I just noticed that the video from 2003 where Celine is attending Oprahs 50th birthday party and sings because you loved me with long blond hair (that was before the infamous hair cut) is no longer to be found online. Does anyone of you have it?

Actually, that was *after* the infamous haircut. She had blond extensions put in, and later dyed it her usual brown. I find it interesting that there aren’t any known photos of her performing AND with the long blond hair…

She also sported a different blonde style, with bangs, for the unveiling of her spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is the only outing I’ve seen with that haircut — so that could possibly have been a wig (?). Any guesses?

I’m pretty sure all those pics I posted are from 2004, not 2002-03.The Oprah style looks 100% like extensions, but I am leaning towards wigs for the other two. I really liked the long, blonde locks and wish she would have kept them longer. But her dark extensions were gorgeous, too. I love the pictures they used for the AND…Live in Las Vegas CD

I would love to one day have an interviewer asking her what was/were her favoirite era/s or years in her career and why. I am really curious about that and I think it would be an excellent question, unless she anwsers with "the best is yet to come believe it or not" LOL

Earlier today, I was reminiscing about the concerts Whitney Houston did in DC in 1997 ('Classic Whitney' as those concerts were called).

It was such a cool concept: Whitney paying homage to many of the artist who inspired her or paved the way for her. She sang songs by Aretha, Billie Holiday, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Sammy Davis Jr... etc.

It was absolutely glorious and (though vocally not up to her nineties standard) I've watched it a ridiculous amount of times while growing up. Definitely influenced my musical tastes until this day, as she let me discover a lot of music I hadn't known before (I was an early teen).

I wish Céline had done something similar (I mean, she still can). She has such diverse tastes and influences, I'd love to see which

songs she'd select and why.

(easy on me now, I know some of y'all hate covers 😂)

please no. Celine already did this with her cover show in Vegas, which finally had an end in 2015. I would not be interested in a show like this at all.

Yes it was a wig (in January 2004).

Her hair story is indeed a bit confusing around this time. Remember just after Y2K she cut her hair very short, almost buzzed. By the next winter she was almost due with RC, and her hair was almost shoulder length. We see her again at the 9/11 tribute. Her ANDHC hair in 2002 is her own with extensions, and she cut it short for the AND rehearsals. Her blonde hair seen at the Woman of the Year awards awards on January 24 2004 is her own (maybe there are some extensions, but it looks pretty thin). Same with Oprah's birthday a few days later. Less than two weeks later at the Grammy Awards she premiered her long, full, brown hair with extensions. These came and went until she began relying on wigs in 2007.

I do not believe her hair at the Hollywood Walk of Fame was a wig, though in this photo you can see she may be wearing a synthetic hairpiece over the ponytail.

Compare to this last photo to this next, taken two weeks later. See how her roots are growing out? The bangs are still there, just swept back. She wore it in a similar way to Oprah's party a few days later before finally giving into the full brown extension look for Dance With My Father.

1999: very long, sometimes with extensions

2000: very short

2001: growing out

2002: grown out+extentions (ANDHC shoot, Chrysler ads)

Feb 2 2003: IDAN video shot

Feb 28 2003: AND rehearsals (haircut)

March 2003: short blonde (AND, OH)

please no. Celine already did this with her cover show in Vegas, which finally had an end in 2015. I would not be interested in a show like this at all.

I liked the original Céline show, but I really don't feel she had any special connection to the songs at all. They were mostly selected for her and some she didn't even want to sing at first. I'm talking about something more personal, songs that inspired her on a personal level.

BTW I think most of Céline's English back catalog is utter sh*te, so your preferred type of show would in no way appeal to me either...So there's that I guess.

She's trapped between two massively expensive contracts by the out that she's under doctor's orders. Specific clauses in her contract are why she's been silent, presumably under lawyer's advice, and will be until after the dates of the canceled leg of the tour.

So pretty much we will NOT hear from her @ ALL then, since she has cancelled her tour shows & the Vegas shows... I do wonder IF we will ever hear from her again, or if the time before the pandemic (early 2020), will be THE LAST TIME we will see orhear from her again...

