Celine really would have thrived in musical theater.

She'd get to perform and act, two things she enjoys. And perhaps even gotten to dance (depending on the role).

I think she has always said she would not like musical theatre. I don’t know why. I think she enjoys shows that are all about her 😂

She did those comedy skits on TV in Quebec when she was young, not much different from doing theater.

It's odd that she says she wouldn't like it when it encompases several things she likes to do.

Hmmm may I ask where did you heard/read about that (Celine not liking musical theater...)

Because like somebody else on this forum just said, it seems like RIGHT UP HER ALLEY! After all, Celine likes singing & dancing & acting, & she did do comedy skits in Quebec in her younger years... Hmmm that is surprising that she does not like musical theater, I wonder why she doesnt like it...

Yeah, I don't remember in which interview it was but Celine said she didn't like musical theater. Who knows why? It's not for everyone.

Then again, she really liked singing "Habanera/Carmen" and some Maria Callas stuff, so maybe she makes an exception for opera!

Indeed. This is why I think if she’s serious about acting, the perfect door-opener would be a movie musical. She could absolutely shine in the right role and wouldn’t have to pull 8 shows / week at scale!

Always? I only recall one instance of her saying something along those lines (and that was many, many years ago. Possibly before she ever even went to see a live musical). And didn’t she also say at some point she’s never been to an opera, either (at least at the time)?

It was a larry king interview. I think he asked her about Broadway. She sounded very uncomfortable at the thought

What do you guys think of reworking the Courage Tour?

Like what if, she worked the show around the theme of the 4 seasons to represent the stages of life/grief. There could be a tree on stage that changes according to each act.

Act 1: summer/joy

Color: gold, green

Songs: uptempo songs like Im Alive, Nobodys Watching

Act 2: autumn/loss

Color : brown, red

Songs: power ballads, midtempos like lying Down, How Did We Get Here

Act 3: winter/grief

Color: black, violet

Songs: acoustic like Courage, I Will Be Stronger, For The Lover That I lost

Act4 : spring/hope

Color: multicolored

Songs: up tempo like Imperfections, Flying On My Own

I think AEG/Feeling Productions/whomever spent all the money on the current visuals/design for CWT, they're going to want to keep it the same and not spend any money in order to get the best return on their investment.

Why didn't Celine sing "Treat Her Like A Lady" with the winner of The Voice Tessane Chin back in 2013? Tessane is Jamaican and that was the perfect chance to really SLAY that song and give it a bigger audience.

I think it would have been nice to add to her repetoire. And she'd have a lifelong connection to the film and Whoopie. But in the 90s her time was SO precious, she had to be very judicious with her choices. She was on a breakneck pace where everything she touched turned to gold pretty much.
