That's normal for rich people/business people. It's normal to use assets for improvements, investments or even building a new home so that your personal money isn't tied up.

My boss remortgages assets all of the time to pay for various things. That doesn't mean he's broke... Far from it.

Of course it could mean Celine hasn't been paid for a year and Rene gambled away all her money. That's what Jose Lambiet really wanted to say in his story.

I was thinking it was a business thing

But I'm just afraid the media will run with this and make up BS stories!

But I guess that's the nature of the business

I think that they are probably using the money towards building their new Vegas house. Last time I heard (which was over a year ago) they were building a much bigger house on Lake Mead in Las Vegas. I haven't heard anymore news on that...which means maybe they put a stop to the building of it ever since Rene's cancer diagnosis, which makes total sense.

Like what @incognito said, they probably just don't want to use their personal accounts towards most of the house.

Et je t'aime encore, comme dans les chansons banales...

Of course I expected Edith Piaf at No 1, but I don't know the singer Barbara too.

Monique Andrée Serf (June 9, 1930 – November 24, 1997), whose stage name was Barbara, was a French singer. She took her stage name from her Russian grandmother, Varvara Brodsky. Her song "L'Aigle noir" sold twenty four thousand in twelve hours.[1

Is it just me or does this Jose Lambiet guy look suspiciously like a Bond villain? Not sure where if that is true he would be able to obtain that level or information, surely there would be some sort of data protection etc at the banks involved.

30 years ago today, Céline wrapped up her first professional tour with 3 performances at Place des Arts in Montreal. The tour kicked off on March 26th 1985 in Amos, Québec. Céline would go on to give 32 performances in 24 different cities in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick.

Céline had only sang before an audience on four occasions prior to this tour: a show at La Ronde in 1983, two performances at the port of Québec in 1984, and an evening at Place des Arts for the Quebec Association for Cystic Fibrosis.

Following the immense success of this tour, Céline returned to the stage in October of that year to perform additional shows in 25 cities in Quebec. "Céline Dion en concert" which was released in 1986, was recorded on the 31st of May, 1985 in Montreal under the musical direction of Paul Baillargeon.

a song like this would be great for Celine...this is very very good. It is the new song by Coeur de pirate. Too european maybe?

I read in some of these threads how we wish Celine would have done this or done that, done it this way ect., in her videos and career. Do y'all feel that her reputation, her "classiness" sometimes holds her back from being a certain way, from just letting go in her videos? (English side I guess) In other words, they will only direct her a certain way? Is her "team" too involved that they reject anything "silly" or going against her reputation? In the Mariah section someone (Bell) posted her new video and I actually like it. I'm not a Mariah fan but it is a "cutesy"/ relaxed video.

(Just got my internet back up and working so I had some catching up to do  )

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Yeah I certainly do! When you look at PQTME video I think this is the most artistic and most impressive video. I don't think Sony would have dared to make a video like that for English singles. Those are usually pretty standard, romantic and decent (besides DYGEL :P LOL). But then again usually the chosen singles are so safe, they can't really have a daring video...

I wish they had included more of the French "authenticity" in her English career. And made that side a bit more daring and not just LOVE LOVE LOVE. Plus they should stop with these narrating videos. We ve had them over and over again since TTWII. abandoning the "story" from TC was a big missed chance. She should be part of the video story again.... not narrate it! And I'd love to see a video in which she actually dances! (And which people will love to reenact on YouTube :P )

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Good God, where have I been? I must have been living under a rock! I just learned Ruth Pointer of The Pointer Sisters ("I'm So Excited," "Slow Hand," "Jump (For My Love)") did backing vocals for Celine's "Unison" album on the song "Love By Another Name"!

Isn't it usually down to the mv director? They usually have the whole concept for the video.

I should think so. It's not particularly rare. Hope you find it.

Canadian Women's Soccer Team gets a little inspiration from Celine Dion

That's the conclusion I think we can all come to upon hearing that the Canadian National Women's Soccer team uses Celine Dion's version of "The Power Of Love" as their inspirational post-game song after every match.

"You know, it’s just one of those things, after every game, you always play a slower song," she told Fitz-Gerald. "We love Celine Dion. And that’s a song that everybody seemed to know. It caught on. And I think it’s a combination of loving Celine Dion and a song that everybody knew. And we love each other," she told Fitz-Gerald."
