There was an article within the past few months (I'm afraid I don't remember which one) about how they were looking for a song for the movie and found Ashes, which had been sitting around for a while. Thus, it could not count as being written specifically for the movie.well the fact is that the song was submitted to grammys in several categories including "best song written for visual media". As for oscars...warner didnt submit to compete for"best orginal song"... Quote
