apparently the chrysler promo contract heavily influenced the album project and timeline...sigh

As evidenced by the giant Chrysler logo inside the CD jewel case :lmao:

Francine Chalout, Celine’s former publicist and wife of her (and Rene’s and Maman Dion’s) ghostwriter George-Hébert Germain, has passed away.

Thread about how Francine would make sure French-language journalists got the floor at Céline pressers -

A singer named Jeanick Fournier won Canada’s Got Talent. Apparently she’s known in Quebec for her shows of Céline covers. Here she is with I Surrender -

I don’t follow these things but think she may have sang other Céline songs through the show. Apparently she learned English in part through listening to Celine’s music (kinda how I learned French!) 🙂

I often wonder if Celine ever questions continuing her career when someone in her team passes. Perhaps this woman hasn’t been her publicist for some time but as time goes on and more and more of her original team leave for whatever reason, I wonder does she ever think nah I can’t be bothered going on with all these new people.

I could be totally wrong but I have thought this before.

Without being insensitive, her career needs new people to bring new ideas and keep up with the current trends. Experienced and loyal members are also important, but having new and upcoming staff can bring a lot too.

Yes! That PLUS a Céline who is willing to accept advice, criticism, and orders from someone who isn't René. Yes she can decide what she wants or doesn't want to do. But, she also has to accept that sometimes she should do things she might not want to, but that are necessary for her career and us fans (new music, or revisited music, promotional appearances, music video's, interviews, etc.)

I agree. She needs to do more radio interviews, period. She seems to be more comfortable and less hyper. Though I will say I usually enjoy her British interviews in general. Jonathan Ross, the British Courage interviews...Even Dan Wootton.

It’s still such a crime that she’s never appeared on Graham Norton

Oh I agree completely. She needs new blood. Not convinced she thinks that way though. With her old crowd slowly departing she may wonder at times if she wants to continue.

She really sounds a lot like Celine here. Maybe that's what she was going with. Sounds great.

Another really thoughtful post from Céline.

This, and her Mother’s Day post.. always so much more substantive when they come from her than the mindless Team Céline posts.

Interesting that she wrote different things for Twitter and for Instagram.

One quote from Celine that's always been stuck in my head because it's such a poignant image (don't recall where it was from), went something along the lines of "I'm afraid of being the flower with all its petals falling off" - in reference to always being the youngest, surrounded by much older family and friends. So she was always mentally prepared for it. Not that being prepared makes things any easier...

Yeah, same. And we weren't alone, the French press is all over it (as is Tommy Mottola? on IG)

Looks like she shortened it to meet the criteria for a tweet (fewer characters allowed per post than Instagram).

true, but the words were different in each one. both times she was poetic and so heartfelt.

Has anyone ever noticed if Celine has liked a post by anyone on insta? I was looking at her profile there and she follows 60 people. Lots are Sony pages or fashion pages. I wonder does she ever scroll through her newsfeed and like things lol

Just last week it was the winner of Canada’s Got Talent.

And tonight, 16-year-old Nour (on team Florent Pagny) won The Voice France with her version of Celine’s Vole:

Céline really is all over these talent shows.

It seems Celine and Team Celine doesn't know the meaning of "love".... ironically....

They have put songs like The Last To Know, Think Twice, Change My Mind, The Hard Way in their The Love Song playlist on Spotify...like why? How are they LOVE songs??

I think most people tuning in to a “Céline Dion Love” playlist would expect more songs like “The Power of Love”, “I Want You to Need Me” and “Because You Loved Me” than sad songs about heartache and breakups. That warrants a whole ‘nother playlist lol

I wonder if Team Celine meant to post that video to her Instagram with no sound. Maybe to encourage people to go to her Youtube to hear the latest upload.

The fact I am wondering if it was a mistake

Well it’s a super f***ing boring GIF. The only thing moving is her lips, and they’re hidden behind her mic! They could have used the clip where she makes that dramatic turn. That’s the only part of the video where she makes any interesting movement.
