There was so much talk that Incredible will be the theme song for the Olympics back then. But in the end it wasn't. I wonder what happened. Do you know more?

Because it wasn’t made for olympics. While they were listening to their recordings on studio. Céline is imagining the song being played on olympics. Watch the recording session of Incredible. You’ll see

I think they were just speaking in hypotheticals, not seriously. Celine was saying that the feel & message of the song made her see it as her new Olympic song. The interviewer askedwas the question but the answers they gave didn't confirm that it was going to be the Olympics song. Edited by maki_Dion-er

Was there a behind-the-scenes for the 2002 CBS special? Or a making of? I remember there was a short clip of Destiny's Child talking about their thoughts on Celine and I was hoping to find that.

no I dont think its on that dvd. But there is one definitely. You can see Celine rehersing with them and she is wearing a white sweater and orange sunglasses Edited by ryba

Why was this never released? And when was it recorded?

 

It was released on Tycoon, Plamondon's star-studded English release of the songs of Starmania. She also sang Tonight We Dance (Extravagance!) on this release from 1992. She also released both versions of Ziggy on a single for this album. It's generally not too hard to find on the secondary market.

 

TeamCeline, if you're listening, this would be a good addition for Volume II!

I feel like Celine had a personality change, at least in public, from her early career to her later career.

 

It's a bit hard to explain, but when I watch early 90s interviews I always get the sense that I am watching a different Celine then when I watch a 2010s or 2020s interview for example.

 

It's like two friends both named Celine and you like them both.

Are you thinking about the recently translated French interviews, or more of the older English ones? After watching those French ones, I was really taken aback by how awkward so many of the interviews are.

 

The main change was definitely IMO her first appearance back (I recall seeing the one on Oprah at the time) after her sabbatical. Mother Celine instead of Business Celine.

 

Now we have Boss Celine, too.

Past: Walgreens, companies that made her perfumes, Dodge (before it was merged with Chrylser), La Ronde (?) hotel company in Montreal/Quebec, Coca Cola, Air Canada, umm I am sure there are/were more.

Which interviews are you referring to specifically? And I was not necessarily referring to anything in particular, I have thought this for a long time. But yes the truth is that you can gauge someone's personality best when watching interviews, but it was also stage presence and performane a little too.

The recently translated interview, Invite de Marque 1993, comes to mind. As does Nulle Part Ailleurs 1994 or 1995. It is an interesting study of a woman: the journey we were able to watch as she became an adult in the 80s, as she fell in love and then conquered the charts in the 90s, and finally when she shifted her focus to her children in the naughts. She is without a doubt currently in strongest and most comfortable position she's ever experienced.
