jpatdeleon09 Posted August 10, 2018 at 02:55 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 02:55 AM I like her outfits last year and in 2016. At first, i admit that i don’t like it because it’s really different from her usual outfits especially the white asymmetrical dress that looks like an angel with silver long boots. But now I love it now. It’s really fashion and i wish that she’ll donit again for this tour but she goes back in her usual outfit. Quote
GoldenLeaf Posted August 10, 2018 at 03:37 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 03:37 AM (edited) This years costumes are far more exciting lol. Compare it : Last year : a basic blazer and black pants This year : a full gold pantsuit with the gold boots Last Year - Earlier a huge white curtain thing and space boots, later on she kept the blazer for an extended period This Year - A multicoloured party dress with exotic colours, underneath a huge black lower skirt that pulls away for the dress beneath. Last year - An amazing bodysuit that they then covered up with a huge binbag thing This year : an elegant black cocktail dress with beautiful accessories Last year - a plain white tshirt and the same black pants as earlier in the show This year - a fancy space mini dress thats pink and turquoise with sexy shorts on underneath Last year - a big shell gown covered in fairy lights with a seperate outfit underneath This year- either a huge pink and white ballgown or a chic black gown with a train and a huge diamond necklacs No shade but this year is far superiorTBH I don't care about the old fashioned full gold pantsuit with the gold boots from the 2018 Tour , to me it looks like something that has belonged to Liberace (if you google picture of him you'll see what I mean LOL). Only mistake last year was indeed that awful trash bag thing. Edited August 10, 2018 at 03:43 AM by GoldenLeaf 4 Quote
Bouse Posted August 10, 2018 at 04:57 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 04:57 AM Honey, you just be you. Without apologies. Don't ever be ashamed to admit who you are, or what interests you! Fûck all of those imbeciles who have the need to judge people based on such trivial traits. I may be coming from a place of advantage, being that I've loved Celine since I was 4 years old (I will be 32 in 5 days). I've never felt the need to hide it, merely because I grew up with her. However, I've never felt the need to hide anything about myself in fear of embarrassment. I dare people to try and embarrass me. It won't end well for that person. Anyway, just be free. Allow yourself to be you. Educate people, whether it be about Celine or anything else in your life that you feel may be obscure to other people. One of the big problems in this world is that people are so afraid of what they don't know about. Why is that? Because they choose not to allow themselves to LEARN. It's up to all of us as individuals to be open and educate each other. If we make an impact on even just ONE person, it's a success. Don't ever be sorry to be who you are. Thanks a lot, I really need that. Loud and clear! That's so true though. Like you said, people are afraid of the unknown. While I totally respect people's preferences in music, I detest ignorance. Many don't even realise that she sings in French and her French albums are very different from her English ones; and that not every one of her songs is a freaking powerhouse ballad. And then the whole saga about oh you realise she doesn't write any of her songs, or play any instrument. She's only a freaking singer, does that fact make her less deserving of her success? I still remember 10 years ago at uni we had this assignment in cultural studies about taste and the connotations behind it. Blah blah blah in the end the question still rings true to this day: who is it to authorise the distinction between good taste and bad taste? It takes guts to go through life not worrying about this bullshit but we are all bound by social and cultural boundaries, and are hence subconsciously in need of validation. On the way to Celine's second show in Sydney I met this gorgeous family. The husband was appalled but happy to accompany his wife and daughter to the show. The kid was 10 and secretly I thought that's going to be my family in Vegas as soon as my daughter can sit still at a show 3 Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:02 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:02 AM "The Orient Express: The Legend of Travel book by Assouline publishing is the story of “the king of trains and the train of kings,” which could carry passengers from Paris to Constantinople in 76 hours, thanks to Belgian engineer Georges Lambert Nagelmackers’s perfect combination of long-distance travel and refinement. The Orient Express is a photographic guide to the history and culture surrounding this fabled train and all that took place within, from its notable passengers including Tolstoy and Grace Kelly to the tales crafted by Hemingway and Agatha Christie. In 2016, a presentation in Paris highlighted the key elements of a trip on the famed rail line through an initiatory journey created by the Design Studio Orient Express." she said she was reading about fashion...that little liar Unless she's looking through the book for fashion ideas. It reminds me of that picture of her when she was a teen and she's holding up a book about cats, but was she really reading it? lol 1 Quote

