Actually I really like what he did for Lights Down Low :)

It sounds pretty good. As someone commented: it should be on the radio.

I would love he treats Ashes so well.

 

And why not asking Céline's fans? I found him cute and respectful, wanting to ask what people likes. It shows some interest in other people taste and expectations ^_^

Well it seems he has already done official mixes for Pitbull/Christina Aguilera, Britney, Ricky Martin, Rob Thomas, Sean Paul (Those on iTunes) and stated as official on his youtube channel for P!nk, Martina and the Diamonds, Lorde, Chromeo, Charli XCX, among others and worked for Mtv and Z100 .... would you have prefered a "Celebrity" Dj as Aoki, Diplo or Guetta?

Hello you guys,

 

Just got back from the cinema..

DP2 really is a blast. It's a well crafted, often hilarious, romantic and even emotional movie. Really something else.

Noteworthy also are the gay references Deadpool makes.. he genuinely seems to be attracted to guys in this movie I'd say.

 

So how's Ashes embedded in the movie?.. well, quite prominently. To illustrate:

Like in the first movie, DP2 starts with something like a prologue, culminating in the death of Deadpool's girlfriend (he's probably bisexual, even though he proposes to be penetrated by her just before she gets killed). Shortly thereafter the opening credits start playing a shortened version of Ashes; accompanying stereotype slowmotion images, many with fire and water-like footage, clearly referring to James Bond (read: Skyfall). Celine's vocal in the song really seems more present than in the regular audio, they did something in the mixing.. I'm sure it was not just the surround system of the cinema.

 

Although Ashes isn't featured anywhere else in the movie (also nowhere in the end credits), the theme -piano intro like- returns on some places, rather subtly.

 

I must stress, however, that Celine is not mentioned anywhere in the movie. This is all the more striking since many other veteran acts like Barbra and Cher (who's If I Can Turn Back Time is presented like the conclusion of the movie) very much are.

In my opinion, there's even a bit too much referring to media, movies, soundtracks etcetera. Sometimes it seems a bit incongruent and capricious.

 

Luckily Ashes is presented in the beginning of the movie.. I hope though enough people will understand it's Celine singing .. I now realize that unlike in some Bond movies the name of the title song and the singer are not mentioned in the opening credits...

Céline Marie Claudette Dion, first of her name, of Charlemagne, Que., has previously lent her iconic pipes to songs off the soundtracks of classic films like Beauty and the Beast (it’s the titular song!) and Titanic (“My Heart Will Go On”) to great effect: the tracks both won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1991 and 1997. And even when the films haven’t been great (Up Close and Personal, 1996), the songs have been hits for Dion (“Because You Loved Me,” also an Oscar nominee). That’s her power (of love).

So, yes, that Céline. And, yes, that Deadpool.

It’s all downhill from the credits, though. Not because the movie doesn’t make good on a promise to do exactly what it sets out to, but because it does exactly and only that. Deadpool 2 is an entirely predictable affair that, at 120 minutes, spoils itself.

Upon deeper reflection, the duo of Céline Dion and Deadpool actually makes perfect sense. Like listening to the diva’s songs, you think, surely, by the third act, it cannot get any higher or crazier. But it does! The difference is Dion’s performances are X-quisite, X-citing even, while Deadpool’s is just X-cessive. "

Let’s see what’s going to happen on youtube tonight after a first day in USA, if the movie has a huge success even if the reviews are not really good...it could increase faster, few millions more in few hours who knows

The only reason I can think of is that Sony wants to play all the cards on the first single and not Ashes. We all know there are always "incentives" if you want a song to be played so they must be saving up for the single to promote the album.

Sony doesn't want to play any cards. I believe there will be no videoclip for any of the future singles of the next album. IMO there will be just some promo in the beginning, 3-4 TV shows and that's all; the album will be forgotten until Celine perfoms a few songs in the '19 Summer Tour.

Deadpool 2 has been censored for 18 years here in Brazil, nor accompanied by parents under 18 can see the film, which is causing a major criticism.

What strikes me is that the movie is already in good shape on websites.

Apparently we should soon see a noticeable difference regarding her social media updates according to someone I spoke to this week from her team.
