This morning while waiting at the tram station, there was a guy (not looking like he was a fan of Celine IMO) wearing a t-shirt "The best of 1994".

 

There were:

- Nelson Mandela became President of South Africa

- Tunnel channel opened

- Celine Dion's "The power of love" was #1

 

I was like.... you rock Celine !!!! :clap: :clap: :clap:

Last night I was flipping through the channels on tv and on Entertainment Tonight it said there was going to be an interview with Celine. I watched the whole thing and there was nothing about Celine. :hmm:

 

Wonder what happened there? All I remember reading was, Lady Gaga was going to be inducted into the hall of fame or something like that, something about Kate Winslet's new movie and then it said interview with Celine Dion.

 

It was probably just an error in the tv guide or something. Did anyone else notice this last night?

Omggggg I would LOVE new albums!!! Aldo's definitely on the right track with new albums so quick after she comes back. The "news" thread says Celine fan things are saying new. Can't wait if it's true!

She won the court case to use the domain name celinedion.com on February 21st 2001. :thumbsup2:

Thanks for that info! 2001 is kind of late though. I wonder why they didn't try to get the domain sooner

I believe it has to do with the number of posts you have. After so many it changes the name of the level you are in.

It's so typical that Sony and Team Celine did not grasp at the possiblities of the Internet way ahead of it's time and registered www.celinedion.com first! I suppose that was the prelude of the love/hate relationship Céline has with the digital world.

 

- that the domain name in dispute is identical to the "Celine Dion" famous name and trade mark, which were extremely well established in association with CD music recordings, videos, live performances and other merchandise, well before the Respondent first registered the domain name in suit on March 16, 1997.

 

- that the Respondent has not, since securing registration of the domain name in dispute in 1999, used the Celine Dion trade marks or any variant thereof with any legitimate offering of wares or services, has no public reputation or association with those marks and has not become commonly known by them.

 

So the respondent registered the domain in March 1997... and Sony wasn't bothered untill 1999...That doesn't really show a lot of foresight from their side...

Of course it's fake, but I would live this setlist for a French show like in Paris. I found it on instagram a few days ago.

It's interesting . .I looked back at my old cassette tapes from the '90s --

 

TCOML has no reference to the Internet

"The French Album" and FIY both say "For more information, connect with Sony Online at http://www.sony.com" (FIY also advertises Celine Phone Cards :giggle: )

And then LTAL refers to celineonline.com

 

So she must have gotten her own website in 1997 -- probably not very long after that guy registered it in March (LTAL came out in November). They just missed it. . .

I first went on Celine websites in the school computer room too, around 1998. I don't remember spending much time on the official website, though . . I remember a fan site called The Colour of My Love that had an amazing archive of newspaper articles and a chart of all Celine's siblings and their birthdays. And even without videos, it loaded sloooowly, after we'd spent a good 10 minutes just connecting to the Internet . .
