I teared up reading that. She is spectacular. And so amazing (and surreal) that the chance of her randomly rehashed The Best So Far has an extremely high chance of being the official number one album in Australia when the chart is announced on Saturday. It was number 4 last week but the Melbourne shows have seen her media presence skyrocket!

A moment where history had been written. I hoped so much, that this moment would happen! It's sooooooo great that it really happened! Thanks to all the good souls who recorded it!

 

This song soars like a hymn from way back out of my youth - and now, being performed by those two great human beings and gifted artists is really a dream come true for me too. All you lucky souls being there: Engrave it into your memory (... in case you liked it and you truely can check out the value of it.) What a way to finish the Australian leg of the tour!

I had never heard this song before. It's fantastic and it so speaks to our times right now. Well ... somehow waited for that kind of news, since it was in the Projects interview with her, that she talk about "you're the voice"

We are SOOO getting a DVD or Netflix special after this, maybe the whole tour or maybe the Melbourne show, did you see all the camaras around the duet with John Farham? and they brought the guys with the pipes as well??? Also that clip of her riding the golf cart back stage shown the other day, we surely have a Taking Chances Tour dvd/special or something of that sort, I mean we do have concerts from the US (Memphis/Boston) and Europe (Paris and some Taking Chances footage) but a WHOLE show dedicated to Asia and Australia? nevah' !

Cant wait!!! I believe Sur Les Plaines was a DVD for Canada only, WAAAAAY too long and with songs/guest artists only Canadian people know, such a boring show and her voice was blah....

But So far this tour, you can tell she is having fun, first time in a long time I finally see the Celine from those FIY or LTAL days...

I am waiting for a documentary with the tours of 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Sony Music cannot disappoint us... After all this is supposed to be the great year of Celine, the year of her 50th birthday!

Last year was great and the second tour without Rene. She was in a great mood. For me 2016 tour was more of a dedication to Rene tour

I honestly wouldnt be mad if it was this years tour. It clearly seems to follow the TC tour architype of a docu and a concert. Say what you want about set lists but this show is far more polished and interesting than the others.

 

Better looks,better vocals for the most part and better fan interactions not including that this tour is full of shows that were the first visits to many countries. Shes been to Paris literally (probably) nearly 100 times and to the UK and other European cities shes been there many times too.

 

So i think a tour consisting of such a diverse and first time visit to many places is far more appealing.

 

 

Not to mention that a docu about tour life and BTS would be FAR more interesting in Asia and Oceania and have far more interesting scenes than her being in Paris for the 482827192th time (which we already kind of got with the 2016 tour tv special) or just following her around london for 2 days with not much to do.

 

 

Not to mention that the 2017 tour had mostly the exact same layout as all her other french shows (except JE,TLBSEPT,Letoile and Encore Un Soir) and by the time she got to London the second time, the only unique thing was RTD/LIAWN which we have PLENTY of on YouTube thats 100% UNEDITED.

 

So this tour infact is far more interesting than the previous two.

I was at one of the London concerts last year and Celine was absolutely fabulous!!!

I know that concert was filmed and it would be incredible if it was also released on DVD.

That's a separate question (and one on which I'm sure everyone here has an opinion), but not the point of the statement in the article (which, again, is a factual representation of reality, whether we agree with the general critical opinion or not).

The kayak story? No, I would point to that as the juncture where critical opinion towards her started to turn for the better.

I would suggest you read Carl Wilson's book for an answer to your questions (the 2014 edition, not the 2007 one - it includes a host of great opening essays).

It's certainly too big of a question to be addressed in a single post (especially in this topic), but Wilson's book attempts to do exactly that.
