Sorry I've been disconnected this week to answer and sorry you felt my post "soooo confusing" ;) yeah.. probably I'm confused about the use of the "date/outdate-dated/outdated" words, etc... What I was trying to say is that LMBTL is the only song in the album, in my opinion, that sounds completely and satisfactorily fresh and modern, like a modern hit (a modern ballad like Diamonds (Sia's touch) ) So I thought that "dated" was the opposite of outdated....

 

That's an interesting point. I'm not sure I agree, though . . . I think Breakaway has a very current ballad sound in a "Someone Like You"/Adele kind of way. . .but I just adore Breakaway and keep bringing it up whenever possible.

 

Also -- the word "dated" is usually used in a slightly negative way to indicate something that sounds or looks like it was from a paricular time period (or "date."). For instance, the movie version of Unfinished Songs . .it sounded like it was from 1999, so it sounded really "dated" (to 1999) and not current. "Outdated" just means not current or modern, without having to be tied to a specific time period like "dated."

Just watching the 2007 Oprah interview/performances when she sang a new day live (slow version), what I wouldn't give to hear that with the live orchestra at the Celine show in Vegas. I know it's a new show and she probably doesn't want to sing it again, but it would be spectacular!

“I don't want to,” Dion says without missing a beat. “I have chosen my life. I have chosen to be here. If I wanted to be somewhere else, I would be there. Like right now, I don't want to have this headache but I'll take it because no day's perfect. I really want to be here.”

Lol my sister has lived out of the US for about 8 years (Guam, Japan, Italy) and she would always talk about how bad the US is going downhill. She DID NOT want to come back here because she doesn't want her kids raised here, but they had no choice. They are in Virginia now, but they plan on retiring in Japan or Guam. She fell in love with the people and culture in those two places. OR they might end up changing their mind because family is here :D

 

I still love my little southern, gossiping town :)

Exactly, I don't know why people still think that. I can't wait to get out an experience, I envy my sister and nephews!
