Renes health condition.
