Popular Post NicoNV Posted June 17, 2014 at 12:43 AM Popular Post Posted June 17, 2014 at 12:43 AM (edited) Hello everyone, Today is my 1-year anniversary with the Celine Dion Forum! One year ago today I was searching online for advice about seats for the Vegas show, and stumbled upon Celine Dion Forum. Over the course of the past year, so many of you have made me laugh, and have shared with me different perspectives on a variety of issues, not to mention taught me so much about Celine and her music! It has been great! I am truly grateful for Celine Dion's music. Her music has been interwoven throughout my life. Her repertoire is filled with songs that comforted me during difficult moments, and celebrated triumphs and change. I grew up with her music. I am so grateful her music has been there, and recognize that this is due to the work of both Celine and Rene! Most importantly, her music reminds me of my family. My career has required I move away from most of my family (hopefully, just a temporary separation). When I miss my family, I can listen to Celine's music and I am immediately reminded of home. I live close to Vegas, and I go to the “Celine” show from time to time. Typically, I go to the "Celine" show when my family gets the chance to visit. But, one day, I logged on to this site and asked about chances of getting last minute tickets, and that day I ended up getting a great seat! When I went to the show that night, I was mostly going to hear her music and to feel surrounded by memories of my family. I am sure people there thought I was a total dork, because I am sure I cried at least three times. I knew no one there that night. But, I knew her music, and it's her music that reminds me of my home. My fandom is truly rooted in her music, more so than her image or anything else connected to her. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of hers and the way she has conducted herself in an industry that would have paid her to cave in years ago. I recognize that she is an amazing singer, perfect technical ability, unparalleled not just by singers in her generation but also by most any singer ever. I appreciate Celine Dion's work ethic, and I admire her balance of family and career (not to mention, as most any girl would, I admire her shoe collection). I remember hearing her say in an interview that her job was hard, but she could quit anytime, it was a choice. She probably made that comment off-hand, but I remember it still. My job can be emotionally taxing. When I feel overwhelmed, I remember it's a choice, and quitting isn't in my heart. I love my career, and I am grateful for it. For me, it comes down to this: as silly as this may sound, her music helped me be more of myself. Thank you everyone on this forum! I have enjoyed learning more about her career, and I have enjoyed sharing thoughts and exchanging thoughts and opinions with all of you. It's been a great year in my life, I have a lot of changes going on right now, but I trust the best is yet to come! Edited June 17, 2014 at 01:03 AM by NicoNV 8
sfbaysinger Posted June 18, 2014 at 02:19 PM Posted June 18, 2014 at 02:19 PM I've been away for a while, but from what I've heard, a rather controversial member got banned? Also, I am SICK of people saying her career is over. It really ruins her for me. There needs to be a complaining section on the forum, seriously. And, I am SO glad Mego is not leaving! That would be too weird, too much too fast. 5 L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
Angel2006 Posted June 18, 2014 at 08:34 PM Posted June 18, 2014 at 08:34 PM It's kinda strange that Celine went to a party at Nobu recently to celebrate her 200th Vegas show and there are know videos or pics, other then one or two fan pics. I hope we get more pics of Celine at the Nobu party. Usually there are press pics, or a video. I love that light pink dress that Celine was wearing that night. 1

I think mego has the capabilities to change arrangements and as someone else said it could be Rene who won't change anything Kev x I respect Mego for his talent and for his tenure with Celine. But he always ruins her upbeat songs when he arranges them for the stage. TTWII was so beyond boring. The studio version has such a bombastic feel to it, and then the live version is a flat line. IDAN is alright live, I can deal with that...LCMM is even a little blah in the live arrangement. I would love someone to come in and revamp her upbeat numbers. 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

LukeD Posted June 20, 2014 at 06:33 PM Posted June 20, 2014 at 06:33 PM I have a thought regarding the next album of Celine and I want to know what you people think about it... The past weeks I have been into Thalia's music (that gorgeous looking woman who played in telenovelas during the 90s, has recorded smash selling Spanish records and is married to Tommy Mottola) and I have nothing but prasings for her! In 2009 she released an album of new songs that were recorded live during a concert in front of an audience. How awesome would it be if Celine released a similar album? Could be filled with modern, polished ballads. She could also go for acoustic tracks. It'd be good for her image, she'd show people she still got it vocally (cause some might were unimpressed with the raw vocals of LMBTL) and that she evolves as an artist in the sense that she's trying something new and doesn't resort to her used recipes. Just take a taste and tell me what you think: 6
Peppercorn1991 Posted June 20, 2014 at 06:48 PM Posted June 20, 2014 at 06:48 PM It would also mean that singles don't matter... Which is probably a good direction... No need to keep trying Kev x 1

And if the album flops we can all excuse it by saying 'hey, it was a live album'. But no, we wouldn't do that, we are not Mariah fans. 2

It's an interesting article! My question though to those of you who know the numbers, wasn't the gross for A New Day more than 382.5 million? I thought the show grossed well over 400 million? Minor point though, I guess. Regardless, she is clearly an asset to Vegas!

Matias Posted June 21, 2014 at 04:47 PM Posted June 21, 2014 at 04:47 PM Richard Gauthier, the photographer and longtime collaborator of Celine Dion and René, claims $1.150.000 from the couple for canceling the project "A Photo Exhibition, life of the famous family".The project was approved by René but on January 20, the photographer received an email by him, saying that they cannot continue with this project. The couple has deadline to respond until Tuesday. Something is not going well here, why the project was cancelled!! http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maic6m257V1rbfceqo2_250.gif"No no, put it back..."