On the way to Celine's second show in Sydney I met this gorgeous family. The husband was appalled but happy to accompany his wife and daughter to the show. The kid was 10 and secretly I thought that's going to be my family in Vegas as soon as my daughter can sit still at a show I remember a similar conversation I had my first time in Vegas about taste versus talent. There are musicians I cannot freaking stand because they're not my taste. Some of them I don't want to admit they actually really do have talent, and some I have no probelm saying they have a multitude of talent just not my taste. I respect those where Celine is not their taste in music. They like, oh I don't know, country or rap or oldies or Gospel and, well, she's just not any of that. I do, however, have a much harder time going along with it when someone says things like she can't sing, or she screams, or, all she's ever done/known for is the titanic song. That goes back to that whole ignorance thing. I also reeeeeeeally hate when people argue that she doesn't write her own songs or play an instrument. So what? If doing either/both of those were requirements for making it in the biz, I can name, like, five people, accross many different genres by the way, who wouldn't make it. But for different reasons that they have, they did, and, like you said, that does not make them one bit less deserving of their success. ... Now briefly, does anyone know when/where the next show is? 1 Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
sfbaysinger Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:34 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:34 AM Yeah same here! But it's still better than getting nothing. I think this show would appeal more to the casual fans, and that's why they maybe release it instead of 2016/2017 It actually would make sense if indeed this year's set list is more geared toward the casual fan that this would be the one that got released. I personally think 2016 was THE BEST, most emotional. Last year was fun. But this year, as has been said, she did visit some places for the very first time EVER. That's humongous and truly exciting. So I can see reasons for releasing this year although I still want professional CD's of 2016/17 Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
sfbaysinger Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:48 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 05:48 AM That seems to be the only general consensus over Celine. That she is one of the finest vocalists with awesome techniques and controls. Some of my friends have compared her success to that of ABBA and the Beatles saying while they respect her musicianship and talent her MUSIC is not to their taste. This I completely understand. After all, despite having grown up in a household that absolutely loved and played Celine's music very very often, I only grew a liking to her music 20 years later (around 5 years ago), while I was going through a very stressful time and oddly enough her music got me through this long period in a surprisingly smooth way. I'm being very open and honest to say that I was very weirded out by the effect, so much that I bought all the books (biographies and even some academic books studying her as a phenomenon) to try and understand myself a little better. In the end I just resigned to the fact that I like her as a person and also lots and lots of her music. But still to these days only a handful of people know I spent almost $2000 to go see her in concert 2 nights in a row, and that I have all her albums. More than half of our friends are professional musicians, many of whom are pretty well known in Australia and I'm so so chickened of being judged that I just avoid telling anyone that isn't extremely close to me. Gosh this makes me sound so gross (my husband has told me to avoid the criticism and stay true to my feelings). However once I opened up to someone not so close and got grilled so hard I thought I would not want to bother doing it again. So I do believe there are many many many more Celine fans out there, more than you would ever know because they just don't wanna admit it. Yet when she comes around to do a show, people show up and tickets are almost always sold out! I can relate. I have talked endlessly in therapy trying to figure out what/why Celine has the effect on me that she does. I can't figure her out. your husband is right. Even if you don't make it a habbit to tell people about your feelings, be true/authentic/genuine to them/you. Also, how neat that whoever met that family in Australia. That poor dad, surrounded by his wife/daughter who are big fans. I like the idea that the younger generation could come along/on to her somehow. OH, and I KNOW it has already been talked about but OMG I just heard her duet with John Farnham of You're The Voice, loved it! 1 Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! Dion2000 Posted August 10, 2018 at 07:11 AM Posted August 10, 2018 at 07:11 AM So, all the songs of 1F4T and EUS doesn't deserved to be realeased only because she went too often to Paris ? Come on ... I can understand if you speak of number of concerts, buy as francophone I have the right of having these french live songs too. Now youre just trying to cause drama by taking things completely out of context and putting words and opinions in that arent even mine so please have some respect for yourself and dont try and be petty But thats the thing. We have 4k super hd video quality Youtube videos with great sound right at our fingertips, where as a DVD is likely to be overproduced and probably have a blurry effect like EUS did for the JJG special. I’ve never listened to, or watched someone perform; and I forget a song as well as Celine does. And that’s without bias. So many songwriters can deliver a beautiful song, but are unable to sing them. They need SINGERS to interpret their words and melodies. Celine is truly the most emotive pop artist out there. 3 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
