Had Celine ever talked about or sung Mylene Farmer?

 

She's the only female artist who sings in French who is possibly more popular than her. In France at least.

 

I googled and found that last year Céline shared a Pride Month playlist with 2 Mylène Farmer songs : Désanchantée and Sans contrefaçon.

She barely gives interviews. Extremely successful but very discrete.

Oh, yes! I remember that now. At least some interaction, if minor.

 

Desenchantee is one of my favorite songs of hers, though I only know a small bit of her music. I think Celine and Mylene were most similar musically around time Celine did her 1991 Plamondon record. At least, lyrically very close in themes. Not so much at other points.

The last tour, visually wow. I just wish celines team would be that creative instead just using a catwalk :giggle:

 

Off topic but I discovered Mylene Farmer on Monday wow she has an amazing voice and style of music very upbeat.

Oh yes, Mylene Farmer, the French Madonna. She was also born in Quebec !

I'm not a fan, but I know Libertine and Desenchantee. Her videos are art.

I can watch many other versions of the song, but not whichever version you put. Anyway, yes I love that song. I put her performance in 2009 at Stade du France

Just discovered the song "Unison" was a cover by Celine! :whee:

 

The original came out in 1983 from an artist called Junior. And then in 1990, before Celine, the artist Laura Branigan released an album with a cover of the song on it. You will recall Laura also covered Power of Love before Celine did.

 

Two versions of a song out at the same time by different artists? That's pretty rare.

lol, I thought that it was a Kate Ryan song, but apparently it’s a cover :D I loved Veronics rendition before the Celine concert in 2017 :)

Céline could sell out the Stade de France multiple times today. For the Courage World Tour she sold 186,000 tickets in Paris in about 90 minutes. That’s the equivalent of 3 end-stage Stade de France shows (or 15 Bercy!). For the record, she sold more now than she did back in 1999 when she did perform at the Stade de France twice. Just imagine how much more she would sell if they could schedule an infinite number of shows!

I really wish this pandemic will be over as soon as possible. Since there's a vaccine now. There's progress :)

 

Well about the issues surrounding the pandemic & the vaccines, @ least here in the U.S., is a complete JOKE... here we are soooo behind on giving people the vaccines it is frickin ridicolous!

 

Sorry but it is... On other forums I visit sometimes, such as Ukmix.org, & read from other forum members on there about the excellent progress of many other countries, especially in Europe such as the UK, Isreal, France, Spain, etc when it comes to Covid vaccination, I CAN NOT help but feel jealous of those other countries!

 

Because in the "great ole" U.S., the distribution of the Covid vaccines has been a DISASTER since it started back in December... Here it is March, 3 months later, & in most states, we are STILL stuck in phases 1-A & 1-B! In fact here in the state I live in, Maryland, we are NOT even out of phase 1-A yet, 3 frickin months later! EVERYBODY I know who have been trying to make appointments to get vaccinated (elderly, healthcare workers, & 'essential workers',) are still waiting to get appts, but still NOTHING yet! & @ my job, which is an essential service, we are all STILL waiting to be vaccinated, & the whole company tried to make appts online @ local pharmacies for everybody over a month ago, still have not heard back from anybody! It is sooo frustrating!

 

& the excuses on the news about all of this are: the U.S. has "lost" 1000s of vials of the vaccines, or the vials had to be thrown out, etc... which to me is idiotic because those vaccines SHOULD NOT BE WASTED! But they are being wasted, & hence why we are ions behind the rest of the world!

 

Yes our last president DID mess up alot of things with this whole pandemic, but this new president is NOT doing much better in my opinion, & the vaccine mess we are in proves it 100 percent!

 

Well @ this rate we are going now, the U.S. will be "back to normal" MAYBE in the year 2024... (When I will be 42 years old... fun fun fun) Sorry but I just have to vent my frustrations right now... Carry on & have a great weekend fellow forum members!

Hmmm that IS weird lol... Now personally I am NOT much of a Twitter fan (I havent used my Twitter account in a long time & rarely use it, I just never got into Twitter much compared to other social media such as: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, & Youtube, but that just me lol...)

 

But I do wonder... How does one get their accounts 'suspended' (not only on Twitter but on any social media, forums, etc)? See I have NEVER had an suspended, banned, removed (by not my OWN doing,) account on any site, social media platform, forum, etc So I am truly CURIOUS as to what 'the Red Heads' did for that to happen to THEM lol...

 

Hmmm sometimes I wanna be a "fly on the wall" lol (especially @ Sonys headquarters & wherever Celines so-called "Team" is lol, I think all of us fans do, especially since Celine & her team have pretty much been hibernating for the past year!)

 

& I wonder if the 'Red Heads' other social media accts are currently working, could they help us fellow fans with the Celine DVDS Campaign... After all, they are well known in the Celine fandom & they could help us reach many more fans, as well more people who work with Celine & her team, etc? Something we could ponder...

Well Céline would likely use a configuration which would seat less than 80k but still, 3 shows would definitely be possible.

After all, they are well known in the Celine fandom & they could help us reach many more fans, as well more people who work with Celine & her team, etc? Something we could ponder...

 

I’ve made multiple attempts to contact them, and all have been ignored. Guess that says what they think about the idea! While I don’t expect 100% of fans to be on board, let alone willing to work with us, I can’t help but take offense when people don’t even bother to send a DM or email to politely decline the offer. To me, it shows lack of maturity, but in their case I’ll just have to wonder.

When it comes to the redheads it's definitely their lack of maturity unfortunately.

It is her biggest #1.

And she gives many interviews but it has been more than 20 years that whenever she gives one, it starts with "She never gives any interview" so people started it was true.

For her 2015 album "Interstellaires", she gave no less than 24 interviews, for example !
