So I wonder what percentage the new guy gets? I have always wondered what Rene's percentage was or how they divided that.

 

There was a Julie Synder interview with Rene ca. 1995 where he said he'd had a contract with Celine when she first came to him (a 5 year one, I think), but they didn't have a contract anymore. I think I've read elsewhere that they founded Feeling Productions together when Celine turned 18 (which would make sense -- 5 year contract starting when she was 13 would end when she was 18). . . I think it's techinically the company Feeling that manages Celine's career. This is totally a guess, but my guess is that since Celine turned 18, the money went to Feeling, and my guess is that they have equal shares in that. But who really knows? I'm sure they'll never discuss it publicly, and once they were married, I suppose it didn't really matter.

This is the interview I was talking about, at 4:35. It's in French, so I didn't get everythying, but I'm pretty sure Julie asked if there was a contract between them, and Rene said no -- that there had been when she first started out, but none since then. He also says Celine could say, "Bye, I'm going to find another manager," if she wanted to, and Julie seems to laugh at that as preposterous. I think he also said he'd never leave Celine. :wub:

Don't know where to put this but tonight's episode of Chelsea Handler, the guy who introduces the shows and topics of discussion gets to end with a witty comment, said "I love you Celine Dion." They showed a quick slow-mo of her from the Andrea Bocelli Central Park footage and then the show started! Pretty cool, it's the latest episode if anyone wants to catch it.

So according to one of Celines musicians on twitter

Someone was sleeping in the front row last night and during BYLM Celine called them out and said something like Rene falls asleep during my shows too and he says its a compliment.

Can't believe someone actually fell asleep though lol

If only Sony hired me as her rereleases specialist :dots:

You wouldn't get any work done as you'd be in the vaults looking for and then listening to all the unreleased stuff. Haha

That's hilarious! I can understand though my dad fell asleep at a carrie Underwood concert because she didn't come out until almost 11:00 and he gets up at 3:30 for work. Luckily she didn't see him though and say something!

Can't believe someone actually fell asleep though lol

Does anybody remember a few Months ago there was a contest for something,, and if you enter you will get 2 tickets to the show and dinner with her after the show, Did anybody that you know of won this ,, and I think you get to stay @ CP.

I really wish 3 Boys and a New Show was a reoccurring series. :down:

 

That would be kinda cool! It'd be nice to see what went on even more backstage and how they ran everything and the downtime.

I get that older people fall asleep at stuff, but wow. As a massage therapist, when people fall asleep on the table, it actually is a compliment. It means they're so relaxed and that's the goal. But seriously. Wow, yeah, definitely not a fan.

I found an online archive of the Quebec newspaper La Presse -- it doesn't seem searchable, and each issue loads really slowly, so you kind of have to know what you're looking for, but I've been having fun looking up significant Celine dates. She was on the cover on both May 1 and May 2, 1988 after winning Eurovision. It's about Celine and Rene's return to Quebec the day after and how they were greeted by tons of journalists (and fans, too, I think). It says that Celine looked exhausted -- which is kind of funny, considering that we all know now that she probably didn't get much sleep the night before. :giggle:

 

It also says that when they were on a British Airways flight between Dublin and London, the pilot congratulated them, and all the passengers applauded. Too cute! (I guess they didn't have a private jet yet!)

The scene on the Water from the Moon video, where she comes in and pushes him in front of the fridge and then instead of going after him turns to the fridge.. it's too funny.
