Hate to curb the enthusiasm. Just watched the film here in Kenya. OK so a shortened version of the song played over the opening credits overshadowed by the credits themselves which were where most audience attention will be. Really don't think the film will do much to ignite the song organically. Only a massive marketing push will get it to be a true hit. The movie itself was blah and that's me being a Deadpool fan. 1 is definitely better than 2. Wish I could be more positive, but happy to be proven wrong.

 

The movie definitely needed Celine for the marketing push rather than the other way round.

I do not understand the disappoint, really. Did anyone expect them to play it as a movie background or something? It is actually great it was played that early on, I personally run once the credits start to avoid the crowds.

Yes. Céline has had her time of ruling radio AirPlay, of being everywhere and the most talked about singer. It’s impossible for that to be maintained for decades. So Deadpool was marketing and PR genius. All these kids who wouldn’t give her a second glance saw her because they wanted to watch the video for some possible movie footage and to see Deadpool dancing. What is wrong with that? How is it a bad thing that millions of people who maybe don’t like, aren’t bothered by or don’t know Céline watched her video and bought her song?

Whatever it takes to expose Celine to the next generation, we gotta do it. To keep her legacy going for generations to come. It's up to us.

Exactly. Do you know how many new Celine listeners to the Deadpool video are now saying they are going to get the song off Spotify. Alot! Not to mention, ALL the reaction videos that came there for Deadpool without exception say that Ashes is such a great song and love the song and vocals.

Some people are complaining that reaction videos are pointless... maybe to some generations but now it’s the thing to do.... the fact the younger generation are doing so many reaction videos shows what an impact it has had!