How about you check the rare photos page on this forum and see for yourself since you think you know everything

Well I see there is ONLY ONE THREAD on this forum that is titled "Celines Rare Pictures", & there are NO NEW PICTURES of Celine or her kids on there, those are all older pictures (pre-2020 pics!) So I do not know of these "new pictures" you are taking about... Can you please post them on here (if they even do exist anyway, if they do exist & they are so recent, I am shocked that none of you are posting about them on this forum, considering how we have not had new pictures of Celine or her boys in practically forever lol... Instead some of you guys are having silly arguments about who are "real fans" or "fake fans" or whatever lol...)

Well, although I am not a huge fan of all of her English songs from the past, I wouldn't call it utter sh*te. She definitely has filler songs on her albums, but she doesn't have to perform them live. I like what she started doing since 2016 with Scott. They pick interesting songs from her catalogue and put great shows together. I loved the 2016 French setlist. Why do you pick April 23rd? Just curious as what is special about that date in particular? I have just looked it up on my calendar & it is NOT A HOLIDAY & it is NOT HER BIRTHDAY either (as her birthday is March 30th!) I am just curious about why you picked that exact date thats all, I think its very random lol...

Well, true. Her french catalog is much more interesting. So yeah, 2016 was incredible. Though not that well-liked by casual fans.

2017 was great as well (though if I remember correctly, half of this board was in an uproar about how it was Vegas on wheels before even seeing the show).

And of course I'm exaggerating my dislike for her English catalog. But for every gem, there's two turds. I am grateful she added RTD though (LIAWN on the other hand 🤮). But my personal highlight was definitely her cover of Love of my Life. Which obviously had personal significance to her and is the type of song I want her to sing more of.

I did so looked @ that thread you mentioned, & the MOST RECENT picture on there is from 2016 when she performed on the "Today Show Concert Series" (it is the picture of Celine wearing the multi-colored dress, & her kids are not pictured @ all), so again do not know which pic you are talking about... Can you please post that picture on this thread? (& so what if it is "off-topic", these threads seem to go off-topic all the time anyway!)

The last cancelled date is 22 April, so based on the legal and ethical environment of contract law, 23 April is first date she will be free to appear in public without breaking a clause of her contracts with AEG.

BTW, thanks for informing me on Celine's birthday. It's so crazy that I've been a superfan of hers for 25 years and I had no idea! LOL

I had no idea this was the reason for her silence. That is a really dumb clause if it really is in her contract. Forcing artists to stay silent when things happen is quite questionable

Well the clause would be the right to postponement or cancelation under extraordinary circumstances, including under doctor's orders. Unrelated to the actual contract, of which I obviously do not have a copy, is it not ethical for her to stay out of the public eye during the timeframe she has canceled shows and is supposed to be staying home under her doctor's orders? What would Rene have had her done?

If y'all think she's gonna call in sick from work and then be at home making video messages to her fans, you have been seriously mislead!

I don't know. Adele does it lol. I think that just because she has muscle spasms it doesn't mean that she must be banned from the public eye. Everyone has the right to get sick and still take part in life. It would indeed be problematic if she cancelled shows and then performed somewhere else abroad or on private events, but not posting a few words of seconds of a video for her fans. I mean come on, we are talking about a FEW SMALL POSTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, A FEW NEW PICTURES, OR EVEN A SMALL VIDEO... we are NOT ASKING FOR A FULL CONCERT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT!! We all understand it would NOT LOOK GOOD for her to perform shows right now while she cancelled other shows, NOBODY IS ASKING FOR THAT!! But occassionally a few new pics or a few social media posts or a small video message or something similar of that nature WOULD NOT HURT ANYTHING!! After all, she is NOT THE ONLY PERFORMER in the world to have to cancel shows, movies, appearances, etc, & they do not "go into hiding" like Celine does for months, or even years (as we had not seen any new pics of Celine or heard from her,

except for about the show cancellations, during the past year, which in the past has not been normal behavior for her!)

I personally do not think Celine would get in any legal trouble for posting an occassional picture or message on social media or whatnot... It is not a crime to do that!!

Moreover, she already written several posts while having muscle spasms, e.g. for RCs birthday or when people from the music industry passed away. So it cannot be true that she has to hide because of a clause in her contract. I think that it is her own choice not to reach out to her fans. She could, but she just doesn't want to. It's sad.
