I'm so glad Celine's song will be playing over the opening credits of Deadpool2, and not the closing credits, so people will be forced to listen to her amazing vocals. This will definitely get her the attention she needs to get a nomination for Best original song for a movie, Oscar nomination. Ryan is so smart.

He uses Celine as a vehicle to catapult his movie into Oscars territory. This is the only glimpse that this movie will have of the Oscars - Best original song for a movie - And the award goes to Ashes, sung by Celine Dion. The glory days of MHWGO are upon us again folks.

As for the movie reviews from critics, it got 84% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes now. It tends to be successful.

But because of streaming, the song debuted at #19 on the US Bubbling Under Chart and #72 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Nice move to put Ashes on the title sequence and if you notice all the reviews are describing it as a "James Bond style" sequence... so if it's any indication, I'm guessing they are also gunning for a Best Original Song nomination... the last two Bond theme songs [used as title sequence too] have won the Oscar.... so fingers crossed their strategy will work...

Yesterday while on a plane flying back home from Canary Islands I found a magazine (Air Europa) that had Ryan Reynolds on the cover promoting Deadpool... Of course I got it to see if he mentioned something about the soundtrack but no luck

Please stop comparing every song with Ashes, especially in terms of millions of views. It doesn't mean a thing. Moreover, it is the song that won the ESC. Bad or not, we should not call it trash/crap. Since when is the quality of a song/video in analogy with the number of views? I don't know what's the point of talking about the ESC winner song here, but if any of you is trying to figure out why one song has millions of more views than Céline's song in less time, you're either plainly naïve or you just don't know the times where we live in today.

 

First of all they have nothing to do one with another, and yes the winner song is crap, but in terms of the message it portrays and the spectacularity of the staging, guys, that's simply what it sells today! And the winner has all the credit for winning not only because of the song, but maybe MORE because she's not the type of stereotyped young female singer with a great figure and beauty. She portrayed Adele in some way, and that's great. That's part of her success too, not just because of the (crap) song. She broke the mould here again.

 

Céline won't go anywhere doing what she does in songs like the Deadpool song. Not at least where you want her to go. That doesn't mean Céline's song is a great song and we love it, but she'll never get and go to the lands you want her to go. Accept it
