She probably had to fight for time to say things with the size of her family :giggle:

Woman, me either! I love me some TC album for sure. I love the rock songs, the rnb ones, etc... But I guess its a matter of taste. Tho there is a lot of hate for it for reasom but thats ok. :)

Me three! I love that album!! And the timing of when it came out....with some of the songs on there, it just became a really personal album for me. Maybe people really disliked it because it was her first "different" album? And after that people got used to the idea for when LMBTL came out.

I'm not francophone so it's not super easy for me to pick up on french accents. Although I know Celine's like the back of my hand :-D idk it seems like when she does interviews in Québec there's a little thicker accent. Here's a good example:

I love how in the beginning she's like "OK guys we are rolling!"

I dislike TC mostly because I just don't like the harder rock sounds - whether it's Celine or anyone else singing it. I literally cannot listen to Can't Fight the Feeling or That's Just the Woman in Me . . I just dislike the sound of that type of music. And I find many of the ballads (A Song For You, Skies of LA) boring. And then most of the rest of the songs, for me, are ok but that not special. My Love is lyrically interesting - and personal to Celine - but the live version is 100 times better than the album version -- and the song itself, in terms of melody, is pretty uninspired. This Time is also lyrically interesting -- probably one of the better songs on the album.

Also, I think her voice just wasn't in that great shape. She's Celine Dion, so it sounded pretty good, of course, but I think that, in terms of the quality of her voice, it's easily her weakest album.

So LMBTL was such a treat for me -- her voice is in incredible shape, and she chose fabulous songs with great melodies, great uptempo songs, songs that were personal to her, songs that told stories, fun duets . . Love it!

For me, it's not a question of getting used to Celine doing something different . . I'm never going to like most rock music, whether Celine or anyone else is singing it. I liked LMBTL because I like the styles of the songs, I love Celine's voice, and I adore Celine.

the accent is not always the same, from program to program, If you compare Le banquier to Tout le monde en en parle, there is a world of difference. And she really makes an effort when she is in France, without taking too much the France french accent.

this is why i'm mad about people who only know the titanic song and judge her to be just able to do that. She is so much more, and could be everything else also, in our mind. We always want more, it is a good sign i would think. She is an oasis, and we don't meet her enough, but there's still the versatile bottle to help us with our thirst.

French Celine is a real master piece while the English Celine are more commercial for international taste.

i love both of them, but the french Céline is so unique, and it is true than the english Celine is still searching sometimes her identity, even if i think some songs are very her in english too..call the man, i knew i loved you, i surrender, seduce me, falling into you, immortality , to name a few. those songs belongs to Celine.

Ok not to be mean...but what's this French and English Celine nonsense.....Celine Dion is Celine Dion, but I kind of agree with a poster here, the French music Celine Dion is a whole other animal than her English career. The people in her international career don't care too much about the French music she has sang because it is not in their market. Sure it's wrong, but hey! it's their fault they have become "anglo centric". I know as a latina, I am glad Spanish might have an advantage to be discovered with the international language market(in the U.S.), but when it comes to other languages its harder for the people to be interested. It's a shame and I know I probably said somethings that were wrong.

This is why I said that this was a matter of taste. You said that you just don't like the "rock" sound too much so of course you aren't going to like this album, and LMBTL was better because of the music.

I honestly love rock but not all kinds(because rock has sub genres), I like a lot of rock songs, and I love certain bands. This shows me that not everyone is going to have the same taste as me and not going to like this album as much as I do.

With that being said, I love LMBTL no doubt about it. I just don't share the same opinion as others when it comes to this album.

Funny the different tastes.....

My favorite from TC is "That´s just the woman" and I love "Can´t fight the feeling" just because I´m crazy about bass.

For me "A song for you" is a masterpiece.

But "Skies of LA' is really boring..... :giggle:

Lol, any excuse to turn the volume up!!!

SOL is beautiful when played on the piano, i never used to like it, but i'm appreciating it more now.

No TC isn't a masterpiece, but it has some great songs on there. So many people wanted her to do "something a bit different, more edgy" - she did, and surprise - lots of people didn't like it. I treat the TC album like all her others, there are songs i love, songs i like, and songs i don't really listen to. LMBTL will be the same. Just like every other album i own by other singers.

I agree with whoever said that it was a mistake not to release an english concert dvd of LTAL tour. At the pinnacle of her career, you'd have thought Sony would have milked every little thing wouldn't you??lol

Talking about TC and LMBTL... The only true similarity I notice between these albums is that they work up to track 7 and then they become inconsistent, more like a hit or miss. The first 7 songs in TC are edgy (ML is a soft ballad but the lyrics are rather confessional and edgy, something that was missing from Celine's discography) like they were supposed to be since TC was marketed as an edgy album. Same way the first 7 songs in LMBTL are modern like the album itself was supposed to be (TY while not entirely dated sounds more like a song for the OH album). TC becomes a mixed bag because of many safe choices that follow, there are songs which sound dated (ND, ASFY, CFTF, RNTTRO) and Celine keeps on going from one style to another. The issue with LMBTL is that the second half is defined by the old covers which make the new recordings sound a bit dated and as a result the album loses its freshness. Now that I think of it, maybe if we put the first 7 songs of TC together with the first 7 songs of LMBTL we are getting a really edgy and modern album from Celine, a sound that has nothing to do with her 90s pop balladry. For me it's just another way to differentiate her career and songs. She basically has two careers, IMO. She has an English career and a French career, each with their own respective market. Of course Celine is Celine, it's just a way to distinguish two very different aspects of her career. Most artists, even if they have recognition in a different country, only have recognition for their English songs or whatever language they sing in; Celine is recognizable pretty much anywhere for both, which is also where I think this idea comes from.

hi everyone :-)

is there anyone of you who has this book and what is it about ? i saw it on facebook

I wonder if this has an English translation as well? I can only seem to find it in French on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co...disableWs.js#sf

But I'm not sure about the exact version in this picture, this one is slightly different but it's the same book.
