Life can be manic

It's like the Titanic

Just as you're sailing along

Without any care

But the wind in your hair

You run into Celine Dion

The French police officer(xavier jugele) that died was a BIG fan of Celine and he was planning on attending one of Celine's concerts this summer in France.

Nice to see the following on the Famille Dion page (run by one of Celine's sisters, I believe) - https://www.facebook.com/lafamilledion

"Suite à l'annonce de cette triste nouvelle, nous tenions à exprimer toutes nos sympathies à la famille et aux proches de Xavier, victime de l'attentat survenu dernièrement à Paris, sur les Champs-Élysées. Toutes nos pensées vont aux victimes de partout à travers le monde, à leurs familles et leurs proches.

There's a new interview at Bild, but it's behind a paywall. Anyone got access?

Well, I found this excerpt: http://www.bunte.de/stars/star-life/schicksalsgeschichten-der-stars/celine-dion-als-mein-mann-starb-habe-ich-aufgehoert-zu-traeumen.html

Courtesy of Google Translate:

"[...] Nevertheless it takes at least an hour until she can sleep. When she wakes up in the morning, she can not remember any dreams - since René died. "I used to dream a lot. But when my husband died, I stopped dreaming. I do not know why. But it's okay not to know. You can ask everything you want, but if you do not get an answer, it makes you crazy. [...]"

That is so sad :( I think she's suffering a lot more than she will ever admit to the public.

And Céline and I have one thing in common now, sadly though. It also takes me a long time until I can sleep

It's awful not being able to fall asleep. A good night for me is if I fall asleep an hour later. Usually takes me almost 2 hours to fall, no matter how shattered I am. Been like it for years. No how she feels 😔

She wasn't with Maman for her 90th? :wtf:

They celebrated her 90th in Vegas, remember the picture with her whole family? That was in Celines house, if I remember correctly.

This is a celebration for her 90th with the Therese Dion Tanguay Foundation.

I can't find anything else on this. :)
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Guylaine Tanguay was there to sing CNQR :hmm:

She always sings a lot of Célines songs. Kinda weird that she sang CNQR though..

I read somewhere that she sells more albums than Céline in Quebec??

And I've also tried to find out if she's related to Céline through her mother because they share the same last name Tanguay but no luck.

I know we are not allowed to posts anything other then official news in this section of the site, but would you be so kind to tell me what this link about Celine's shoes says?

My computer is acting up, so I don't want to click any links to other sites at the moment, but I really would love to know some of the details about this. :)

If you were, you could’ve owned an extravagant mansion in Florida, a restaurant chain and apparently, a warehouse — to fit your 10,000 pairs of shoes of course.

The Canadian diva has always been praised for her elegant style and considering the apparent amount of items she has to choose from, it’s no longer a surprise.

The 49-year-old singer headed to Monday night’s star-studded Met Gala and revealed the insane fact to Women’s Wear Daily as well as her inability to part with any of her wardrobe items.

“I cannot give anything away because every piece that I buy has brought me to where I am tonight, They’re part of every step that I take and I have an attachment to it,” she said.

“You can call it crazy. I keep everything, but I just keep buying a bigger [warehouse] space. I have 10,000 pairs of shoes,” she added.

Despite being in the spotlight for more than four decades, Dion’s attendance to the exclusive New York gala was actually the first time she’d been.

“This is like having a job for the first time or having a kiss for the first time — this is big,” she told WWD. “I’m not going to have enough eyes [to see it all].”

Dion’s shoe figure is even crazier when you compare it to a September, 2013 interview she did with Ellen DeGeneres where the singer revealed her Florida mansion housed 3,000 pairs of shoes.

A little bit of maths will lead you to the realisation that Dion has accumulated 7,000 pairs of shoes in less than four years.

That’s 163 pairs a month or, if you want to go even further, five pairs of shoes a day.

It’s probably lucky then that Forbes estimated the singer was worth close to US $380 million in June last year.

How do you find that the flawless performance of L'amour existe encore didn't make it into the Live à Paris album? This is one of the best performances she has ever done of the song vocally (next with the Olympia one), and I can't understand how they ruled out this song in the album but did include English performances such as RDMH or the bonus track To Love You More (for French speaking audiences, really??) :wtf:

Yes, I'd love to have this live version of L'amour existe encore on CD in this concert :innocent:

I always thought it may have been because it had already been on the Olympia album, and the Paris album was also at a time when anglophones were becoming more aware of her French stuff.

I was so upset they cut so much from the live cd, for me especially LBDB. I thought this was one of the highlights of the concert, the audience singing etc. Loved it - still love it. But as this was also on Olympia I can understand why it wasn't included on the cd.

Wish they'd rerelease the cd - in full!

Yeah! Get rid of the English songs and include those two! LBDB was an outstanding performance in that concert too, I agree!
