Anyone notice Celine taps her plane 5 times on the outside before she gets on? Might be old news but I noticed it in the intro video on the sur les plaines dvd.

 

I've seen her tapping and knocking lots of things..but that was the first time I saw her tapping her plane....and it was filmed in Finland!! :wub:

I was watching my ONCP DVD yestarday, and I saw that Elise (Celine's long-time background singer) was part of Garou's band during the Ten Days/ Tomber video from 2002 :blink:

 

Was she with Garou while Celine was on her break?

Well I know five is her lucky number. But I always though she write "xo..." Like continued hugs and kisses.

Ahh...I hope not! Doesn't she have shortish hair, with extensions, anyway? But hey, it's only hair. Even if she was bald, I would love her.

Oh hi, it's been forever since I've posted! Just wanted to gloat mention in this post that I got to see her TWICE last month. January 23rd in Miami (11th row) and January 30th in Sunrise (7th row).

 

Well it only took me 16 years as a Celine fan to finally get this close, but I was one of the lucky ones who got to shake her hand as she was leaving on the 30th! *screams like a 10-year old at a Jonas Brothers concert*

yeah I guess she was, the woman got to eat! :P LOL!! Also I think either Elise or Julie (?) was a background singer for Lara Fabian and both or one of them did backup vocals for the albums of Lara and Isabelle Boulay :thumbsup2:

Random question...so I guess this is the place for it. I'm trying to listen to more French music to help with my French...anyone know a french station from Quebec/France that plays pop/rock....hopefully that plays some Celine as well. Thanks!

Think i remember reading in a book about her that when she started signing autographs she signed Love Celine xx and then saw that it was 2 and not 5, and wasn't happy about that, so instead of xxxxx she just did 3 dots after instead. On the pics i've had autographed it looks like xx... but perhaps that's just the way i see it!!! :)

does anyone know why she never sings That's The Way it is? it was a chart topper and she didn't sing it in vegas or on her tour. i love that song and i wish she would. Edited by mors1218

I find it strange it wasn't added to the US leg of the tour, since it was her last Top 10 hit here. Maybe it was one of the 15 rehearsed songs she never performed.

maybe it's a bit too difficult to sing live. She never sang it in the key she recorded it in. but I do love it though, but then again, ít's a shame that 95% of her discography is discarded! -_- Edited by Davey84

Maybe because it is one of her most difficult songs to perform live but i love that song more than I´m Alive but both songs are great.

You´ll never know maybe she will perform it again the last time she did was on the benefit Aren´t They All Our Children back in 2002 acompanied by David Foster on the piano. :clap:

I think part of it has to do with how "flat" the song sounds live when compared to the album version. There just isn't as much power to it when it's live. However, an easy fix for this would be to rearrange some of the instrumentation like what was done to "I'm Alive" during the Taking Chances World Tour.

 

I do hope that "That's The Way It Is" makes it into part of the set list for her new Vegas show starting next year. A few others that haven't been performed in a while that would be great are "If You Asked Me To," "A New Day Has Come (Radio Remix)," and "Misled."

 

Anyway...this is a "That's The Way It Is" thread so I'm not going to ramble on about her other material. Here's to hoping for good recognition of this song in the months and years to come. And THAT'S THE WAY IT IS!

the "LV" sign is something Celine or Rene has never shared with the public...and they probably never will.

Why wasn't "A New Day Has Come" performed on the UK leg of the tour when it was her last Top 10 hit here? We could go on. I think we just have to face it that there are some songs that we're never going to hear live and others that she will only perform every now and again.

 

We also have to accept that we're going to be stuck with regulars like "The Power Of Love" forever!! LOL

 

Well, I think the reason "A New Day Has Come" wasn't included in the U.K. is because of what happened in Korea (before she got to the U.K.). During the performance Céline forgot the lyrics and ended up adlibbing quite a bit of the song. Since Céline is too much of a personal perfectionist (I'm guilty of this myself) she probably decided to nix the song altogether from the tour. It was probably too much of a worry on her mind. This is only a guess on my part, though.
